Generations Assembly

Generations Assembly

I am looking forward to being with you in worship today. I have a message from God, and I do not say that lightly.

We are going to bless the younger generations today!
I've heard people say, "I'd rather be here in church with God's people than in the best hospital in town." Well, I was in a good hospital last Sunday, and THOSE PEOPLE ARE RIGHT!

I'm going to continue to recover at home tomorrow, but even the comfort of one's own home is nothing compared to the joy and the privilege of being in fellowship and worship the Family of God in the presence the Father and His Son!

If you don't feel this way, there's something wrong in your heart.
Ecclesiastes 3
King James Version
3 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Just what to let everyone know Randy is home.Drs. and staff at hospital are very happy with his progress. He is doing well but still has away to go. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.
Looking forward to worshipping with the saints at Richfield Assembly on Sunday!

I will bring a report on my trip to India with a word of encouragement concerning the work of God in Sevier County!
A message from Pastor Homer for Richfield Assembly of God from Gajuwaka, Andra Pradesh, India!
Many pastors have this affliction . . . Sunday afternoons and Monday mornings are a time of reflection and evaluation. So many questions, regrets, concerns, joys, and kicking oneself in the seat of the pants. What could I have done better? Where was that person? Did I say the wrong thing? Etc., etc. etc. That's the routine I've been through for 24 hours.

On the top of my thoughts this week was, "Was I too hard on people?" "Am I beating the congregation with the truth?"

What I need to say more often is this: this message was for me, as much or more than it was for anyone else. And the burden of the great need of this community sometimes unbearable.

It's Monday evening, and my spirits are better . . . I love the people of Richfield Assembly, and my heart breaks more often than anyone can appreciate. It's not the burden of working another job . . . it's just the challenge of being a pastor.
The congregation at Richfield Assembly of God surprised us with a Pastor Appreciation Party after worship last Sunday There was a beautiful cake (with lemon filling), beautiful hand-made cards from Children's Church, and a card from the congregation stuffed with cash! I was completely surprised, and that's hard to do! Unfortunately, Sandra was in California . . . I'm going to share the gifts with her anyhow!
I have prepared the second part of my testimony. "Where have you been?" "What happened to you?" Get your testimony together . . .
Pastor Purdy preached a powerful message at City Harvest Family Church, in Albany, New York. Enjoy!
Looking forward to being with you on April 29th!
We had a great day at Richfield Assembly! A pancake & sausage breakfast, made possible by so many wonderful people who stepped in to cook and serve! A real "crowd" in our little chapel, so many voices lifting the songs of worship to God! Miracles I can hardly begin to describe . . . a real sense of GREAT things ahead as we seek God and serve one another!

Sandra and I are so thankful to God, and we are delighted to be a part of this wonderful congregation!

Our Story

In 1965, Bernice Syddall Rasmussen visited family in Moab, attended Sunday services at Moab Assembly of God with her family, and responded to an invitation to receive the Lord Jesus. God touched her life deeply. Bernice began to search for a church in the Sevier Valley. Her search for a spirit-filled church continued for 10 years. Finally, she went to Presbyter-Pastor Robert Smith in West Valley and pleaded for an Assemblies of God church in Richfield.

Within days, Rev. Smith received word that there was a young pastor who had a burden to plant an Assemblies of God church in Richfield. Soon, Bernice, members of her family, and friends were meeting with Pastor Willard Coleman and his wife Betty, and Richfield Assembly of God was born!

The new church met in homes and rented facilities, growing steadily, until they purchased an old ward at 110 N 300 East in Richfield. Through the years, hundreds of people found a new relationship with Jesus Christ through the message and ministry of Richfield Assembly.

With this rich history of ministry in Richfield and Sevier County, the church continues to offer spirit-led worship and heart-felt fellowship for those who hunger for God.
