English Standard Version And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. Berean Study Bible At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. FOLKS! this is happening! i was made able to see beyond the vale. i hope i spelled it right lol. since then i can read the sky and even photograph things nobody around me sees. so i have been on a neat and sometimes scary adventure. i can also show people in person what i can see. i can pass on this gift of sight. figuring out how to pull scenery in color out of the sky.. god and his angels are here and i know first hand what the cloud thing really means. i have physical evidence of a higher power and am willing to share it.
"The Church for the Fellowship of All Peoples was conceived by Rev. Alfred G. Fisk, Ph. D. in 1943. In discussions with the Presbyterian Church, Dr. Fisk expressed distress over the removal of Japanese citizens to relocation camps, and the prejudice toward African Americans who came to San Francisco to work in World War II industries. He envisioned a place of worship which would provide understanding and respect for all races and religions. "Dr. Fisk enlisted Dr. Howard Thurman, Dean of the Chapel at Howard University in Washington, D. C., to become co-pastor of the new church....First services were held December 12, 1943....On January 19, 1949, Fellowship Church...purchased the former St. John German Evangelical Church at 2041 Larkin Street, [which] had been built in the early 1900’s to serve the immigrant German population which had settled on Russian Hill. "The leaded opalescent glass windows in the church were probably installed when the building was constructed. In 1953 and 1957, Carl Huneke, Century Stained Glass Studio, San Francisco, completely rebuilt two of the windows, the first and the fifth windows from the back on the south side of the sanctuary, [and] created the leaded amber glass panels in the screen between the narthex and the sanctuary."
From SF Chron archive, re Fellowship Church's soon-to-be-cofounder: "Sept. 12, 1939: Returning from Europe yesterday, Dr. Alfred G. Fisk, instructor in philosophy at San Francisco State, told how he was subjected to two hours of grueling questioning in Danzig because he had not saluted in a Nazi manner. "Dr. Fisk arrived in the “Free City” as hostilities on the Polish frontier began. When Dr. Fisk failed to lift his arm in the Nazi salute with others about him, he was arrested. However he produced his American passport and convinced his questioners of his nationality. Shortly afterward, as he was walking along a street, he was roughly seized from behind by soldiers and taken to police headquarters. He was accused of forging his passport and for two hours was steadily questioned as to his past actions and travels."
does anyone have the February worship schedule available yet? I want to plan when I can come...
Thank you for a great service. My nieces and nephews enjoyed playing the piano. Thanks for the kind birthday wishes for my 3 year old niece. I love our community.

General information

Founded in 1944 during a time of local, national, and global tension and conflict, The Church for the Fellowship of All Peoples is the nation's first interracial, interfaith congregation. Its current Presiding Minister is Rev. Dr. Dorsey O. Blake, and the Presiding Co-Minister is Rev. Dr. Kathryn L. Benton. This vision is best captured in The Commitment which the congregation and its leadership developed over a long period of study and discussion. Agreement with this inclusive Commitment remains the basis for membership in the church. Informal relations with the Jewish, Buddhist, and Muslim communities have been maintained over the years, particularly with Rabbi Saul White, and his son, Rabbi David White, and with Buddha’s Universal Church. Underlying this diversity is the extraordinary heritage of Dr. Thurman’s penetrating theology, articulated in over a dozen books. From the beginning, an emphasis has been given to the arts in religious life including music, drama, and dance. To this day the importance of cultural pluralism and emphasis on the arts remain important to the church. As we enter the twenty-first century and the church moves into its sixth decade, the importance of building bridges among cultural, racial, and religious communities remains a great need in the increasingly dense and complex world. THE COMMITMENT I affirm my need for a growing understanding of all people as children of God and I seek after a vital experience of God as revealed through Jesus of Nazareth and other great religious spirits whose fellowship with God was the foundation of their fellowship with all people. I desire to share in the spiritual growth and ethical awareness of men and women of varied national, cultural, racial, and creedal heritage united in a religious fellowship. I desire the strength of corporate worship through membership in The Church for the Fellowship of All Peoples with the imperative of personal dedication to the working out of God's purpose here and in all places.
