Saints Peter and Paul Workforce Ministry

The Saints Peter and Paul WorkForce Ministry provides support, encouragement, resources and Christian fellowship to the unemployed and underemployed by preparing them to face the challenges of a new job search.

Baldwin Oaks Academy is looking to fill 2 part time extended day positions. Hours are 2PM-6PM Monday through Friday.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

*Implementing an overall aftercare program for 3-6 year olds that supports the needs of individual children during the extended day within the Montessori framework (you need not be Montessori trained/certified).
*Model courteous and positive attitudes for all children and adults.
*Oversees the end of the day cleaning responsibilities and closing duties.
*Places the safety of the children first and continuously monitors while on the playground.
*Maintains yearly in-service (10 hours) and provides director copies of transcripts and certificates prior to the last day of school.
* Initial 45hours of DCF training completed is a plus, as is having current fingerprints and background screening in the DCF Clearinghouse.

Deacon Don will lead a lively conversation about how through an active and persistent faith, all things are amazingly possible.

Our presenter will be fellow Saints Peter & Paul parishioner Dr. Douglas W. Texter who will lead an interactive discussion on effective resume and cover letter writing techniques. Doug previously served as a résumé coach for the Employment Ministry at the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis and is currently pursuing certification as a résumé writer, as well as taking refresher courses in copy editing through the University of California at Berkeley.

Doug currently serves as the Course Director for Literary Criticism and Analytical Thinking at Full Sail University. He earned his BA at the University of Pennsylvania, his MA at Villanova University, and his Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota.
