Oceanhills Covenant Church

http://www.oceanhills.org We are a "come as you are, imperfect people allowed" church. We crave an authentic relationship with our God... and YOU!

Regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey, we want you here! We believe God is here offering us forgiveness and friendship, hope and help, as we walk together in the way of Christ. We are a church that wants to keep things simple. We believe that Love wins! So, we are all about loving God and loving one another and extending His love to people around the world! It's okay to have doubts and questions It's okay to be here and not have your act together - few of us do It's okay to enjoy yourself here and celebrate God's amazing love Our Core Values- it’s in our DNA We are most fully alive when we live beyond ourselves Love others when they least expect it and least deserve it... Have fun along the way…we must keep laughing! Come as you are, but don’t stay as you are Small things done with great love makes a big difference. Everything we do is an experiment. No perfect people allowed... but just to be clear—Jesus is welcome! Be the change you want to see in the church and the world. Build strategic partnerships: across the street & around the world. Road trips—enough said!

Mission: Helping people find and follow Christ.

[12/20/20]   A life of following Jesus Christ is sure to have moments, seasons, even years of unanswered prayer. At what point should the Christian just stop praying? Pastor Jon takes us back to the days before Jesus' birth to give a word of encouragement to those who are weary from waiting.

What might God do in the next 11 days as He hears your BOLD PRAYER?

God is always up to something even if we can’t see it. Oceanhills Women’s ministry is carrying on with our Advent tradition and have curated 3 stories from women in our God family as they reflect on Advent. Although we are unable to gather together around the table this year at the Advent Brunch, we encourage you to engage with these stories!

God has purposely slowed us down to enjoy all he has creatively created  - for us, in us, and around us. As we make our way through the 2020 Advent season, we are reminded of all the many ways we are blessed through ...

Oceanhills Family! It’s Giving Tuesday!

Please take a moment and ask God to guide you. If He leads, we invite you to give to Oceanhills today. Thank you!

Find the “Giving Tuesday!” button in our Link in Bio.

2 Corinthians 9:7-8 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

[11/29/20]   Ever notice how some of Jesus' greatest discipleship moments happened as he took his followers outside their comfort zone? Pastor Jon examines the stories of Mount of Transfiguration, the disciples in the boat, and Emmaus road to find three lessons we can apply from Jesus-centered road trips.

How will you respond?
How has God used a “road trip” in your life to help you to grow & become more like Jesus?

What road trip could you say “Yes” to go on in the next year and with who?

What would it take for you to initiate & invite a few friends on a relational & spiritually minded road trip to help you all grow closer to God & each other?

Happy Thanksgiving Oceanhills! We are so thankful for you all! May God bless you and your family. ❤️

Love,
Jon, Oceanhills Staff & Leadership Team

Remember that time when Oceanhills Church participated in the LA Marathon with the goal of raising money for communities all over the world to receive clean water resources?! Seems like forever ago!

Well..... Team World Vision IS BACK with another opportunity for us, our church family, and friends.

For over 20 years Oceanhills family and friends have gathered on Thanksgiving morning to walk for water. This year is no exception. Please plan to join us THIS Thursday at 8:30am at the bottom of Milpas on the beach side of Cabrillo Blvd. We will wear masks and walk for water 6 feet apart. $50 provides clean water for one child (for life) in the DR Congo. Our goal this year is to sponsor 25 children -click on the link in bio to bring water & health to a child in the DR Congo.

If you’re in town, join us 😎

The Trail Map: A Life of RESPONSIVENESS to God

Our walk with God doesn't get very far without a heart and mind ready to respond to his love, his word, and his Spirit. Pastor Jon explores Romans, Ephesians, Hebrews and a few other key passages to illustrate how we can live responsive lives to Jesus here, today, in Santa Barbara.

How will you RESPOND?
1. Say YES to God’s love… begin a relationship with Him…
2. Say Yes to God’s Word –To start reading it & let it fill you with comfort, shape your character…& confirm your calling.
3. Say YES to God’s Spirit –to start listening & paying attention to the Holy Spirit guiding & leading you through the nudges & checks

To date, Oceanhills, in partnership with @adamsangels @sbact and @showersofblessing has packed and distributed 4700 bags of nonperishable groceries to unsheltered people in the SB area! The latest addition to the food bag collaborative? 400 blankets donated to help keep these neighbors warm. God’s working in our community! 🥳😍

Love Everyone Always Face masks are still available for purchase! They are $5 each.

Thanks for your understnading!

A message from Pastor Jon this morning! So sorry we can’t be together today!

We are devastated to inform you that we have to cancel church at the Polo Fields, tomorrow, Sunday November 15th.  Earlier today the staff at the polo fields contacted us and let us know that, due to the recent surge in COVID, the county has created standards that we can no longer meet.

Unfortunately, in light of this new information, we came to the hard decision as an executive team that our best option is to cancel this event.

We really apologize for the inconvenience and sadness we know this will cause.  All of our hearts are heavy and so disappointed… we were so looking forward to worshiping together in such a special and unique venue.

We are attempting to use every channel to get the word out, but if you are connected with someone who was planning to attend, and may not be reached by email, social media, or the Oceanhills app, please help us by communicating this change to them.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

In it together,
Pastor Jon Ireland and The Oceanhills Staff

Church at the Polo Fields this Sunday at 11am! See you there!

The Trail Map: ReFraming the Impossible

Life doesn't always happen the way we expect it to. The Bible is full of stories and people that knew this all too well. Today, Pastor Jon teaches about the Jesus-follower's power to reframe. In need of some hope beyond life's present circumstances? THIS one's for you.

A slight change can make a big difference.
