Dear God, we thank you for this day that you have given us. Let us continue to see your work even in the smallest of things. Let our love for you and for one another continue to grow into the foundation of who we are. In this moment, let us stop, breathe, and be grateful for today. Amen
We love our guest musicians and the gifts they bring to our ministries! Thank you and thank you!! #BehindTheScenes
Often when we hear the word worship, we quickly narrow its definition to the music that happens during a church service. But even though he's a worship leader, George Williamson knows that it's so much more than that. It's a discipline. An attitude. A way of life. These are the lessons he hopes to instill as Director of Worship Ministries at Point Loma Nazarene University. The creativity and passion he brings to this conversation will be an inspiration to all who hear it! FUMCR.com/MoreThanSunday
May the God that created you and knows you better than you know yourself, remind you of your sacred worth as a child of God. May God give you the courage to be vulnerable enough to know your shortcomings, that each one of us might gain wisdom and knowledge as we spend time with our Creator. Amen. - Dr. Josh Fitzpatrick
It's SUNDAY, and we can't wait for you to join us online for worship services! Get your coffee, gather your family, and be inspired with incredible music and a special message today!! See you right here on Facebook Live at 9:45 and 11am!! #LoveAllServeAll
We are blessed to have Shandon Klein serving our church as a Ministry Associate while she completes her internship and final year at Perkins School of Theology at SMU.
One staple question John Wesley asked of the early Methodists was, "How is it with your soul?" Shandon reminds us that even today this question, when answered honestly, can lead us to an incredible reminder that Jesus' love does not stop with comfort, but creates something new. #FreedomFromFear #NotAlone
When we choose to live our lives by God's love - people notice! But, remember it's not US that needs to be noticed. It's the love of God that shines in us and through us that makes the difference.
As we recognize the first day of school for our Richardson ISD students, we celebrate that God is with us no matter where we are! While we may be starting a little different this year, God's love for us is the same as it has been - ALWAYS GROWING!! Have a great year RISD! #LoveServedHere
Let people see Christ in you. Let people see the love of Christ in your life. The world so desperately needs the love that only Christ can give us. That love is made available from God and through us. So let's go live it, and let's go share it today! Amen. - Dr. Clayton Oliphint

Dear God, we thank you for this day that you have given us. Let us live in this day in a mindset of gratitude. No matter what is happening in our lives, God we know that you are closer to us than we realize. In this moment, let us stop, breathe, and be grateful for today. Today IS the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Today, we want to highlight a recommendation from Michael Lightfoot, our Director of Music Ministries!!
Did you know that the same composer who wrote the beautiful “Gabriel’s Oboe,” from the film "The Mission" starring Robert De Niro, also wrote the music for all of the Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns?
Chancel Choir member, Mike Mason sent me this link of a Danish orchestra and chorus performing the theme to “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly”, written by Italian composer, Ennio Morricone.
That’s quite a stretch between these two pieces of music! Most interesting is the fact that in both of these pieces the choir never really sings text. Yes, there is a choral version of “Gabriel’s Oboe” that our choir has sung, and it is filled with “ooh’s” and “ahh’s”. On the other hand, the choir’s unusual sounds are key to the dramatic feel of these songs.
Ennio Morricone passed away in July, so we would like to celebrate him today by listening to his music. The first will make you smile, and the second, Morricone's "Gabriel's Oboe," will make you cry.
Enjoy these hauntingly beautiful songs.
