The Council, and the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church, the agency from which Tawanda Chandiwana received his Christian commission, are launching a worldwide campaign to call public attention to the plight of Tawanda and two other missionaries who were in the country fulfilling their commission to show God’s love in the world.
Despite continuing efforts by the staff of the local regional United Methodist conference, Philippines-based attorneys and officials with The United Methodist Church, Mr. Chandiwana of Mutare, Zimbabwe, Adam Shaw of Brunswick, Ohio, and Miracle Osman of Blantyre, Malawi, have experienced repeated difficulties getting the legal documents and clearance they need to leave the Republic of the Philippines.

going to be "spiffing" up this great building on its way to a new purpose...
The Waller Center is an urban retreat and community center nestled in the neighborhood of Cole Valley and adjacent to Haight Ashbury. We officially opened our doors to the community on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012.
Renovations to our building began in September of 2017, and we hope to finish up by April of 2018. With a new roof, structural rebuilds, stucco, seismic upgrades and a few coats of paint, you may not recognize us! The Waller Center is operating under the Board of Camping and Retreat Ministries of the Cal-Nev Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
We currently house the Haight Ashbury Food Pantry and will be starting up several new community classes that we hope will serve as many people in our area as possible.
