When Jesus talked about church, He talked about the “two or three” who gathered in His name. Every New Testament church was a small church, and that’s important for us to know because most churches today are small too. 60% of all the churches in the United States have 100 members or less. And if only half of a church’s membership shows up for worship on any given Sunday morning as the research indicates, then better than half of the churches in the United States this morning will have 50 people or less in attendance. So don’t tell me that a small church lacks significance. To quote the theme song from the TV show “Cheers” – Sometimes you want to go Where everybody knows your name And they’re always glad you came You wanna be where you can see Our troubles are all the same You wanna be where everybody knows your name --- Doug Skinner

He'll talk about his experiences training astronauts, and how he invented "fake mood dirt" for space training. Bring your family & friends!

Why Giving to Your Church Right Now Might Be More Important than Ever - The Stone Table

thestonetable.org Keep giving to your local church. Perhaps I’m the right one to say this as I have no direct personal upside from the conversation. What I do have is a deep belief in God’s Word, a love for the mission of God in the world, and a network of dear friends leading this charge in …

Preparations for Easter. He has risen.

[04/19/19]   Remember that we don’t run directly from Palm Parades straight to empty tombs. There is more to the story—and it’s hard to hear. But we must. Join us for Good Friday worship tonight at 7. Be a part of the whole story of Jesus’ life, death, and triumph over death.

[04/17/19]   Broadway Rehearsal Tonight Cancelled: Because of the severe weather threat from 5-9pm that includes the possibility of baseball-sized hail, I have cancelled the Broadway rehearsal tonight at church. Lewis has also canceled bell choir and choir rehearsals for tonight. Sent emails to everyone, but wanted to also share here in case some don't read their emails. Stay safe!

With donations of beautiful baby items and crocheted blankets, the ladies assembled 46 layettes for the new babies at Parkland Hospital. What a blessing!

Primetimers March "Mardi Gras" meeting with speaker, DeLayne Haga (Christian Author).

[03/07/19]   Don’t forget to Spring Forward this Saturday, March 9! Set your clocks up one hour!

Which will you get? Join us tonight at 7 as we prepare for a Holy Lent and Jesus the Christ marks us as his own.

[03/03/19]   Come eat pancakes and sausage. It’s just a little rain and the CLC looks great. Plus it’s toasty warm inside.

Easter bunny pancakes? Probably not this Sunday. But I guarantee they'll be just as fluffy as a little cotton tail. Join us for Fat Sunday pancakes in the CLC beginning at 8:30. Share great fellowship and fill up before Ash Wednesday. Plus you'll help our handbell choir raise money for needed repairs and maintenance on our 5-octave set of Schulmerich handbells.

Fun facts about pancakes:
1. Almost every culture since the ancient Romans has had an equivalent flat, fried bread.
2. In the Middle Ages, they were made with 3 "heads" as a reference to the holy Trinity and sprinkled with salt before eating.
3. In France, it's good luck to hold a coin in your hand when you flip the pancake.
4. We're serving pancakes in the CLC this Sunday, March 3, beginning at 8:30 as a fundraiser for our handbell maintenance.
We hope to see you there.

General information

At United Disciples Christian Church of Richardson, TX we want you to know that...God loves you, We Love you, and there's not a darn thing you can do about it!! If you're looking for a place to call home, a place where you can just be yourself, ask questions, connect with people, and make a difference in the world, check us out! We are a new congregation with a rich history. First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Richardson and Western Heights Christian Church of Garland "married" and created a new thing in United Disciples Christian Church. Though we bring rich histories from two separate congregations, we're constantly changing and growing into something new. On Sunday mornings at 10:30, we have a blended traditional-contemporary service...leaning more toward traditional. We have a great youth group and a growing children's ministry! Our church partners with the Early Learning Center to provide week day education to preschoolers. We LOVE outreach!
