[06/03/21]   Magain David is reopening for services on Shabbat June 12

Dear Congregants,

The Board of Magain David is pleased to inform you that Magain David will be reopening for Shabbat services on the Shabbat of June 12.

For now, we will only be open for the Shabbat morning service and no luncheon will be offered. We hope to progressively go back to our full Shabbat services and daily morning services.

The service and Torah reading will be done by Rami Cohen.

As we mentioned in previous newsletters, we want to make sure that everyone who comes to the synagogue will be able to do so as safely as possible.

In order to do so, we strongly urge anyone who wants to come to Magain David to get vaccinated as soon as possible, and to join those of us who already are, otherwise we ask you to refrain from attending services until you are fully vaccinated. We ask congregants to show us or send us proof of vaccination before they join our services.

Please send us a photo of your vaccination card by email or text (you can blur out the birth date if that is a concern) or show it to any member of the board. Thank you to the members who have already done so.

We will follow the city guidelines as much as possible for indoor events and require the following:
-People must be vaccinated

-People must wear masks at all time (we will have some available if you don’t have one with you)

-A maximum of 25 Men and 15 Women can be inside the synagogue as permitted by the current seating arrangements

-Windows will stay open during the service for proper ventilation

-The way the service is conducted will be modified to be in line with social distancing

-People who are sick with fever or other flu symptoms should not come

Please feel free to reach out to us with any comments or questions.

Thank you as always for supporting Magain David and we hope to be all together soon.

- The Board of Directors

[05/20/21]   Dear Congregants,

The board of Magain David is currently in the process of reopening the synagogue for regular services. We do not know yet when we will effectively reopen but we will make an announcement in the coming weeks.

First and foremost, we want to make sure that everyone who comes to the synagogue will be able to do so as safely as possible. While we are doing much better in California and in San Francisco, there are still risks of very serious illness.

We will do our best to try and minimize those risks.

At first we will have Shabbat Services only, with no luncheons provided. We will then see how things work and will consider resuming luncheons when we believe it is safe to do so. The same will go for daily services.

We strongly urge anyone who wants to come to Magain David to get vaccinated as soon as possible, and, when we reopen, to join those of us who already are, otherwise we ask you to refrain from attending services until you are fully vaccinated as it will put other members in danger. We will ask congregants to show us or send us proof of vaccination before they join our services. In addition, we will require that people wear masks at all time inside the synagogue.

There will be other rules, and we will follow guidelines as much as possible for indoor events, most likely a limit on how many people can be inside and social distancing according to the city guidelines.

Please watch our newsletter / Facebook / website for more in the coming weeks.
