On Tuesday, Bishop Gary Janak shared some insights on wellness. He emphasized the importance of understanding oneself: What are my strengths and weaknesses? What are my limits? What habits, environments, or situations lead me to temptation, and what steps can I take to avoid those things? Bishop Gary also shared a diagram featuring the eight dimensions of wellness (shown here). He discussed how each of the different aspects affects our overall well-being and how they are interconnected. In order to maximize our well-being, we must find a balance in our lives and be attentive toward the different dimensions of wellness.

What was your biggest takeaway from Bishop Gary’s talk?

This Thursday, you’ll have a chance to say hello to two new members of the YCP Leadership Team: Annemarie Loftus and Ezekiel Saucedo.

Annemarie joins the leadership team as the Director of Evangelization. Annemarie is a registered nurse in San Antonio. She strives to live out her faith in the workplace by acting as the hands and feet of Christ to all of her patients in their time of need, and looks to St Mother Teresa as a huge inspiration in her work. She joined YCP to surround herself with other young adult Catholics who are on fire for the Lord and aim to live out the Catholic faith authentically in all areas of life.

Ezekiel joins the leadership team as the Director of Marketing. Ezekiel is an illustrator, graphic designer, and the author of the graphic novel “Saint John the Baptist: A Voice Crying Out in the Desert.” As an artist, he strives to see God’s beauty in all things and to help others see that beauty, as well. Ezekiel cherishes the sense of community that YCP brings, and he hopes to use his experience in design and advertising to grow that community and share YCP’s mission with others.

Today, as we celebrate fatherhood, may we look to the example of St. Joseph. Author Randy Hain in “Five Lessons from St. Joseph” highlights these qualities: St. Joseph was obedient, he was selfless, he led by example, he was a worker, and he was a leader. Let us seek to be more like Saint Joseph!

“Communion in the image of the Trinity is precisely what distinguishes the person from the individual. From faith in God who is Trinity, it follows that in order to be myself I need others. I am truly human, truly personal, only if I relate to others.” Pope Francis

What does the mystery of the Holy Trinity teach us about the relationships we have with others—our coworkers, friends, family, and communities?
