Joshua 1:8

ddv This scribed document of the Torah (teaching, instruction) must not from your mouth (the puff of your speech) but have muttered (pondered) in it daily and in lights out, for then (it) makes you push forward /you prosper in the way you tread and then It makes you circumspect (unto success)

NKJV “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

AV This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

NIV Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful
The Torah has been an instruction for how to live successfully by avoiding sin by reminding us of what sin is.

Therefore, the law is our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. (Galatians 3:24 NKJV)

Salvation has always been by faith: “For the righteous shall live by his faith.” (Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17)

Abraham was justified by faith long before a written law existed. (Romans 4:6, Hebrews 11:8)

The word meditate/ponder is actually translated from the word “mutter” and it works very well.

Whenever a high school student had trouble understanding an instruction, having them repeatedly read the instruction out loud helped them.

After the 6th or 7th time reading it they often would say: “OH-- Now I get it!” as they walked away smiling.

Danny Kaye told a story on a 1960 record album for children where repeating something like an important name was the best way not to forget it. The story is called “Uwungelema.”

It was the tortoise who obtained the name from the monk, walked the distance repeating that name over and over who then said that name before the tree and all the fruit fell from the tree for all the animals to enjoy. https://sunflowerstorytime.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/uwungemela.pdf

Muttering also keeps HIS WORD inside us where it becomes our guide as we walk circumspectly (Ephesians 5:15) and we experience success by HIS Word prospering us literally pushing us forward in every step we take in HIM.

Romans 8:14 ddv For as-many as are led (compelled) by the Spirit of-God, these are the sons of God.

With the constant connection, the Spirit brings the WORD to mind (John 14:26) when circumstances surround us so it guide us from temptation (Mt 6:13) while giving us the Spiritual strength to endure it. (1Cor 10:13)

1 Timothy 4:15 NKJV Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.

[07/31/21]   What is better than being a SUPERHERO?
Proverbs 16:32

ddv It is good to be long, slowly drawn out to seething anger than be mighty, powerful and the one ruling in his spirit than the one occupying a city.

NKJV [He who is] slow to anger [is] better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.

AV [He that is] slow to anger [is] better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.

NIV Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city.
We grow up admiring mighty people and often kids play with those mighty toys and dolls and pretend to be like them. But those super heroes often have super short fuses.

In God’s eyes, it is GOOD to have a slow blow fuse, that long, slowly drawn out unto seething anger.

Likewise, being an important ruler of a city can really boost the ego. But it is GOOD in God’s eyes for us to rule our own spirit.

Again, keep in mind there is nothing at all we can do without Jesus; We so need His WORD inside us.

Both of these are very humble, lowly positions.

Supremely blessed are the meek for they are to inherit the earth. (Matthew 5:5 ddv)

[07/30/21]   SIMPLE >>> DON'T CHURN!!!
Proverbs 30:33

ddv As pressing (churning) milk fat causes butter to come out & pressing (banging) a nose causes blood to come out so does pressing (churning) the ire of seething nostrils cause a feud to come out.

NKJV For [as] the churning of milk produces butter, And wringing the nose produces blood, So the forcing of wrath produces strife.

AV Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.

NIV For as churning the milk produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife.
Back in the day, butter was churned with a stick. A nose bled when punched with a fist.

Using either of these on a person would so cause a feud.

So could churning words at someone stir up their ire into seething anger to cause a feud. So could one’s actions churn on someone till their ire turns to seething anger to be a feud.

What about within ourselves? Do we churn on our thoughts till we fume and feud?

Simple wisdom here. DON’T CHURN!

Now, if pressing a matter can bring forth something good like BUTTER, good. But if pressing brings forth blood, don't.

[07/29/21]   Anxiously QUIVERING in fear or anger? Try God’s Couch instead
Psalm 4:4

ddv QUIVER anxiously with fear/anger and do not sin . UTTER/PONDER in your heart upon your couch/bed and GROW STILL/SILENT.

NKJV Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still.

AV Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still.

NIV In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The word utter is often associated with spiritual conversing of praying or pondering.

We usually pray while kneeling, sitting, or standing. But here, we are instructed to lay down in a restful manner to dialogue with GOD alone.

Being still, the Spirit brings to mind His Word and other thoughts that are not like ours. Thus, we may wake up to a new perspective in Christ, direction or we simply left it all in HIS HANDS. Regardless, we should at least calm down to be in a spirit-led frame of mind to handle the situation.

We really need to rely more on HIM and what comes to mind from HIS Word.

[07/27/21]   Anger issues? Could it be a bad case of the TREMBLES?
Ecclesiastes 7:9

ddv Do not anxiously/fearfully hasten intentionally in your spirit to trouble/agitate to anger for vexing anger/rage rests in the bosom of senseless fools.

NKJV Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, For anger rests in the bosom of fools.

AV Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

NIV Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.
The deeper details of "hasten" brings to mind an angle to anger we must seriously consider.

This “inward trembling” in the form of anxiety or even fear causing us "hasten" to crossover to intentionally stir up our spirit to anger-- this is a very serious issue.

There is no fearfulness in selfless love. But the finished perfection of selfless love throws fearfulness outside because fearfulness holds an inflicted penalty. Moreover, those having fearfulness have not finished perfection in HIS selfless love. (John 4:18 ddv)

How ironic it is that this trembling leading to vexing anger/rage “rests,” it is “reposing” inside the bosom of a senseless fool.

While it is resting in its recliner inside, the spirit is all worked up, chronically agitating their human into anger.

By all means, ask GOD to surgically remove and replace this squatter no matter how painful it is.

If somehow, feeling human fear seems like a closeness to HIM, that is the devil’s lie.

Love’s finished perfection is just the opposite. It is the stronghold in the hugest hurricane.

[07/26/21]   The finale that never ends
Luke 1:53-55

ddv Those hungering/craving HE filled up with HIS good/benevolent (things) & those being/making wealth, HE sent away/dispatched empty (unaccompanied).
HE instead took hold of Israel, HIS servant in training, to have fixed in His mind His compassionate mercy (regarding them/us) just as HE uttered unto our fathers, Abraham, and his seed unto the eon.

NKJV He has filled [the] hungry with good things, And [the] rich He has sent away empty.
He has helped His servant Israel, In remembrance of [His] mercy, As He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and to his seed forever

AV He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of [his] mercy; As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

NIV He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.
He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful to Abraham and his descendants for ever, even as he said to our fathers.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Verse 53 matches with Proverbs 23:4-5. It tells us not to overwork for wealth because it is like an eagle that flies away. Obviously, Mary version brings up the fact that GOD sends the riches away either in this life, or in death.

Anyone wanting true satisfaction needs God. “For He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with goodness.” Psalms 107: 9

Instead of God sending Israel away empty, unaccompanied with HIS goodness, HE took hold of Israel to have them STAYED in His mind, meaning HS mind was actively thinking of them at all times.

Psalms 98:3. He has remembered

[07/24/21]   How to have our cake and eat it too.
Luke 1:53

Those hungering/craving HE filled up with HIS good/benevolent (things) & those being/making wealth, HE sent away/dispatched empty (unaccompanied).

NKJV He has filled [the] hungry with good things, And [the] rich He has sent away empty.

AV He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.

NIV He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.
Mary’s thoughts again seem to draw on passages from the Old Testament.

Psalms 107: 8 NKJV Oh, that [men] would give thanks to the LORD [for] His goodness, And [for] His wonderful works to the children of men! 9 For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.

As often as we say grace for the food we eat, have we expressed gratitude for the spiritual food HE puts in our souls from HIS WORD? Everyday we should have a golden nugget.

So often, we think the goods of this world satisfy us. If so, He sends us away empty of HIS eternal blessings because we are already satisfied with the world’s junk that is only temporary. To be honest, it happens to all levels of income.

Proverbs 23:4 NKJV Do not overwork to be rich; Because of your own understanding, cease! 5 Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For [riches] certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle [toward] heaven.

It is possible to have wealth and enjoy God’s blessings when our true love is HIM. Only then can we have our cake and eat it too.

Ecclesiastes 5:18 NKJV [It is] good and fitting [for one] to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it [is] his heritage.
19 As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor — this [is] the gift of God.
20 For he will not dwell unduly on the days of his life, because God keeps [him] busy with the joy of his heart.

Oh that Solomon's heart was loyal to GOD and he had followed the wisdom from his own lips.

[07/23/21]   HE DE-THRONES and EN-THRONES
Luke 1:52

ddv HE for Himself took down powerful dynastic rulers off their thrones and heightened /elevated the lowly.

NKJV He has put down the mighty from [their] thrones, And exalted [the] lowly.

AV He hath put down the mighty from [their] seats, and exalted them of low degree.

NIV He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.
Mary’s 6th praise is not easily traced to a particular passage. The closest words were spoken by Hannah in 1 Samuel 2: 8 NKJV “He raises the poor from the dust [And] lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set [them] among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory.”

The best example of God de-throning a powerful ruler of a dynasty would be Nebuchadnezzar. The moment he expressed pride of all “HE HAD DONE” God took out a heart (human reasoning) and put in the heart of being like a cow.

The moment he was humbled and his eyes were caused to look up to heaven, then God restored him to the throne with MORE prestige than he had before.

Most of us are born with an ego like King Neb. God does things to humble us. Some hearts harden like Pharaoh. Others crush and GOD give them a repenting mind set to love HIM. Then they crave HIM and HE ELEVATES THEM to HIM.

God is an expert at de-throning and en-throning.

[07/22/21]   Jesus put on the whole Armor of GOD
Isaiah 59:17

ddv HE (Jesus, the Arm of God) puts on uprightness like a breastplate (a coat of mail) and the helmet of salvation on His head and HE puts on the garments of vengeance like clothing. Also, HE wraps Himself in intense fervor like a robe,

NKJV For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head; He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, And was clad with zeal as a cloak.

AV For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance [for] clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.

NIV He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head; he put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak.
So, did the LORD have the Apostle Paul write down about the whole armor of GOD based on the Roman soldier’s garb or was it based on this passage in Isaiah or was it a combination of the two?

Better question: Why did YHWH’s “own empowered outstretched Arm AND uprightness” put on a breastplate of uprightness “AND” the helmet of salvation?

It makes sense for us for we are flawed HUMANS. But Jesus was and is GOD. Why did HE need the garb?

The answer to this is in the garments’ description: ‘vengeance.’ In Genesis 3:15 God uses the word enmity, a hostility between the woman and Satan and their respective seed. Satan will crush HIS heel but HE shall crush Satan’s head. That is a lot of vengeance.

YHWH’s empowered outstretched Arm and Uprightness AKA Jesus who exists in the bosom of God > John 1:18) also being inside a flawed human form. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

HE had to wrap that body in the Armor of GOD, essentially the Armor of HIMSELF since HE is Uprightness and Salvation

MORE SO -- we need wrapped in the whole armor of HIM.

[07/20/21]   What was GOD thinking?
Isaiah 59:16

ddv And HE (YHWH) sees that there exists no man and (it) stuns (Him) that none is caused to entreat/intercede and deliver/save for HIM. HIS own empowered outstretched Arm and uprightness, HE took hold to support /sustain (for) Him.

NKJV He saw that [there was] no man, And wondered that [there was] no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him.

AV And he saw that [there was] no man, and wondered that [there was] no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

NIV He saw that there was no-one, he was appalled that there was no-one to intervene; so his own arm worked salvation for him, and his own righteousness sustained him.
Apparently, the plan before the eons of moments began was for a man to intercede for man. But, not only did YHWH see none, a human could not pay the price for GOD set a price only HE could pay. (Psalms 49:7-9)

YHWH’s empowered outstretched Arm and Uprightness seized the moment to do it in human form.

So, why would Jesus ask the Father to let the cup pass from Him? (Mt 26:39, Mk 14:36, Luke 22:42) The answer is in the outcome.

No other person but God in human form had the power and durability to pay for all humans the ransom price that God HIMSELF set.

But in human form, the Mind of God had to overrule the feelings found in human form.

Hebrews 5:8
And indeed being the SON, HE skillfully learned and practiced from what HE painfully experienced - a perfect submission, a divine compliance.
