Time to get to know Oleg!

• Where are you from 📍: Zbarazh, Ukraine

• What’s your favorite place you’ve #travelled to ✈️: Not easy to pick a favorite, but #rome and #NewZealand are high on the list. Rome for the history and New Zealand for the landscapes, would want to visit both again!

• How do you serve the church ⛪️: I help the media ministry with both PowerPoint and #cameras on Sundays, am also part of the #youth leadership team and part of the youth #finance team.

• Favorite #Bible verse 📖: Too difficult to choose just one!

• If you won the #lottery, what would you do with the money 💰: I would try my best to make sure as few people found out as possible, but otherwise would try to continue to give/save/invest as before. Might add a couple more #watches to the collection though :)

• Favorite #junk food 😋: Do sunflower seeds count as junk food?

• What are your hobbies: I enjoy many #outdoor activities, also reading and #learning about anything I find interesting

• Fun fact! : I am getting #married this summer to the #beautiful girl in the first photo!! 😆

• what’s your vision for the youth: That every member of the youth would grow in their #relationship with #God and get equipped for life after school/college.

“He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:6‬ ‭•

Христос воскрес! Воистину воскрес! 🙏🏼✝️

Family! the King has risen! He defeated death! He conquered the greatest enemy, and now it’s time to celebrate! He died and rose again to give us life, so let us be a fruit of His resurrection! Let us go around shouting the GOOD NEWS!

Join us today at 11am for the Resurrection service to celebrate our King Jesus 🤴(If you can’t make it, you can watch online!) See you all there!

Join us for our Good Friday Youth Service tonight at 8pm! We’ll be having a group discussion and activity surrounding Jesus’s death on the cross.

Over 2000 years ago, Jesus acted in the most humble, loving way towards us. He took our sin upon Himself, was tortured and was hung on the cross instead of us. He was showing forgiveness up until the very last moments and His blood was shed for you and for me. Jesus died an innocent death BUT the story doesn’t end there!! Three days later, He ROSE FROM THE GRAVE, defeating death, in order to give us everlasting life in Heaven with Him!

Come tonight to hear the story and then join us on Sunday @rgtchurch to hear the Resurrection story! 🤴🙏🏼🤍

RGT Update May 30 2020

Dear brothers and sisters,
We want to give all of you a clear picture of the direction our church will be moving into. First of all a reminder that our church is located in the city of San Francisco, which has its own set of guidelines we must follow. It differs from other cities and counties in California.

The leadership of our church is moving forward to start LiveStreaming done directly from our church which begins this Sunday May 31 @ 11AM. We will be following all given guidelines and will be ministering with live worship and preaching.
At this time our team will consist of 10 persons.

Furthermore given the reopening guidelines, Our Mayor London Breed announced that in Phase 2b Religious Services in San Francisco can reopen on June 15 2020. Do keep in mind there are a lot of restrictions attached which we need to follow. We will keep you informed as we reach this Phase.

For now May 31, June 7 and June 14 we will continue to LiveStream our services from RGT.
In regards to our Communion Service, we had a meeting with our church Pastors and Deacons. We came to a decision that on June 7 we will move forward with a Communion Service during our LiveStream.

The Communion elements due to the situation we are in will consist of a Prefilled Communion Cup (grape juice) with Wafer which are packaged and sealed individually and will be distributed (to your homes etc.) when you let the Deacons, Sectional Leaders, know. This must be done ahead of time! Please inform us if you are going to participate to receive your portion. Remembering all the warnings and responsibilities that our church holds to.
Then on June 7 @ 11AM LiveStream Service you can watch and participate in Communion.
Be blessed!

God Bless you!!!

RGT Christian Church + Russian & English Speaking Church

Praise be to God! Greetings to you, my dear Church, Russian Gospel Temple! I would like to encourage you by reading the 2nd verse of Psalm 46: «God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear».
In this short greeting, I would like to stress upon few important points that each and every one of us can and should do during this critical time.

-Be connected with Church in order not to lose ourselves;
-Take care of yourselves, your loved one and society in general;
-Sacrifice your time and finances;

First, how do we stay connected with church? Please follow our posts on Facebook, YouTube, and church website rgtsf.org.

This Sunday, March 29 at 11 AM, we will have a live-streaming service. Please join us at this time. Because of the situation with coronavirus, the Government of our Country and the local governments are taking all the necessary measures, including the limitation of public gatherings and keeping distance.

As Church, we are obeying these directives because we care about the people surrounding us, and because we do not want to spread the virus. That is why our fellowship has changed its format to online communication, phone and text messaging. Although we are keeping distance from each other physically, we should not further isolate ourselves spiritually, but grow closer to each other and show more consideration for each other.

There are many computer softwares that allow groups of people to fellowship virtually with the help of modern technologies. For example, we can use a social platform ZOOM. Some people in our church are already using this platform to study the Bible, to pray together and encourage each other. I am very happy that we have such an opportunity. Last Friday, our youth used Instagram to share the Word of God and encourage each other.

Please allow me to give you an advice.
Since we have to stay home, let us grow closer to our family members. Let us use this season to restore relationships in family - if they were damaged. Perhaps, your prayer life is suffering or not existent. Develop the appropriate schedule for your routine tasks and eliminate laziness and emptiness. Be disciplined, take care of your spirit, soul and of course your body. Be polite, patient and caring towards each other. spend more time with the Bible and in prayer, rather than reading news on Internet.

Good Acts.
The Word of God teaches us not to forget about good acts and fellowship. Think of elders, who cannot go shopping for groceries. The leaders of RGT, please make phone calls to establish if there are such members of our church who need help. You may also know your neighbors who are in need, let us be salt and light for this world.

We can always give our time and finances. Please continue to participate in the financial needs of our church. You can do that through our website. If you have questions regarding the tithes or offerings, please call our Church Treasurer.

Members of the Help Fund, please call Arkady Karlin. He will tell you how to contribute to the fund for the funeral of our sister Nadezhda Boyko.

Many Christians agreed to unite in prayer this Sunday for protection from coronavirus. We believe in the power of prayer and we shall call His name. The Word of God proclaims: "And My people, upon whom My name is called, being converted, shall make supplication to Me, and seek out My face, and do penance for their most wicked ways: then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and will heal their land (2nd Paralip. 7:14).

Please pray for God to console the Boyko family after they buried their mother Nadezhda. I am grateful to Pastor David, who conducted the service last Thursday in Sacramento. To my regret, I could not participate in the funeral due to my family circumstances. My wife and I are taking care of our mother Olga Purshaga, who is bedridden and needs 24-hour care. Please pray for her and our situation. We will also pray for all the sick, especially those who are infected with coronavirus. We shall pray for the government of our country, for wisdom to edict the right laws. We have heard that President Trump signed an order about the return of prayer to schools. Praise God for that!

We shall pray for those who lost jobs because many companies are closing. We shall pray for the economy of our country and its rapid restoration after the crisis.
Especially, we ask to pray for medical workers who are on the front line of war with coronavirus pandemia.
Dear church, let us pray for being ready to meet Jesus Christ. Remember, church is not a building; church is people; we are the Body of Christ. Let us keep fellowship. Let us continue to serve each other with love, take care of each other and our neighbors. Let us sacrifice our resources, support God's ministry with finances and prayer.

I love you and bless you.
Till next meeting online,
Pastor Yuri Georgiev.

No Sunday Service at RGT on March 22 2020 and all other on site services are cancelled.

The following information was received from different sources.

The Assemblies of God Leadership during a video meeting this week asked us to please follow all directives given by our government and our counties, and to honor the shelter in place. The AG leadership also said to be careful and NOT careless. We need to pay attention and use wisdom.

This is taken directly from San Francisco's Government site:
The order is mandatory and is publishable by crime. They recommend that people do not attend churches and encourage remote services via streaming. I have pasted the relevant provisions below:

What to do
The City issued a Public Health Order requiring people to stay home except for essential needs.
Vulnerable populations must stay home. People who are over 60 or have a chronic health condition are the most vulnerable to this virus.
Everyone else is required to stay home except to get food, care for a relative or friend, get necessary health care, or go to an essential job.
It is OK to go outside for walks or bike rides if you are not in a group.
Stay at least 6 feet apart when leaving your home for essential activities.
This order is in effect until April 7.
It may be extended depending on recommendations from public health officials.

Is this mandatory or is it just guidance?
It is mandatory. This Order is a legal Order issued under the authority of California law. You are required to comply, and it is a misdemeanor crime not to follow the order (although the intent is not for anyone to get into trouble).
It is critical for everyone to follow the Order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect themselves, their loved ones, friends, neighbors and the whole community.
All persons, businesses, and other entities are required to comply if they do not fall within the exemptions that are specified in the Order.
Places of worship
Stay home.
For your safety and the safety of your fellow worshippers, we need to help each other fight the spread of COVID-19 by staying at home. Places of worship can offer remote access to services, such as by emails, video streaming, or teleconference.
