We recently used an unusual source for making rose art prints - celery! We had a great time and our artwork reflects it!
Members from Third Church, Dallas visited us today to do a driveway parade, complete with balloons, bubbles, beads and big-hearted joy! We loved it! Thank you so much y'all!
Yesterday Yvonne Fitzwilliams, Director of Christian Science Nursing, gave a beautiful presentation on Ghana, where she was born. We learned so much about Ghana and enjoyed seeing many Ghanaian items such as bright and beautiful clothing, accessories and currency. Yvonne gave us a quick history lesson about the first African country, formerly known as the Gold Coast, to become independent from Britain. She also brought a poster of Ghanaian royalty and explained the clothing, food and culture. Thank you so much Yvonne, that was amazing! Please enjoy photos from her presentation.
On Thursday we thoroughly enjoyed a piano concert performed by Kayleigh Ebenrick!
Last Tuesday we enjoyed an online concert by "Together in Harmony" a group of 50+ young musicians who performed the concert from their homes via Zoom.
We've got 4 suggested ways to give to The Leaves! We're so grateful for all who are giving today on #GivingTuesdayNow.
[05/04/20] The fourth way to give to The Leaves during #GivingTuesdayNow is "botanically!" Our garden could use some support and "social distancing" outdoors in the garden is easy. Please consider a donation of a few herb or tomato plants, or of a little time in the herb or rose garden. Please call 972-643-3551 for more details. We appreciate you and are grateful for your support!
[05/04/20] "Neighborly" is the third way you can give to The Leaves during #GivingTuesdayNow. Creekside residents have been sheltering in-house for nearly 8 weeks now with no visitors coming in and residents not going out for events. They would love to hear from you! Please mail a note to "Residents at Creekside at The Leaves" for all of the residents to read! Thank you so much!
[05/04/20] The second of four ways you can give to The Leaves: financially. Please visit our website and click on the link to donate electronically. Or you can call our Business Manager Susie West (972)643-3523 or mail your donation to the address on our website. Thank you for your support!
[05/04/20] The first of four ways you can give to The Leaves: metaphysically. Please join us daily in prayer to support "the healing of the nations." The Leaves' name is from Rev. 22:2 "...and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations." Please check out our website for the other 3 ways!
The Leaves is participating in #GivingTuesdayNow - a global day of giving and unity that will take place on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. It’s an emergency response to the unprecedented need of the current environment. Visit our website for four ways you can give to The Leaves during #GivingTuesdayNow. https://www.theleaves.org
As an addition to our scheduled April activities at Creekside at the Leaves, Kayleigh Ebenrick presented a program about her techniques for painting. She worked on a piece and also had three beautiful pieces on display. So wonderful to see the artist at work! Thank you Kayleigh!
Stay tuned for more details!
