We LOVE coffee around here but even more we love to share it with our neighbors. Coffee at the curbside is happening in the Tenderloin right now to keep the tensions down and to practice good hospitality. Thank you @sflighthouse for the donation of coffee makers and to @saintfrankcoffee for the supply of coffee to keep this “grinding” during this pandemic.
Join @ywamsf & @restorationinitiatives for our virtual Lunch and Learn this coming Wednesday! Tune in to hear an update on what is going on in the Tenderloin right now. See you there! Click the link in the @ywamsf profile to let us know you’ll be there (and in order to get the zoom link!).

Steve Binnquist, the Restoration Initiatives Team Director, shares about what he is thankful for during Covid-19 in Spring of 2020.
We are so thankful for the many volunteers who have given their time and compassion to help us run the Food Pantry. No matter what happens in the world, people still need to eat and we are so thankful that God can use all of us to feed those who need it most.
What’s one service you are thankful for whether you use it or someone else uses it?
Repost from @becausejusticematters
We have to get creative this season with capturing time together and staying connected to one another.
What’s one creative way you are planning to connect with a friend or family this weekend?
It’s been two weeks since San Francisco issued a shelter-in-place mandate. Since then we’ve seen organizations rise up and meet needs of people whose disenfranchisement is amplified due to this health crisis. At YWAM SF, we’re still running showers (of course, with intense sanitation modifications) and hosting the food pantry with no contact modifications. It’s a challenging time for so many and for many different reasons. Let’s continue to fight for thankfulness and intercede for those less privileged. We are in this together if we allow ourselves to be. And remember- stay home. @ YWAM San Francisco
Because Justice Matters
To those of you who are finding creative ways to give back to your community, we see you. You’re not alone. 💚
Meet Steve Binnquist, the director of Restoration Initiatives at YWAM San Francisco & a member of our BJM community who is providing services to our friends experiencing homelessness in new (& socially-distanced) ways.
“For a community that’s already in stress & isolation, COVID-19 compounds that. This makes a vulnerable population even more vulnerable,” says Steve. “Disruptions in routines & increased uncertainty around resources like food & shelter add more weight to the stress & trauma of being unhoused.”
Looking for ways to stand in solidarity with our unhoused neighbors? YWAM is welcoming financial donations to keep programs running, as well as undergarments for men & women. The Ellis Room is also open on a limited basis for showers Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays from 9:30-12. 🚿 For more information on how to give back, see our response to COVID-19: https://bit.ly/bjmresponse.
Due to COVID-19 and the mandate to limit services, we cannot host volunteer day in March to the capacity in which we would like too. If you are interested in volunteering in this time contact [email protected] and he can direct you in this time. Thank you for your understanding and be wise and safe. 🙏🏾
The power of a shower.
Many of us, in light of covid-19, are able to stay home and take a warm shower. It’s not something we really have to think about, it is just part of our daily lives. We can be grateful for that. But for many of our friends, this is not the case. There is no “home” to return to and no warm shower ready to be used. As a response to this hygienic need, YWAM SF and @restorationinitiatives will be operating our showers with limited staff. We are bleaching and disinfecting after each shower and taking suggested precautions to keep both ourselves and our friends free from sickness. .
As you’re sitting at home with netflix, homeschooling your kids, catching up on some reading, etc please remember us... in your prayers, especially. And please consider making a donation to the work we do, even at a time like this (link in profile). Thank you for your continued and thoughtful support. We love you and stay safe out there (or should we say “in” your home!)!
Cross post @ywamsf

Monday in San Francisco 🌉💕
Have you ever wondered how else you can give to our work in the Tenderloin? Maybe you would love to help but aren’t able to take a morning off of work to volunteer in The Ellis Room. Or maybe your Saturdays are too full in this season to join us for a Volunteer Day. Don’t lose hope! Our ministry benefits from your generous monetary donation as well as clothing donations. Ever come across an underwear sale at your favorite clothing store? Keep us in mind! We could always use men’s and women’s underwear of various sizes. In fact, underwear is one of our most requested items! We could also always use t-shirts and pants all year!
Thank you so much for your continued partnership and support so far this year! DM us if you’d like to give or visit our website- link in profile.
Movie Day! Every Wednesday from 2-4pm at @ywamsf we have Movie Day! Come for popcorn, community and some laughs!
Our brother-in-Christ, Paul Salamy, leads our tenderloin friends in fellowship and bible study every Monday evening. @transformklub provides an opportunity for visitors to go a little deeper in their knowledge of God and his love for them.
It’s that time again!
We would love your gently used clothing. Here are the specific needs of our community- men’s and women’s:
-shirts (long and short-sleeved)
-belts (m, l, xl)
-coats (preferably large to xxl)
-*new* underwear of all sizes
It would mean so much to us to receive you or your church’s gently used items that fall into these categories. Unfortunately, we cannot use children’s clothes, but can suggest a Pregnancy center for you to donate them to. PLEASE DM US to setup a drop-off time. Thank you for your generosity!
Most of these clothes will be distributed during our Volunteer Day which is on Saturday, October 19th. If you, your church group or friend group are interested in volunteering for this wonderful day of service, please email us at [email protected]. We would love to give you more information!
It was a great day today, cutting hair with @setthayaboy ! Do *you* know how to cut hair? Come join us as a volunteer. Email us for more info!
“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.”
