Hi SE Eagles!

As you may or may not know, a group of Portola volunteers known as, Friends of 770, have formally submitted an application for Historic Landmark Designation of the last remaining greenhouses at 770 Woolsey Street. The group is looking for letters of support from the community, which will be bundled and sent to the SF Planning Commission. A hearing is set for July 17th at City Hall. If these greenhouses are special to you and you would like to write a personal email or letter, please send them to [email protected]. You are also welcome and encouraged to attend the hearing. More information is provided below.

Rest In Peace Mr. Mancilla...🙏🙏🙏

[11/12/20]   Thoughts and prayers going out to Jesus Mancilla”81” and his family after the passing of his father earlier this week. The Goose is strong and loved but you can never have enough positive support after a tragedy like this. Please keep him in your prayers.❤️❤️❤️

[10/16/20]   This next June will be 40 years for our class of “81”. I’m putting it out there because I would love to see another reunion with those who have not been able to make any of our past ones. Think it’s time to start some planning. I can help from Oregon but will need some help. Chime in folks... I need to know what everyone’s thinking.

Home Movie: Latinx Family in San Francisco, early 1950s : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

Good afternoon SE family. I got a message and special request to pass on. I will post below....

Hello. I'm a film archivist trying to help locate a family that made a 50s-era home movie of their life in San Francisco's Portola district (link below). Part of the film looks like it was shot at St. Elizabeth School, and includes a parade of girls in communion dresses walking with nuns and their parents. Wayland St. is visible and I feel almost sure it is the site of St. Elizabeth School and/or Church. While I realize the footage is old, I'm wondering if any of the alumni on your page might be able to help identify the family (I thought that perhaps multiple generations may have attended the school).

The film is here: https://archive.org/details/001033
The Communion footage starts around 04:00.

If you feel that you'd like to reply (though I would totally understand if you don't have time), you can fb message me or email me at [email protected]. Any information at all would be helpful. Thanks in advance for you time.

Best regards,
Caroline Rubens

[08/09/17]   OK Class of "81"... Saturday September 16, 2017 we are attempting another reunion. Everyone should have gotten a link on our 81 facebook reunion link but for those who may have not seen it or haven't gotten wind of it yet, we are trying to get a good head count. Dinner will be at Original Joe's at 6pm. Spouses are welcome we just need a good head count to reserve the room. Looking like we have at least 6 going so far. Please drop myself, Goose or Lisa T a note as soon as you are able to lock in the date. Some of us are coming from far away and we are all looking forward to seeing everyone and getting caught up.

One of my 3rd Grade special Ed students drew this amazing holiday picture this last week and I wanted to share it along with my wishes for a great holiday season this year... Love goes out to my SE family.

[04/05/15]   Happy Easter SE family. I am sorry I have not been on here in a while. Moved my family out of state and just finally getting settled back in. Much love going out to you today.

Class of 81 Reunion 04/04/2014

I am sorry that it has taken me so long to get these on here. They were from our gathering last September. Almost a year since the last and I think it is time to start planning the next, with the hopes we can get all those who missed it this time.
