Oh, church family and friends, if you missed tonight’s sermon by Zak, you have GOT to watch it online. It was amazing and I was super blessed by it.
We cut this Sunday in Santa Barbara... these are local candidates for school boards, water boards, State Assembly and US Congress.
A big THANK YOU to all who helped set up and cook and package food and clean up last night! Those hamburgers were seriously delicious. Mike and I had a delightful time and had some life-giving conversation around the table. Thank you to all those who made it happen. I love my church family. 🥰
Hello. I’m reaching out hoping someone can help. My son is attending UCSB he is losing housing, because of school decision not having in person studies, can some send us information of any rooms for rent. I’m box me for info about our son or us. Thank you
Blessed to call this our Home Church
Happy Fathers Day to all the dads on our staff! You guys are wonderful ! We love and appreciate you! Today's service was so great. Ed and Adam and the band led us in The Blessing which was such a blessing then we sang It's His breath that is in me...His breath in my lungs! Pretty much discounts the affects of the COVID! Remember that when fear overwhelms you! It is His breath in my lungs!!! Sing over your loved ones God's blessings and worship. Have an blessed week! 🤗😘

Looking forward to Pastor Tommy on FaceBook LIVE on KVRY 99.5FM in Santa Barbara and everywhere on the TuneIn radio app for your device
A pastor was traveling last week, he saw an old man, and gave him a lift. While they were going, the old man said; my son, do you know what happened in Heaven last night? The pastor was so terrified and hurriedly parked and asked; Sir, are you sleeping? How did you get the information about Heaven? The Old man said; last night in Heaven God became very angry with man and asked the Angels to blow the trumpet. The angels picked up the trumpets and they were about to blow it WHEN, Jesus fell down and began to plead in tears. The blood that came out of His hands and body were very fresh. He told God that His death shouldn't be in vain. God couldn't stand the pains of the saint and the wickedness of the evil ones. So He said; "I AM GIVING THEM THEIR LAST CHANCE." JESUS then turned to the angels and told them to move down in their numerous numbers to tell the world that: "THE END IS NEAR, JESUS IS COMING VERY SOON". The pastor (sweating and crying) asked; sir, how did you know this? The OLD MAN replied; I am one of the Angels sent to the World. Please use every medium of communication to send this message. No time to waste, Please! And the old man disappeared. Brethren, this story is real, Christ is coming Soon. PLEASE SAVE A SOUL TODAY BY SENDING TO 100 PEOPLE ON UR LIST....I Have done my part, it's now your turn to spread the Gospel. No wealth can be compared to life everlasting in Heaven. Jesus i luv u Jesus i luv u Jesus i luv u. Send to 100 people u wll pass all exam in life!
Wow! Just got home from the womens’ retreat. A big THANK YOU to all of you wonderful, incredible, loving ladies who made it happen (I’m sorry if I forgot anybody): Debi Schneider, Sadie Lyda, Heather Neal, Nanci Reed Bramsen, Jill, Carolyn Aijian, Jenny (sp?) McWhirter, Tara Derr, Norma Montross, Denise Diven, Mia McElwee, Carol Smullens. You are amazing ladies - thank you for all your hard work! Oh! And Leah Hendrickson you are amazing with icebreakers and games (buffalo! Ha ha ha. That was fun.)
Are you having a big $40/bike sale in your parking lot this week? I saw an ad for one on Craigslist but it doesn't give a date.
Calvary SB, can you explain these disgusting posts by Analytics805, an organization that is hosting an event at your church in Santa Barbara on August 10th? We are concerned and disgusted, and would like an explanation. They refer to gay marriage as the same as a woman marrying a sheep, and also describe being gay as an "abnormal sexuality." There is no place in Santa Barbara and the Christian communities for this amount of hatred and bigotry.

We're a church in Santa Barbara. Our desire is to share the word and reach the world.

Mission: Share the Word • Reach the World

Operating as usual

Update & Encouragement

Midweek & Sunday Service this week will be virtual. We love love love you!

Pastor Tommy sharing about our pause on in-person gatherings this Sunday.

This week a few of our church staff began experiencing flu-like symptoms and a small number have received positive test results for coronavirus. Out of an abundance of caution we felt it right to move this Sunday’s services online only. Although it may feel like a step backward, after prayerful consideration, we feel that a temporary break from in-person church gatherings will bless those more vulnerable within our church, give our staff time to recover, and further keep LOVE as our priority.

This Sunday our 9:00am & 11:00am services will be available online at calvarysb.com/live. Sadly, many other in-person meetings, and events will be taking a break as well.

Know that this pause is temporary and will be reassessed next week, so keep checking for updates, and join us as we pray for wisdom & wellness.

Love, Love, Love!
Your CalvarySB Family

Save the date: for our Christmas Eve Service - December 24 at 3:00pm on the Beach (Cabrillo Pavilion). This outreach is going to be epic, and we’re looking forward to seeing you there!

‼️UPDATE ‼️ Due to an increased amount of cases in our community, we have decided to cancel Women's Night of Worship this Sunday Evening. This is obviously disappointing, but our first priority is the love and care for those who are vulnerable.

Since it is so close to the Christmas Season, the last thing we would want is for a spread to put a damper on people’s family-time. We will continue Sunday mornings as scheduled, please come ready to worship and be considerate of those around you.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE you, and we are praying God’s grace, mercy, and abundance over you!

Let’s prepare our hearts for the Christmas Season 🎄 Join us tonight at 6:30pm as Pastor Guzik kicks off our Advent Series. Warm drinks and treats provided 😊

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.”

What a year it has been. Yet still there is much to rejoice over. We sing of our God’s faithfulness today and thank Him for all He has done. We have a hope in the character of our God, and eagerly look for every opportunity to show our gratitude to Him. Happy Thanksgiving, family! Love love love.

Continuing to LOVE one another while SAFELY considering each other. See you this morning at 9am & 11am. With inside, outside, and online options for everyone 😊 Let’s worship!

"Valor is stability, not of legs and arms, but of courage and the soul." 🇺🇸 Thank you to all our veterans. Praying for you, your families, and our nation. #veteransday

What do we really need during a time like this? What is the truest and deepest need of our hearts? The answer is, and always will be, Jesus 🌅 Join us Sunday at 9am & 11am for worship — Also, stop on by at 4:30 for our Operation Christmas Child packing party 🎄Now more than ever is a time to selflessly give our efforts for others.

When you ask us how we feel about the election... 😊🙌🏽

TWO things we are stoked about 👉🏽 One: Getting to worship with you tomorrow at 9am & 11am. Two: An extra hour of sleep (yay daylight savings!) 😊⏰

”The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.” (Matthew 11:5)

Our ninth prayer point for today is a prayer for healing. Sickness, mental illness, and sin has taken hold of so many. Let us come together and pray for the vulnerable and needy. Let us seek God’s face and humbly ask that he heal our friends and family. Pray for by name those who are sick and in need of God’s healing touch.

Be sure to stay tuned throughout the day as we post more prayer points. And also make sure to join us today at 5:30pm as we break our fasts and enjoy a family meal. Worship and the word to follow at 6:30pm! See you then!

“Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; free them from the hand of the wicked.” (Psalm 82:3-4)

Our eighth prayer point today is for God to fight the injustice and oppression we see in our culture. This is a hotly debated topic, but one thing that cannot be debated is that we as believers have a heart for the broken, poor, and destitute. Let us pray that God would administer his mercy, grace, and justice to those who are in need. Let us pray that we as his people would humbly step forward and seek to repair racial and socio-economic divides that the world has created.

Be sure to stay tuned throughout the day as we post more prayer points. And also make sure to join us today at 5:30pm as we break our fasts and enjoy a family meal. Worship and the word to follow at 6:30pm! See you then!

First Responders.mp4

“And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.” (Jeremiah 29:7)

Our seventh prayer point for today is for our community leaders and first responders. During this chaotic time, many of these men and women have endured a great deal of pain, suffering, and ridicule. Let us as believers pray for a revival in their hearts. Let us be inspired to come alongside our community and lift them up. Let us pray together for God to comfort, restore, and rebuild what has been broken.

Be sure to stay tuned throughout the day as we post more prayer points. And also make sure to join us today at 5:30pm as we break our fasts and enjoy a family meal. Worship and the word to follow at 6:30pm! See you then!

The Unborn.mp4

“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am still with You.” (Psalm 139:13-18)

Our fifth prayer point for the day is for the unborn children. We know that our God is a God of LIFE. He is intimately connected to every second of our life from conception to death. As people who care about what God cares about, we care for the unborn. We desire for every child conceived to be cared for from birth on. Pray with us for those women who feel like abortion is their only option. Let us be moved with compassion for them. Let us also pray for the works of evil to be thwarted by the loving yet powerful presence of God.

Be sure to stay tuned throughout the day as we post more prayer points. And also make sure to join us today at 5:30pm as we break our fasts and enjoy a family meal. Worship and the word to follow at 6:30pm! See you then!

Education.mp4

“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea.” (Mark 9:42)

Our fourth prayer point today is for education in our city. These are intense words from Jesus, however they reveal the heart of God for our children. He is passionate about the innocence of our children, their growth, and them growing up in an environment that seeks to lift them up. Let us pray today for our teachers, faculty members, and parents as they seek to guide and direct these children.

Be sure to stay tuned throughout the day as we post more prayer points. And also make sure to join us today at 5:30pm as we break our fasts and enjoy a family meal. Worship and the word to follow at 6:30pm! See you then!

“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts. I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works.” (Psalm 145:3-5)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our third prayer to the Lord today is that we would love him with all our heart, soul, and strength. That we would consider WHO he is before we ask him to act or do anything on our behalf. Join us today as we pray that we would grow in a deeper love for God and his greatness.

Salvation.mp4

“... that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10-11)

Our second prayer for today is that God would bring salvation to those who are far off from Him. We desire to pray that all would come to an understanding of His grace, and that every knee and tongue would testify to his salvation. That takes a work of God in the hearts of people around us, but it also takes a boldness for us to obey Jesus and go out into the world to proclaim his name.

Be sure to stay tuned throughout the day as we post more prayer points. And also make sure to join us today at 5:30pm as we break our fasts and enjoy a family meal. Worship and the word to follow at 6:30pm! See you then!

“.. if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Our first prayer for today is that we individually and collectively as believers would humble ourselves before a mighty God, and seek His face. There can be no transformation without restoration. There can be no restoration without repentance. So let us pray to Jesus for his love to wash over us as we bring our sins to him.

Be sure to stay tuned throughout the day as we post more prayer points. And also make sure to join us today at 5:30pm as we break our fasts and enjoy a family meal. Worship and the word to follow at 6:30pm! See you then!

Tomorrow is PRAY ALL DAY! A day to seek God together through prayer and fasting. Join us at 6:30am to kick it off, then stay updated on social media throughout the day for our prayer points. Then, we will gather for our midweek service at 5:30 to eat, fellowship, and worship Jesus together.
