In the past few months our world has been hit with an unprecedented virus; followed by the horrendous death of George Floyd, setting off protests and racial uprisings. I say to FCU Alumni, students, and friends, Enough is Enough! We must take action and open our hearts, abhor racial injustice and become intentional to stamp out racism. Dr. Leonard Hobbs an alumni of FCU, wrote his dissertation on Building Godly Families. It is now a book and addresses the nation’s family, spiritual, racial, and social issues and concerns from a biblical perspective. It openly addresses an old demon called racism. This is a great resource to begin the discussion in your church and with your family and friends. If you would like a copy contact FCU. I am believing that FCU will set a precedent, through biblical teaching, to be a catalyst against racism.

Dr. Faith's response to COVID-19

I want to address all of you as it pertains to the unprecedented happens of this season.

We are people of faith, and we all share the firm belief that
“GOD IS IN CONTROL!”

If you have taken one of my classes, you may have heard me say,
THIS IS A TEST!

I believe this is a test for the heart and soul of our nation, churches, and our families.

Will we look back and see chaos in the streets, or will we see communities and churches coming together? I believe this is the church’s finest hour to bring hope and healing to our nation. This is a great opportunity for you to live the gospel. Here are some reminders:

1. Keep a grateful heart. A grateful heart is a foundation for the development of such virtues as prayer, faith, courage, contentment, happiness, love, and well-being.

2. Remember you are a Believer! This is our opportunity to be that light in a dark world. Be the answer to your church, neighborhood, the widow, or the single parent. Use your Social Media to send messages of hope and let your light shine!

3. Turn off the critics and beware of the doomsayers! Let’s make sure that we stay with the word. I believe that Jesus is coming soon, and this very well could be a sign as to the end, but I believe that God is in control! Don’t spread undocumented reports and conspiracy theories. Stay with the word.

4. Here is how you PASS THE TEST: Minister to your friends, neighbors, and, most of all, your family. Gather your family if they are not present – FACETIME! and minister communion together and then have each one anoint one another with oil. Allow the Holy Spirit to do a work that otherwise might never have happened.

5. Follow James 5:14: Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.

There are many ways to activate this method of healing. James did not have a phone, Facetime, or Social Media.

Here is what I suggest:
Anoint everything in your home including pillows, furniture, pets, walk your yard, extend your hands, and PRAY. Have your children join you. This is a method that works! Encourage others to do this and invite others to share. Set up FaceTime to gather friends and family to share communion, anoint one another and pray. Be led by the Spirit of God and don’t be hesitant to be a source of healing and protection from this virus and anything that the enemy may bring your way.

God Bless you, and I pray for the safety and keeping power of God be manifest in you, your family, and your church, as well as the community you live in!
