catholic-sf.org Christina Alvarez secured a makeshift rain poncho fashioned from a plastic bag around a man about to step out Dec. 14 from the warmth of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church into a wintry downpour. Several weeks ago Michael Collopy, a very famous photographer, visited our Gubbio Project and donated a beautiful framed portrait of St Teresa of Calcutta. The portrait is so large that I decided to build a moving cart to hold and display this portrait. During the weekdays, we roll out this portrait of Mother Theresa so that she can be the special guardian angel for the homeless who are sleeping in our church pews. On the weekend we move her portrait to be in the alcove with Our Lady of Guadalupe. We are so grateful for the generosity of Michael in sharing with us his portrait with St Boniface Church !
