Tortolita Presbyterian Church

Tortolita is a warm, joyful, family-friendly, Bible-based, Christ-centered, prayerful, serving, community of faith. Please, come be a part of us!

LORD, by the power of Your Holy Spirit, open our hearts and minds and souls wide to Your presence as we read Your Word. May we soak in Your truth, like a dry sponge under a faucet. May we be changed by Your Spirit in the places we need to be changed. May our lives become vessels of Your Living Water to thirsty people. We pray in Jesus’ Name…AMEN.

Catherine Wilcox Skow, I guess you were right! The Covid is ovah!

[05/06/20]   We have just started a new series through the book of Matthew. What a wonderful gospel to read as we learn more from Jesus about how to follow Him in the way He lived. I hope you will begin reading through the gospel of Matthew this week and continue through the summer months as we learn through Matthew’s eyes what it means to be disciples of Jesus. We will be discipled by the Holy Spirit as we allow this gospel to transform through Christ’s life and teaching. May we be different because of our time with Jesus in this Gospel of Matthew and may we be more and more apart of His kingdom that changes everything!

[04/02/20]   Session decided to further postpone all church worship gatherings and activities through April 30. We will meet again at the end of the month and assess where we are in all of this Covid-19 concern to determine if we can meet at Tortolita for worship and other activities.

Until then, the church office and all facilities will be closed. You will continue to receive weekly worship outlines with scripture, prayers, a message and worship music. I hope you will take time for Sabbath rest and worship of the LORD.

We continue to offer a daily check-in and prayer every afternoon at 4:00 pm by Zoom conference call.

Hi Friends!
This is the Exodus story of God's people who are on an adventure being lead by Moses to the land which God promised them. I posted part 2 of this Exodus video story just moments ago but I thought you might want to see the first half and then follow it up with part two. Look for my last post to see Exodus video part 2 from the good people at The Bible Project.

God bless you! < Pastor Jennifer Wilcox Cummins

Hello Friends, At Tortolita Church we are learning about the adventures of Moses and God's people in the Old Testament book of Exodus. This past Sunday we looked at the 10 Commandments in Exodus, chapter 20. As we move into the second half of Exodus I hope you will enjoy and learn from this great summary teaching from the Bible Project!

PS - Sing "This Little Light of Mine" while you wash your hands and keep your fingers out of your nose! :o)

Exodus 19-40: God invites the redeemed Israelites into a covenant relationship and comes to personally live among them in the Tabernacle. Israel rebels, however, creating a rift in the relationship.

The Tortolita Session is addressing the current health concern of the Covid-19 virus as it relates to our church gatherings. After prayerful consideration the Session has decided to postpone Tortolita Church worship services and activities until April 1. This means we will postpone our group worship gatherings (3/15, 3/22 and 3/29), and postpone the Men’s Breakfast and Golf event (3/14), What-Sew-Ever (3/17, 3/24 and 3/31), the Wednesday Bible Study (3/18, 3/25 and 4/1), along with our outreach event, Messy Lent (3/22). We hope to resume our Messy Easter event and worship on Palm Sunday (4/5) and Easter worship (4/12).
You can look in your email for a weekly Bible message on Sunday with a website link so you can listen to a musical piece or two!
We hope to keep the office open during this time. Please call 520-572-1210 if you have prayer concerns, would like to be added to our email list, or need assistance during this time.
Let us continue to pray for our most vulnerable and for those who are researching a vaccine for this virus. Keep those in your prayers who are working in local hospitals and urgent care centers as they minister to those with illnesses.

Psalm 46:1 reminds us "God is our refuge and our strength , a very present help in trouble." God has got you and all of us in His perfect care. Fear not!

And remember, "Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18

Add this to your calendar and join us for a Lent Event!
