28 Baptized on His first day at His District
Yesterday I had the privilege of presenting the new pastor for the Brockton-Lincoln District, Pastor Samuel Appiah and his family. Coincidentally, it was the last day of two-week revival led by a guest, Pastor Audley Allen from the North Eastern Conference. The Elders of the Brockton church approached Pastor Appiah to baptize the 28 individuals who gave their lives to the Lord. May God bless these individuals.
What a way to begin ministry at a new district. Praise God!!

As through Jesus we enter into rest, heaven begins here. We respond to His invitation, Come, learn of Me, and in thus coming we begin the life eternal. Heaven is a ceaseless approaching to God through Christ. The longer we are in the heaven of bliss, the more and still more of glory will be opened to us; and the more we know of God, the more intense will be our happiness.
When the Lord?s people are filled with meekness and tenderness, they will realize that His banner over them is love, and His fruit will be sweet to their taste. They will make a heaven below in which to prepare for heaven above. - The Faith I Live By, p. 367

Cut an army off from its supplies, and it must soon retreat. Cut a Christian off from his Bible, "the sword of the Spirit," and he is bound to be defeated in the conflict with the enemy. Our Master, when on earth, knew the Scriptures. He made them a part of His life, and He vanquished the enemy with, "It is written." Jesus prayed, "Sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth," and He commanded us to "search the Scriptures." At another time, He said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
A great general once ordered some iron armor. When it was brought, he asked, "Is it safe?" "Yes, sir," replied the messenger. "Then put it on, and let me test it," commanded the general.
The armor that Christ asks us to put on has been tested. He wore it, and was safe, for He "was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." Our only safety, in these troublous times, lies in an experimental knowledge of the Scriptures and an unbroken communion with Heaven.

I've noticed that I become more energized when I resurrect an old offense and tell someone who hasn't heard the story of how it happened and the pain it's caused me. We get a dark comfort by holding on to our victim status, by seeking pity in which we can wallow, by taking the stage to relive an old hurt. When we've had weeks, or months, or years of practice, it feels normal to keep our old hurts alive. But doing so locks us into the past, preventing us from moving freely into the future. We become perpetual victims and give up the opportunity to try a different road.
We mustn't live in the past or find our greatest comfort in reciting our pains and regrets. Forgiving enables us to close the door on the past and to take a new road, a new focus and purpose - Darold Bigger

Pray for Evangelism at the Dedham Haitian Church
TEFILLAH: Which means PRAYER
How often do we use prayer as nothing more than an emergency call or a cold call to God?
Too often we only pray when we need or want something from God - which is understandable considering the English word "pray" means to "ask or beg". But the Hebrew word for prayer - tefillah - means to "self evaluate”. So to the Jews of the Bible, prayer was not a time when they asked God for things … it was a time when they examined themselves. They would use prayer as a way to compare their actions, behavior and attitude against God’s holiness.
Could this idea change your prayers today?

Baptisms at El Shaddai Spanish Seventh-day Company at Saugus, MA
Yesterday, May 25, 2019, after preaching at the Medford Portuguese church, I went on to Saugus to support baptism event. Five individuals were baptized to the glory of God. The spirit in the church was very inspiring, energizing and uplifting. From the time I entered the church till the end of the event, I could feel fascinating spirit and enticing love that would cause any visitor to want to come back and worship with this wonderful group of people.
The five individuals who were baptized came to the love of the Lord through the Holy Spirit working through six small groups. The six groups meet during the week at different places in the general area to love the people in the community through acts of service, ministry and outreach.
Each Small Group has a motto, a song, a Bible verse, a color, a slogan and baptismal goal for each quarter (see photo)
Through their activities, people come to find out why they are very loving, caring and sensitive to the needs of the people in the community. This, therefore gives them the opportunity to share the good news about the love of Jesus Christ to the people. Utilizing small groups ministry, the group that only started last October (2018) has baptized close to twenty individuals, praise be to God!!

Join us for a fun-filled afternoon!
Here is what I think is part of the problem: social media has made us self-centered. People who are actually other oriented don't spend hours cropping photos of themselves that they can throw on their interweb shrines. They just don't.
We can talk about how much we love people or how passionate we are about the homeless, but if our iPhones are out of iCloud storage because we have two thousand photos of ourselves and our meals, we aren't compassionate. We just want people to think we are.
Christ's entire gospel message is about dying to yourself and living in Christ. Social media posts that center on me, selfies of me, snaps and chats of my every waking second are the complete opposite of that message. - Heather Day Thompson
