[11/25/18]   Our obedience to God will be fueled by our faith in God. Do you trust that your Heavenly Father knows what you have need of?

“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.””
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:8‬ NLT

[09/16/18]   God is the initiator of every thing in our lives - both the obvious good and the trials that don’t seem so good. You are perfectly loved even when it doesn’t feel like love.

“Then those who feared the Lord spoke with each other, and the Lord listened to what they said. In his presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared him and always thought about the honor of his name.

“They will be my people,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “On the day when I act in judgment, they will be my own special treasure. I will spare them as a father spares an obedient child.

Then you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.””

Day 2 of our Annual Young Adult Retreat! Over 100 people took the day off work to soak in the fellowship of those who love the Lord.

This morning, Pastor Jimmy is continuing the teaching about Unity by laying down these basic principles - We are striving to become a group of people who are becoming more like Jesus and truly loving each other. We do this by running to the Light and being honest with each other and the Lord about our struggles and trials.

Do you choose a lifestyle that allows God’s Light into every area of your life? Or do you have things you want to remain hidden away - secret sins or guilty pleasures that you refuse to give up? Keeping darkness in your life will hurt the goal of unity in the Body of Christ!

[09/13/18]   This week, the Young Adult Group (ages 18 - 30ish) are having their annual Retreat. They take off work to enjoy meals, teachings, and fellowship together.

Tonight’s message is from Pastor Jeff about Unity, and he shared these seven keys for Unity to be built:

1. Be on fire for God.
2. Pray earnestly for unity.
3. Keep a watch on your tongue.
4. Submit to spiritual authority.
5. Be quick to clear and overcome interpersonal offenses.
6. Maintain one heart, mind, and soul.
7. Understand how spiritual gifting works.

[09/04/18]   Do you measure God’s love based off your circumstances? The measure of God’s love is not how life has treated you. It’s not in what you have (or don’t have).

The measure of God’s love is solely in His sending Jesus to die on the cross for our sins.

Ephesians 3:14-20 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner | New Living Translation...

We love this prayer from Paul in Ephesians. Do you pray like this for your friends? Your children? ...yourself?

“When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.

Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.

May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3:14-20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

[08/12/18]   Feeling lost? God says that when you seek Him with all of your heart and all of your soul, you will find Him.
Feeling powerless? God says that the fervent, white-hot prayers of a righteous man will accomplish much.
Feeling neglected? God says He will reward those who diligently seek Him.

[08/04/18]   The preaching of a friendly, attractive gospel does not possess the power to change lives. Hearts can only change when they encounter the unashamed, challenging truth of sin and salvation.

[08/02/18]   “God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:10-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The world will hate you for preaching the love of Jesus. Are you prepared to obey God even when you are reviled and mocked and falsely accused?

[07/29/18]   God does not expect us to be perfect, but He does expect us to pursue perfection. Stop placing so much emphasis on your journey and performance, and instead, begin to fix your eyes on heaven and the presence of God.

Your decisions and pursuit should be driven by your hunger for the presence of God. Don’t be like the world, who is driven by sin and their own lusts.

[07/26/18]   If you are walking in true humility and not taking credit for your spiritual successes, then you have no need to live in guilt over your spiritual failures.

[07/22/18]   We are living in a world of compromise and tolerance-a gray world without absolutes. Are you willing to become so full of the Word of God that you are unafraid to take a stand on what God has said is an absolute truth?

[07/08/18]   The height of spiritual maturity is the ability to keep a watch over your tongue. Do you feel compelled to share your opinion on everything and everyone? How many words would you speak a day if you only said that which was edifying and encouraging to others?

[07/01/18]   If you focus more on the reasons rather than the repentance for the sin in your life, then your sin has power over you. When you justify your sin, you are giving it an excuse to remain in your heart.

Drug Addiction, Depression and Suicide | Calvary Temple Miracles

We come broken to be mended.
We come wounded to be healed.
We come desperate to be rescued.
We come empty to be filled.
We come guilty to be pardoned
By the blood of Christ the Lamb.
And I’m welcomed with open arms (Praise God)
Just as I am.

One of the most powerful ways to represent Jesus to your generation is to be kind. Are you quick to lose your temper? To speak harsh words? Or are you someone who is filled with love and gentle words, despite hard situations.

‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭4:29-30‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This prayer in Acts paints a picture of what a normal Christian life should be every day. We should be bold with the gospel message, filled with power, and working miraculous signs that display God’s signature on our lives.

Is this normative Christianity for you? Or have you been choosing to live below this standard? God is calling us to step up and live in this daily power and anointing!

[03/11/18]   God doesn’t just love - He is the source of all love. His love for us is the only thing that can break our selfish hold on our own will and perceived power. When we truly understand the depth of God’s love for us, we won’t be able to help but love selflessly and without fear.

[02/18/18]   In John 15, Jesus commands us to love one another as He has loved us. Think about how Jesus loved us - He loved us when we were sinners; when we hated Him; when we deserved nothing but justice and punishment. Jesus loved us without expectation.

Do you love the people around you without ever expecting them to reciprocate? Can you love without your feelings getting in the way? Can you lay down your life for the people who don’t appreciate you?

It’s easy for us to love the people who love us back. But being able to love like Jesus loved...that is what we as Christians are called to be.
