Prison Fellowship International

We help restore justice and healing to families and communities in response to crime.

Prison Fellowship International is the world's largest and most extensive criminal justice ministry.

DEEPA | India | Prison Fellowship International

This is a story of just how far $15 can go. “Deepa’s story is an amazing testimony of why giving children the chance to go to school and attend fun social events can dramatically change their relationships, their status, their sense of self-worth, and their outlook on life,” says International Director of the Children of Prisoners Sponsorship Program Adam Hutchinson. For many girls in India, education is still a luxury. Girls are often pulled out of school to help care for siblings and do housework—preparation for married life, which is often viewed as their ticket to financial security and stability. If they are lucky enough to continue on in school, the cost...

Now through the end of the month, when you shop through and select Prison Fellowship International as your charity of choice, we receive triple the donation rate. It's one of the simplest ways you can partner with us to provide practical assistance to impoverished children of prisoners, and help us transform offenders from the inside out, so they can be restored to their families and reconciled with their communities. Please share this post!

This week, our team is touring prisoners with Prison Fellowship South Africa, as we continue to gather baseline data for the 40-month social-science study on prisoner behavior for our in-prison program, The Prisoner's Journey. Please join us in praying for the safety, health, and productivity of our staff and research teams, and that God's love and presence would be evident to all they come in contact with.

We're honored to have Liz Curtis Higgs as a partner in caring for children of prisoners. Please come to the #EndlessHope tour with music by Austin & Lindsey Adamec on March 6 in Plainfield Illinois ! Tickets available at

NEW BEHAVIORAL STUDY IN PRISONS| The Prisoner’s Journey | Prison Fellowship International

Our team is in Colombia this week with researchers collecting baseline data for our 40-month behavioral study on the effectiveness of The Prisoner's Journey Bible programming in prisons. Please hold up our team in prayer. You can learn more about the study below. Prison Fellowship International (PFI) announced the commencement of a 40-month study to show the impact of a Bible-based program, The Prisoner’s Journey®, in prisons throughout Colombia, Nigeria, and South Africa.

We know children of prisoners are amongst the most vulnerable children in the world. A key part of our child sponsorship program is to improve the safety of children in our care. This means we have to bring awareness of the problem to help change hearts and minds.

Our program partners do this by ensuring caregivers, communities, and children understand their rights under the law. It’s long and hard work, but we are seeing some amazing things happen.

Prison Fellowship Zambia recently took a delegation of children to Zambia’s Universal Children’s Rights Day to participate in marches, debates, speeches, and other activities where children’s voices were heard.

Safety and security creates an environment in which children can thrive and experience fullness of life and the opportunity to grow into their God given potential – congratulations to Prison Fellowship Zambia for their part in that!

Children of prisoners in Zimbabwe are celebrating after Prison Fellowship Zimbabwe successfully lobbied to overturn a prison visitation ban. This is a breakthrough for Zimbabwean children of prisoners under 18 years old, who were not permitted to visit anyone in prison—even their incarcerated parent. Read the story here:

Malawi_07 December 2017_TPJ Promotional Event

The beauty of the Gospel is that joy can exist anywhere. The Prisoner's Journey started in Malawi at Zomba Central Prison, one of the largest Prisons in Malawi with over 2.5k inmates. This was a promotional event where the famous Zomba Prison Band—once nominated for a Grammy award in 2016 Zomba Music Project—performed. The Prisoner's Journey has broken barriers between officers and inmates and together they can dance and celebrate one Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

PF Malawi posted an amazing video of a TPJ promotional event—the Zomba prison band played a song with lyrics meaning that we are all like broken cars and Jesus…

Last week, Greg Pennoyer shared his experience in confronting jealousy. Today, he continues this discussion with how we can come alongside our teams to create an environment that leaves no room for comparison.

Adam Hutchinson, the brains behind our children of prisoners program, takes rescuing, restoring, and rebuilding both the lives of children of prisoners and mustaches very seriously.

Jealousy and comparison are easy but dangerous ways to measure our performance. Greg Pennoyer shares a better way in today's RoundTable article --> #tiptuesday #pfiroundtable

Today is your last chance to become a part of this little girl's living story of hope! Please give Beauty a chance at a bright and hopeful future: Meet Beauty. She's 10. She's tender. But she's tough. She has to be, because her father is in prison. The ugly truth, if you're a child of prisoner, is you are often mocked, ridiculed, and rejected—sometimes even by your remaining parent—for your association with a criminal. It's not your fault,...
