Getting ready for Sunday!
"And though faith is concerned with what we cannot see, hope provides us with sight beyond what we can see. In spite of our current circumstances, our suffering, or our anxieties, the resurrection of Jesus still fills our lives with the possibility to ignite our hope and renew our faith."

Almighty God, we lift up Lebanon and its people to you. May you wrap your loving arms around those who have lost loved ones, are injured or are suffering. We pray for emergency services who continue to search through the rubble. We pray that in the devastation and despair, there will be glimmers of hope and life. Amen.
Today we remember His sacrifice through virtual Communion. Have your elements ready prepared so you can participate during the Online Service, which begins in one hour!

Prior to worshiping, have elements (a cracker and juice) prepared so you can participate on virtual Communion during tomorrow's service.
Partake in virtual Communion during our service this Sunday, 10 AM. Fellowship cups (pre-filled Communion juice cups and wafer) are available outside the Sanctuary entrance (Door 1). Pick up a cup between now and Sunday prior to the service. You may also use your own bread and juice. Don't have bread or juice? Improvise. It doesn't matter what you use. What matters is remembering the body and blood of Jesus given for you.
🎶”Lord, hasten the day when our faith shall be sight,
the clouds be rolled back like a scroll,
the trumpet shall sound, and the Lord shall descend;
even so it is well with my soul.
It is well with my soul
It is well, it is well, with my soul"
Get ready to sing along this morning! Online worship starts in just an hour!

We want to express our deep gratitude to the person or persons who helped secure parts of our Black Lives Matter and LGBTQI+ banners. We believe that recent high winds tore loose some of the ties attaching the banners to the holder, as well as damaging the banners themselves. Before we were able to fix it, we realized that some very kindly person(s) had secured parts of the banners that must have been flapping in the wind. They were attached to the holder in ways that the wind couldn't have done. We continue to be blessed by our neighbors and hope we are a blessing as well. We plan to get the banners repaired/replaced quickly, but in the meantime they are again arrayed in their somewhat tattered, but still meaningful glory.
We can’t say enough how thankful we are for everyone who made virtual Vacation Bible School such a meaningful experience for our children last week! All the fun we had during VBS was showcased in worship yesterday. Thank you Indira and Mandela for singing to “Mars & Beyond,” the VBS theme song.

An open & affirming church, United Christian Parish is united in ministry: Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Presbyterian Church (USA), United Church of Christ and United Methodist. The practices and beliefs of all four denominations are seen in worship and our ministries. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to worship at God's table, no matter where they are on their faith journey. We intentionally work to be like Jesus - open to all we meet, regardless of any "labels" our society may attach to them.
