On July 10th it was announced that the Sheriff was ending the West County Detention Facility contract with ICE. Any detainees at WCDF have already been transferred to other facilities perhaps in other states. Immigrants being held in detention centers across the U.S. await hearings and are being separated from family, friends, jobs, and other responsibilities while they wait. If a judge allows their release, they still need to come up with money to post bond for release.
Please encourage all Bay Area-resettled refugees to attend our FREE Welcome Weekend retreat (lodging, food, and activities are all provided for FREE) in the beautiful redwoods of San Gregorio, California.
