Strawberry Creek Quaker Meeting

Passing along this news.

Dear Friends,

Marie Schutz, member of Redwood Forest Friends Meeting and longtime resident of Friends House died peacefully early this morning. She had taken a major turn for the worse on Sunday and we arranged for Hospice care on Tuesday. All the family had beautiful visits with her in these last few days and we all participated in person or by facetime in the lovely singaway that took place at Friends House this morning. She lived a good, long and loving life and will be sorely missed. Please pass the news along to others. She was treasured by many.

SFMM Monthly Newsletter Eighth Month

SFMM Monthly Newsletter Eighth Month - Life is meant to be lived from a Center, a divine Center… a life of unhurried peace and power. It is simple. It is serene. It takes no time, but it occupies all our time.

BREAKING NEWS: Discounts for families and young adult Friends are coming to the 2019 FGC Gathering!!! This is THE year to bring your family to the FGC Gathering!

This new online course is an opportunity for Quaker clerks around the world to learn together. We will consider the clerk’s role before, during and after a Meeting for Worship for Business and look at the differing styles of clerking around the Quaker world.

Our meeting has purchased a group pass to Eileen Flanagan’s online class on building nonviolent direct action campaigns. We met last night to watch the lesson and discuss. We will meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm. Contact us if you would like to join in on the conversation. This class was truly great. It got our entire team thinking in new ways, opening vistas of what we can do & how to do it. I strongly recommend this class. It was exactly what I needed as a newbie to NVDA. Eileen's deep experience was invaluable. She has truly "been there & done that"
