Why we do it ...Long but worth checking out While providing first aid for #TulsaHomelessCommunity we use a large amount of Ketchup sized individual use packets we give away of Triple antibiotic ointment, hand wipes alcohol wipes, sting relief wipes, hand lotion, insect repellent socks. These are 1st aid products we absolutely need and cannot do without ,they bring relief and comfort in unbearable situations to most people. The Humans, the people, the forgotten and shunned from society we administer first aid too, need what Wanda and i provide. The longest you've bragged about going camping before running out of food and going home, desperately needing a shower because your stench is getting to not your friends (they smell bad too) but you yourself is paltry and dismal to someone living in tent city w/out a tent on the river, in wooded areas and alleys of downtown #Tulsa.with no home to go too. Running in the driving rain with or without a rain coat makes you look weak to someone with nowhere to run too so they just stand and take it and watch you run to cover because the merchants don't want a wet dirty smelly person crowding out their Fine establishment. The absolute minimum basic needs of a human are shelter. water, food, can actually live without everything else Some temporarily #homeless people are actually just displaced due to being a disowned teen,House burned to the grownd, storms, breakup, car wreck or break down leading to loosing their job, loss of job,off job injury w/ lack of insurance etc... they have financially limited family and friends to help them through it though if their situation isn't rectified soon they can spiral down to almost permanent homelessness once the severity of their situation leads to depression and this is where i can say Brother, sister I BEEN THERE, I KNOW how you FEEL. How the hell can you get food when your broke and the average person won't even look at you for fear you're a bad guy or somehow you'll wear off on them. Where do you sleep with no job or roof over your head when the car you were living in is impounded by the cops for out of date tags How the hell can you find a job when your cleanest or only pair of jeans are stained like you work on cars for a living oh and you stink cause it's summer and you haven't bathed in longer than you care to admit to your mom or best friend. My wife and i split in 96 which threw me into a tail spin. I shut down my janitorial business including a lucrative contract with Philbrook museum i built from ground up.I sold everything she didn't want bought a backpack and hitch hiked to panama city beach where a ride i hitched drove off with my back pack and everything i owned except some money and the clothes on my back..My depression increased ten fold till a local christian business owner who had heard my story offered my stinky ass a dish washing job and unlike the other employees, paying me cash daily I went back years later to thank her for what she did for me but she had passed on. Then there are the permanently homeless with no local or any family or friends to help at all, these people where born or plagued with mental issues and cannot hold a job, shelter or feed themselves and yet grew up or even grew old in spite of Go ahead and scream WOW when i grow up i want to be JUST LIKE THEM. These are the people we cater too, provide 1st aid too and i am humbled every friday night by. Wanda Sanders and i have been using stocked medical supplies from our teetering First aid business and we need to replenish desperately needed supplies that can only be purchased and not just concerned individuals like you We have access through our 1st aid business to buy bulk wholesale first aid supplies thereby saving money Wanda is a BEAUTIFUL soul who wants to help everyone and probably why i love her so much and me, well i've been there. I am a noncombat veteran so i can't tell one "Hey bro i know how you feel" BUT,at 57 years old i can say to the youngest and oldest of ALMOST ALL homeless people Damn brother i know how you feel We have removed stitches, seen diabetic ulcers on rotting feet, cleaned old dirty gashes, cleaned dirty feet and given fresh socks to those with even no socks. They use our hand wipes on our advice to wipe their pits, crotch and feet as a crude bath We have given away several hundred $$ retail value of tylenol, aspirin, bandages, foot powder, skin lotion ace bandages and a complete list of just other First Aid Supplies I have a permanent homeless man who saw me having trouble walking has been helping me by getting me drinks and getting our bags from the truck etc.. while my back is healing from injury PEEPS I am my brothers keeper and we need first aid supplies to continue what has been placed by the Lord in front of us Most of my friends are strapped i know that i am too but we ALL know someone who could or is willing and most importantly able to help and we need three of them #HomelessTulsan's are in need of the Valuable power of a Facebook LIKE and SHARE, or financial or volunteer help.
Is there a # I can call to speak to someone who works or runs this organization. Thanks to anyone who reads and responds. Loooked and looked and no luck

Search & Rescue is a ministry with a heart for people who have fallen through the cracks of society. When those people are reaching up and grasping for someone to help, Search & Rescue is there to show them the LOVE OF GOD with a hot meal, clothing, toiletries, coats, and blankets. After their physical needs are met, we tell them about Jesus who sent us out to continue to do and teach as He did. You can find us on the streets of downtown Tulsa, OK, every Friday night feeding the homeless and hungry.

Fridays in October

Friday, August 23, 2019
We had Chicken and Dumplings and quite a crowd. These were the only pics and that is because I did it between dipping up bowls!
Powerful night!

We received these shoes and have been distributing them on Friday nights. The shoes are a huge blessing!

☺️ Relationships, connections, people. We need each other.

☺️ Recently a friend of mine mentioned she had an over abundance (like 50😳) of practically brand new size 8-13 men’s tennis shoes she wanted to give away to help others. In an instant I knew exactly where these shoes needed to my friend Jerred that feeds and ministers to the downtown homeless (mostly men) every Friday night.

☺️ Guess what?? Jerred told me (when he picked up the shoes) he and his wife had been praying for shoes to come into their ministry. (Search & Rescue Outreach Ministry) How awesome is that!!🤣

I ❤️ love how God puts All our relationships, connections and people together to fulfill His purpose. 🙌

Tulsa Police Department

This homeless woman was caught stealing from the QT at 15th and Denver and Officer in Training Cribbs found her hiding in the bushes in an adjacent yard.

After several minutes of negotiation Officer Cribbs was able to get her to voluntarily leave the safety of the bushes and sign her citation for Petit Larceny.

There are numerous homeless people in and around Tulsa, please do not give money directly to any homeless person you come across.

There are numerous non-profit and religious organizations that offer support for our homeless population. We do encourage you to support these organizations, as your charitable contribution will go much further.

If you have an organization that you like, please list it in the comments.

Be safe and be aware.

This Friday we served Chili. Pastor Jerred Kubalek preached about love. We gave a blanket to each person who asked for one as well as passing out socks, underwear, coats, and other clothing and hygiene items.
After we packed everything up we still had some bowls of food so we took it to some people who are staying under a bridge. On the way to the bridge we got flagged down by a group of people and gave away the rest of the men's coats we had, lots of socks and stocking caps and a homemade fruit snack to each one.
What a great night!

Friday night was wet. We didn't set up anything outside the truck and all but a handful of our volunteers stayed on the truck to serve food and hot tea. We had a steady trickle of people come to us in the rain to get food, clothes, blankets, socks, and other things for almost an hour.
After that we took the remaining food to people staying under bridges. As we fed the people we found under the bridges, we gave away blankets and jackets; one lady began to cry when she received a tarp and we were able to pray for her!

Friday, February 16, 2018
We started the night with an extra long time of Praise and Worship. Then Pastor Jerred preached about God's love. We passed out blankets and clothing before we left to give away the rest of the food.
We drove through downtown and fed a few people in parking lots and walking down the streets before we went under the bridges. The last picture is of Pastor Jerred praying for a man who was living under a bridge. We fed these people and gave them pillows, blankets, and coats. Our prayer is that in receiving these things they saw the goodness of God which leads to repentance.
We had served all of the hot food and we pulled into an empty parking lot to close our night in prayer. As we said "amen" There were a handful of people waiting at the window. We offered them some snacks and they accepted. One of the men needed to talk and get prayer for his situation and Pastor Jerred took the time to counsel him and pray.

We had lots of volunteers and a good crowd of people this warm night. Pastor Jerred preached about how unforgiven and judging others are the handcuffs the enemy uses to keep us from living a victorious life. Several people received prayer and had breakthrough tonight! We gave away all of the blankets we had to people sleeping outside. Great night!

Crazy cold this night! We served up comfort food: Potato Soup. Many kept warm by the propane heaters. We were blessed to be able to give away sleeping bags that were donated earlier in the day!

First Friday of 2018 and we had a strong crowd!

Friday, December 29, 2017
Last Friday of 2017! We had a strong night and everyone who asked for a blanket walked away with one.

Friday, December 22, 2017
A cold wet night. We were blessed that the pouring rain stopped right before we pulled up to our spot. We set up chairs and a propane heater for the people who were already gathered and began serving hot tea. After Pastor Jerred prayed the food (Pork and Cabbage stew with rice) was served and there was preaching followed by prayer then clothing and grocery distribution. Everyone who came received hand and body warmers to use in the coldest part of the night to keep from freezing. The rain started again and turned into sleet before we left.
We still had over a dozen bowls of food and some groceries to pass out. We took them to an apartment building where we have fed people before and they were so happy to receive the food we gave them.

Friday, December 15, 2017
We saw many familiar faces tonight. One man who is a regular told us he got his job back. He shared that at times when he was feeling low he would think about Ps. Kristi singing Praise and Worship and the things that Ps. Jerred says and it would bring him hope! God is with us! God is for us!

Friday, December 8, 2017
It was a cold night but there was no wind and we brought out propane heaters to keep warm. We had plenty of warm things to pass out after the preaching--Thank you to everyone who made sure we got socks, gloves, jackets, blankets, and more this past week!

[12/05/17]   Someone just requested an updated list of our most needed items so here it is:

Men's coats and jackets
Hand warmers
Men's jeans
Men's and Women's underwear
Hygiene items: shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, lotion, chapstick

(We always welcome any clothing donation. The items listed are things we have been giving away more and more as the weather turns colder.)
