"Cruciform" means "formed in the shape of the cross". We are a group of Christians are committed to shaping our lives according to the cross of Jesus.
The word "cruciform" means "formed in the shape of the cross". We believe this word describes our identity as a church. We are a group of Christians who have committed ourselves to shaping our lives according to the cross of Jesus Christ. His example of sacrifice, submission, and service defines who we seek to be. We have not yet achieved a fully cruciform state, but we seek to do so, and we strive to encourage one another as we draw closer to Jesus Christ. We invite you to join us on this journey.
Harry plans to starts his Bible class back on Sunday, April 12.
For tomorrow, we will again have our "live" online worship tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m. Hope you can join us! https://cruciform.online.church/

Out of concern for the well-being of our church family (as well as the community around us), the elders have decided that it would be best for us to cancel Sunday services tomorrow.
This does not mean that worship is canceled. Worship is not confined to one specific place. We would encourage everyone to take time tomorrow morning to worship with your family.
Alan's sermon will be posted on the front page of our church website (www.cruciformcoc.com) at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. It will not be a continuation of the Old Testament series, but will be a lesson designed especially for the crisis we are going through. We encourage everyone to use this as part of your home worship.
Communion: If you would like to get communion supplies for your family, you can pick them up at the church building this morning, anytime before noon. Someone will be there to give them to you. We do not know how long this crisis will last, but we want to give each family enough supplies to last three weeks. If you are unable to get out and would like for someone to deliver these to you, please let Alan know.
Contribution: We continue to have church expenses even when we don't meet, so we are asking all members to continue to donate their weekly (or monthly) contribution. If you have checks or cash, they can be given to or mailed to Alan. If you prefer to donate by credit/debit card online, we will have a way for you to do that on our church website tomorrow.
Though we are isolated, please do not allow yourself to remain confined to your home. Get outside, enjoy God's creation, take a walk, sit on your back porch, listen to the birds sing, watch the clouds, allow God's creation to refresh you.
Please maintain contact with others (especially your brothers and sisters in Christ) while we are separated. Make calls, send texts.
Use this as an opportunity to serve others. Someone has said, "After you wash your hands, remember to wash someone else's feet." Every need in the world is an opportunity for us to share God's love. Look around and become aware of needs around you, so that you can meet those needs.
Finally, take precautions, but do not fear, do not panic. Have peace of mind based on the knowledge that we have a heavenly Father who loves us and watches over us. We are not given a choice regarding whether or not we will be affected by this crisis. We only have a choice regarding how we react to it.
If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, please contact one of the elders (Tom, Harry, Joey, Alan). Also, if you have any needs that arise, please let these men know.

Are you ready for week 4 in our sermon series? We will be "Exploring the Bible" as we continue looking at Genesis to get an overview and see how that book fits into God's overall message. See you tomorrow at 10:30am (or 10:00am for some coffee and donuts)!
What a GREAT day we had on Sunday! Being in a place of our own for the first time to worship God was emotional in so many ways. But, most of all, it was a day filled with joy as we were able to give praise to God for blessing us so richly.
Curious how our schedule will change or what we have in store for Bible classes now that we have our own space? Join in our excitement and praise at 10:30am - we'll fill you in!

Flooring, and ceiling, and electricity, oh my!
It is time to move our furniture into the new church building and we need LOTS of help!!
After worship tomorrow, we are asking everyone to grab a quick bite at a fast food restaurant, then head quickly over to Bob Sprowl's house. We will have a box truck there, but several pick-up trucks will be needed, as well. We'll load everything up, then carry it all to the new building.
Please plan to help out if you can!
Getting to hang bathroom signs and install cabinet knobs is sure to be a sign that moving day is sooner rather than later! We can't wait to have the date of our first Sunday worshipping in our new space. Continued thanks to those who keep on coming out week after week, getting things done!
Due to illness , ladies class has been cancelled for this week. We will resume next week.
What a productive few weeks it has been! Thank you to everyone who is taking time out of each week to help wherever help is needed. A HUGE thank you to Jim and Fawn Gibson for coming down this week and blessing us with their skills, time, and energy. Can you see the light at the end of the tunnel yet?!
[04/05/19] Just a reminder that there is a workday at the church building tomorrow morning. No need to bring any tools, but wear clothes that you don't mind getting paint or dirt on!
We will be working at the church building this evening. Join us any time after 4:00 p.m. We'll work until around 7:30 p.m.
We will also be working at the building Saturday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Come out and help if you can. The more help we get, the faster we get into the new building!
Tonight's Work Day Update:
Cleaning -- We need to give the entire building a thorough cleaning. All ages can help out. It is important for us to get as much of the drywall dust out of the building as possible. What to bring -- a dust mask (essential!), a broom and a dustpan. Come when you can after work and stay as long as you are able.
Saturday (and Sunday?) Work Day
Painting -- While Chance and Abigail are priming the front half of the church building, we need six adults (2 teams of 3) willing to spend 2-3 hours Saturday morning to paint the back half of the building. We'll begin at 9:30 a.m. and should be done by noon. If these two teams are not able to complete the job, we may need one more team of 3 to spend a couple of hours painting on Sunday afternoon (2:00-4:00).
Other -- If you would prefer an outdoor job, we will need 2-3 people to mulch branches around the parking lot and move the mulch around our plants.
Thank you for all your hard work thus far!!
Thank you to all of you who showed up today!! A tremendous amount of cleaning got done in preparation for painting.
There will be no congregational workday tomorrow. Chance and Abigail will be priming some of the walls tomorrow, but no other help is needed (unless you want to watch their kids!)
The next scheduled workdays will be Wednesday evening (March 20) and next Saturday (March 23).
Keep a check on your email for any changes to this schedule!
IMPORTANT (ANOTHER CHANGE): Unfortunately, we are not able to begin on the painting in the morning. However, we will be able to start work in the afternoon. Here are the new workday times:
Saturday, March 16, 2:00-6:00 p.m.
Sunday, March 17, after lunch until.......
If you can help out, please come by!
IMPORTANT CHANGE OF PLANS:
Unfortunately, the drywall crew will NOT be ready for us to begin painting tomorrow night. There will not be a workday at the building tomorrow evening. Instead, we will have Wednesday night Bible study in Alan & Sueanne's home tomorrow night beginning at 7:00 p.m. Our topic will be "money". I realize no one will have much time to prepare, but be thinking about some of what the Bible has to say about financial advice, giving, money, etc.
Upcoming plans for workdays (subject to change):
We still plan to have a workday at the building this Saturday to get started on the painting. We will get started at 9:00 a.m. and will work through the day until we get done. This will get the primer coat on the walls.
[03/12/19] Reminder! There will be no Bible class Wednesday evening, as we will have a workday at the church building tomorrow, from 4:00-8:00 p.m., to get some painting done. We will also probably have another workday on Saturday. Stay tuned for updates as the week goes on.
See you tomorrow morning for worship at 10:30!
The building is NOT ready for us to begin painting tomorrow, so tomorrow's workday has been canceled We will, however, need to get a lot of work done next week. Here are the needs we currently have:
Monday morning, 9:30-11:00 a.m. We need to carry all of the drywall scraps in the building outside so that the contractor can pick them up and haul them off.
Tuesday evening and Wednesday during the day. We need volunteers to clean out rooms to get them ready for painting (at whatever time is convenient for you). Bring brooms, mops, buckets and rags. Let me know if you are planning to help out so that I can coordinate everything.
Wednesday evening, 4:00-8:00 p.m. Come whenever you can after work. We will NOT have Bible class Wednesday evening next week. Instead, we will start painting the building. We will be spraying the primer coat, so no help (other than Joey and Abigail) is needed with the actual painting. There will, however, be a need for people to help clean up, move things around, tape up sockets and switches, lay dropcloths down, etc.
Another night (Thursday or Friday) may be scheduled to do more priming. Stay tuned!
Saturday, 9:00 a.m. till we finish. We will be rolling the final coat of paint, so much help will be needed.
