TONIGHT via Zoom, 7-9 pm ET! Sign up: https://isgo.iands.org/meeting/iands-book-club-with-author-andrea-courey/ "Conversations with Chloe: A Mother and Daughter Dialogue across the Veil" details the intimate conversation between Andrea and her daughter Chloe, that began six weeks after Chloe’s death in 2016. Begun as a simple letter from a mother to a daughter to help deal with the loss, the first words of Chloe’s response, ‘Mom, you are so easy to find that it’s a joke’ jolted Andrea out of grief and onto a journey of healing, wonder and knowing that there is only life after life. This conversation, which took place over five months, reveals truths about the afterlife, the power of apology and forgiveness, and the reality that only the physical body is discarded. The soul lives, thrives, is close by and ever loving. May this uncommon dialogue offer hope and comfort and the knowing that all is as it should be. Reading the book not necessary to join the meeting.
This is a cry for help - In 2008 I withdrew from the Women’s Spirituality program before the deadline and I saved ALL documentation of my TIMELY withdraw owing zero dollars to the school which they provided documentation of back in 2008 — Mara Keller, Chip Goldstein and Dan Gruler were the officers on all the documentation of this timely withdraw — and now 14 years later CIIS sent a claim against me to collections! Besides being past the legal statute of limitations, I’m shocked CIIS and this program would stand for these unethical business practices of student accounts and Issac Ojikutu’s department — he actually hired abusive goons who personally accost me on a daily basis despite the FACT that 14 years ago CIIS validated that I OWE $0. 14 YEARS AGO! I have an attorney at this point - This Issac refuses to prove his case against me and ignores my documentation that CIIS provided 14 years ago! - no officials at the school will even hear my case. Is anyone at this school or in this program truly invested in upholding social justice? To allow a desperate money grab by the business and student account team is egregious and extremely marginalizing and because I’m a woman of poverty without power in the CIIS machine no one with any authority there will even hear my case. This is down right demoralizing. Will anyone stand up to help?

TODAY, 4-6pm ET via Zoom…SOUL BARED, the near-death experience of David Oakford. A big-time partier, David wanted one last blow-out with friends before leaving home to find happiness. One drug proved fatal. Slumped over in a chair, David got up to find the house empty, but noise still going on. In the bathroom, he looked in the mirror in horror to find he could not see himself! Nor could he espape the house…until he called on God for help. His afterlife journey is even more incredible, journeying around the world and space in seconds with his angelic guide, and later learning the truth of mysteries that puzzle humanity. DO NOT MISS THIS ONE!!! IANDS Book Club with author David Oakford – https://isgo.iands.org/meeting/iands-book-club-with-author-david-oakford/
Special added event…Thursday, May 27,7-9 pm ET via Zoom… Marcus Aurelius has nothing on Kelvin Chin! Or, perhaps the two have had a melding of minds across the centuries! Regardless, both have proven to be masters at helping people overcome the challenges of life to be their best selves possible. Kelvin's book is an updated version of Aurelius' 2nd century book, "Meditations." Culled from his NDE and STEs, Kelvin has penned 67 of his own essays on emotions, life principles, meditation, and the spiritual; plus insights into love, forgiveness, pursuit of happiness, free will, destiny, and the meaning of life. Go to isgo.iands.org and in the search box, type “Kelvin Chin” to sign-up.
Tonight my personal friend Janet Tarantino will be the IANDS Visiting Authors guest speaker. After many years of silence and pondering her three near-death experiences, Janet has recently begun to share her story. Believe me, that’s not an easy thing to do, especially when things others would consider impossible actually happened, as they did to Janet! During those years before opening up, Janet worked on reconciling her Christian faith with the teachings given to her by God, Jesus and angels during her NDEs. Find out from Janet what it truly all boils down to! Also, find out what gift Janet returned with from one of her NDEs….and the surprising NEW teaching Janet will divulge about light orbs!

I sure hope you can make it. Time is 7-9pm ET tonight. Sign-up via the Zoom link (you can sign-up right until 7pm): IANDS Book Club with author Janet Tarantino – https://isgo.iands.org/meeting/iands-book-club-with-author-janet-tarantino/

Remember, you DO NOT need to purchase or read the book to participate…but I’m finding most participants can’t wait to read it once they hear the author 😊.

The Old European Roots of Women's Circle Dance
In traditional contexts, women's circle dances provide an embodied experience of community-oriented values including solidarity, shared leadership, mutual support, and a culture of peace. Archaeomythologist Marija Gimbutas associated these values with the egalitarian Neolithic civilisations she explored, and these are precisely the values which humanity needs to activate to ensure a viable future for our planet. Women's ritual dances of the Balkans belong to an oral tradition which has been handed down through female generations through thousands of years, as Elizabeth Wayland Barber has shown. Laura Shannon has spent over thirty years learning these dances from grandmothers in villages in Greece and the Balkans, with a unique focus on the symbolic 'language' of dance and textile patterns reflecting the image of the Old European Goddess.
This illustrated talk suggests that the open circle of the ritual dance may represent a symbolic womb through which dancers experience a metaphorical journey of life, death, and rebirth, particularly through spiral dances associated with springtime. The sacred centre of the circle may be understood as a symbolic omphalós or navel, with the danced path as an umbilicus connecting dancers to the life-giving Mother Earth. Bread ovens in these cultures are often also shaped like an omphalós: the community is nourished with vitality both through the women's dance, and by the bread the women bake.
Traditional women's ritual circle dances have relevance not only as living descendants of Old European Goddess cultures, but because of the insights and wisdom they offer participants today.

Considered a ‘grandmother’ of the worldwide Sacred/Circle Dance movement, Laura Shannon has been researching, teaching, and writing about traditional women’s dances for over thirty years. With degrees in Dance Therapy, Intercultural Studies, and Myth, Cosmology and the Sacred, Laura is a faculty member of the Findhorn Foundation Sacred Dance Department, honorary lifetime member of the Sacred Dance Guild, and Founding Director of the Athena Institute for Women’s Dance and Culture.

Genamegk N’uwisuti ag E’pitewoguom / Preservation of Indigenous Language and Women’s Traditions

This presentation will share insights from Grandmother’s understanding of our creation and the importance of language to oral traditions. The acknowledged, deep, love we hold for the Earth, our Mother, is experienced within the ceremony in our Bodies, cycles of our Life, and Consciousness made Whole by our language. Our ancient societies were mother centered and mother-based; motherhood is the foundation of our ancestral ways. What does it mean and why is this knowledge so important for our communities today? The feminine lens of our Clanmothers and Grandmothers provide deeper understanding ourSelves, of our History, Values, Beliefs and Practices. All through our History, it was understood women were the life-givers and the first teachers.

As these oral traditions indicate, our indigenous language expressions are reflections of all that we know; this is the Way of our living Cultural Life.

Miigam’agan is a Wabanaki/Mi’kmaw grandmother of the Jagej Clan from Esgenoôpetitj/ Burnt Church also known as Atlantic Canada. She is a mother of three wonderful people and a grandmother to four beautiful grandchildren. Her life has been devoted in rematriation of Wabanaki languages and maricultural systems. Miigam'agan is an appointed tribal subchief in her ancestral Gespegawagi Tribal Council. She also holds a position as the Elder-in-Residence at St. Thomas University in Fredericton, NB, a role in which she provides support for Indigenous students and offers opportunities for the students and faculty to learn from Indigenous knowledge keepers. Miigam’agan sits on the national steering committee on Adult Education Initiatives for the Catherine Donnelly Foundation and a co-chair for the Wapna'kikewi'skwaq/Women of First Light, an Indigenous women-led organization on adult education for radical social change.

We just heard the sad news of the passing of one of the foremothers of the women's spirituality movement, Carol P. Christ.

We were deeply honoured to have her endorse two of our books this year, Muddy Mysticism and Walking with Persephone. She is also featured in one of our forthcoming titles.

We are deeply grateful for her work.

"Carol Patrice Christ (born in California, United States on December 20, 1945) was a feminist historian, thealogian, author, and foremother of the Goddess movement. She obtained her PhD from Yale University and has served as a professor in universities such as Columbia University and Harvard Divinity School.

Her best-known publication is "Why Women Need The Goddess". It was initially a keynote presentation at the "Great Goddess Re-emerging" conference" at the University of Santa Cruz in 1978. This essay helped to launch the Goddess movement in the USA and other countries. It discusses the importance of religious symbols in general, and the effects of male symbolism of God on women in particular. Christ called herself a "thealogian" and as such has made an important contribution to the discipline of theology, significantly helping to create a space for it to be far more inclusive of women than has historically been the case. The term "thealogy" is derived from Ancient Greek θεά (theá, “goddess”) + -logy.

Christ wrote five influential books on women's spirituality and feminist theology and was a co-editor of two classic anthologies: "Weaving the Visions: New Patterns in Feminist Spirituality" (1989); and "Womanspirit Rising" (1979/1989). The latter included her essay Why Women Need the Goddess. Both anthologies included feminist religious writing from writers from a very diverse range of religious backgrounds.

As director of the Ariadne Institute, she conducted pilgrimages to sacred sites in Greece containing artifacts of matriarchal religion. She was for many years been a resident of the Greek island of Le**os, the home of the poet Sappho." (from Wikipedia)

A beloved daughter of the Goddess who contributed so much to Her rising in these times. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family and the many, many people she influenced with her writing, speaking and tours of Crete. Rest well in the arms of the Mother, you have transitioned to a beloved Ancestor.

What women owe le***ans - Merched Cymru 07/13/2021

What women owe le***ans - Merched Cymru

"I now believe that having women in my life who role-modelled a radical separateness from men, freedom from the nuclear family structure, tight-knit community and political awareness made me so lucky. I grew up straight ... but never thought I had to be. I grew up knowing I did not have to have children, that I could pursue my academic and artistic ambitions, that I did not have to view myself through men’s eyes, and that I did not have to accept male violence. In short, I grew up knowing that I could just be me.

I lament the loss of radical feminist and le***an spaces because they are wonderful but also, from a self-centred point of view, I wonder what would have become of me and my mum had she not had those friends as my dad revealed himself to be manipulative, mad and abusive.

Choosing to live without a man will always be a radical act in a patriarchal society and women as a social-class and as political stakeholders benefit from the empowerment of women who love women. We should cherish le***ans and recognise that their disempowerment and their erasure is the canary in the coalmine for women’s rights. Radical le***ans have always been front and centre in the women’s liberation movement, pushing for the rights of women to have sexual autonomy, freedom from male violence and protection for their children. I am convinced, my mum’s own skills and supportive family notwithstanding, that my life would have been poorer and scarier without her le***an friends and her radical feminist community."

What women owe le***ans - Merched Cymru I wrote this because I don't think straight women always realise what a debt of gratitude we owe to le***ans. This is my attempt at saying 'thank you'. I was born in the spring of 1984, three years after Prince Charles wed Lady Di and three years after my eighteen-year-old mum waved goodbye to her s...

“We do not become healers.
We came as healers. We are.
Some of us are still catching up to what we are.
We do not become storytellers.
We came as carriers of the stories that we and our ancestors actually lived. We are.
Some of us are still catching up to what we are.
We do not become artists. We came as artists. We are.
Some of us are still catching up to what we are.
We do not become writers.. dancers.. musicians.. helpers.. peacemakers. We came as such. We are.
Some of us are still catching up to what we are.
We do not learn to love in this sense.
We came as Love.
We are Love.
Some of us are still catching up to who we truly are.”
