Very good news, so good to see this!
Our Lady visited St. Mary’s in Greenville, SC this past weekend (built in 1852)! https://smcgvl.org/ @OLOHChurch #flatlady
Joel and Charlotte’s families are reaching out to see if anyone from the community is aware of consistent childcare help. They are fully aware that they have an army of people willing and able to help, they are looking for one person who can provide full time care for stability of the children and to minimize germ exposure at home. Since Tuesday they haven’t left the hospital (as expected) so the family has been taken shifts in looking out for the rest of their kids and their home. This won’t be sustainable, particularly when school starts and people get back to work, looking for a nanny/au pair to help with child and house care moving forward. The family has made a loose list of requirements and responsivities to help with the search. Responsibilities • Care of 8y/o, 3y/o, and 1 y/o • Carpooling • Laundry • Meals • Cleaning Requirements: • Nanny/au pair experience • Over 25 years of age (preferred) • Experience with care to families with medical needs • Able to stay week nights at house • Able to work 40+ hrs a week • If possible, can start January 2nd (ambitious, I know). If you know of anyone please contact Leanne Sellier [email protected] for any leads on potential consistent care and for more detailed questions regarding compensation and schedule.
This is playing at Countryside and Brambleton now - we need to support the opening weekend so that more theatres will show the movie!
Is there any chance you could share this on your page and events please. Thank you so much.
Do we know when Bible School will be? Just trying to set up the kids' summer camps.

The Day the Sun Danced: The True Story of Fatima

Today is the feast of Saints Francisco and Jacinta Marto and Lucia dos Santo, the children from Fatima who witnessed the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

While herding a flock of sheep outside the tiny village of Fatima, Portugal, the Blessed Mother visited them, not once, but many times, telling the children great and wondrous secrets that would affect all of...

When the Good News was news - Catholic Digest

If you've been meaning to crack open that Bible, why not read Philemon? It's short enough to read in one sitting, but St. Paul manages to include lessons on conversion, love, mercy, and forgiveness in just 25 verses!

catholicdigest.com After having the benefit of 2,000 years of Christianity, we sometimes take the teachings of the Gospel for granted. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free person, there is not male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28) Equality before God? We are....

Even when it's not freezing outside, winter can be rough for some folks. It's important to remember that joy can be found in simple moments. Who can you reach out to and connect with this week?

When the time of David’s death drew near,⁣
he gave these instructions to his son Solomon:⁣
“I am going the way of all flesh.⁣
Take courage and be a man.⁣
Keep the mandate of the LORD, your God, following his ways⁣ and observing his statutes, commands, ordinances, and decrees⁣ as they are written in the law of Moses,⁣
that you may succeed in whatever you do,⁣
wherever you turn, and the LORD may fulfill⁣
the promise he made on my behalf when he said,⁣
‘If your sons so conduct themselves⁣
that they remain faithful to me with their whole heart⁣
and with their whole soul,⁣
you shall always have someone of your line⁣

As we wrap up #CatholicSchoolsWeek2020, we want to give a big shout-out to our OLOH Angels! These are folks just like you who give to our Guardian Angel Fund. ⁣⁣⠀
The Guardian Angel Fund provides an opportunity to respond with prayer, kindness, and support when a family within our school community is struggling. Unexpected hardships happen. Financial situations can change in an instant--job loss, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances can overwhelm a family. The fund allows families experiencing a crisis to meet their tuition obligation in a way that protects their dignity. Like the work of each of our guardian angels, this work of charity is unseen, but it has the important impact of allowing students to continue their education without interruption. ⁣⁣⠀
Many of us know the benefit of a Catholic education, and even more, the impact of a faith-based educational environment on the success of a young person in this life and the life to come. If you want to become a guardian angel and help Our Lady of Hope Catholic School #educateforeternity, contact Fr. Saunders today!⁣⁣⠀

Looking at the readings for the week is a great way to prepare for Sunday Mass, but it's not the only way. ⁣

Have you ever tried praying the collect? (It's that prayer the priest prays at the beginning of Mass.) Try adding it into your Sunday morning prayer, or pray it together as a family and talk about it during dinner on Saturday evening.⁣ Here's the collect for this Sunday:

Almighty ever-living God,⁣
we humbly implore your majesty that, ⁣
just as your Only Begotten Son was presented on this day in the Temple in the substance of our flesh, so, by your grace, we may be presented to you with minds made pure. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, ⁣
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.⁣

Or if you have a long commute, podcasts are a great way to dive deeper into the Scriptures and make the most of your time in traffic. We love the @SaintPaulCenter with Dr. Scott Hahn, and The @LankyGuys. Leave your favorite Catholic podcast in the comments!⁣

Join us in prayer for the protection of human life, especially that all who defend life find strength and renewal in the Holy Spirit. ⁣⁣
Our Father, 3 Hail Marys, Glory Be⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
Today's reflection from the USCCB:⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
God has carefully, tenderly created every person in His own image and likeness, to be in a loving relationship with Himself. From each tiny child knit within a mother’s womb, to every person approaching death, all are loved perfectly and completely by God. “It is therefore a service of love,” Pope Saint John Paul II explains, “which we are all committed to ensure to our neighbor, that his or her life may be always defended and promoted, especially when it is weak or threatened [emphasis added]” (Evangelium vitae 77).⁣

In a world in which the most vulnerable are so often overlooked and disregarded, Christ calls us to embrace and uphold the unconditional dignity of every human life. In answering this call, we help to build “a new culture of life, the fruit of the culture of truth and of love” (EV 77). May the Holy Spirit continually renew us as we strive to faithfully defend God’s gift of life.⁣

Shared Work Creates Abundance | Trinity House Community

We're so excited to host Trinity House Community's Heaven in Your Home workshop tonight! Check out our events for more information and to reserve your seat.

trinityhousecommunity.org For many of us, mid-winter means rolling up the sleeves on our day-to-day lives after a long break for the holidays. And our daily lives are built on a well-functioning home and family life.

Join us in prayer for the protection of human life, especially that civic leaders work for the protection of human life, in every stage and circumstance. ⁣

Our Father, 3 Hail Marys, Glory Be⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
Today's reflection from the USCCB:⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
The entire moral vision of our nation is based on respect for the dignity and sanctity of the human person. The Declaration of Independence boldly affirms that first among our inalienable rights is the right to life, given to us by the Creator. Yet despite being so solemnly proclaimed, the right to life is today threatened and often denied, particularly at the moments when life is most fragile. Our laws should—first and foremost—protect life; but currently our laws abandon the most vulnerable and violate our nation’s core principles. For “there can be no genuine justice in our society until the truths on which our nation was founded are more perfectly realized in our culture and law” (Living the Gospel of Life, 14).⁣

Laws and policies that legalize or promote an intrinsic evil like abortion violate the virtue of justice. Those who work as public officials and civic leaders have a duty to serve the common good, and therefore have a profound obligation to safeguard this most fundamental right. As Christians, we are called to be a leaven in the world, transforming our culture from within. Through our own prayer, witness, and civic participation, we can encourage our leaders to truly answer their call to protect the rights of all people. For “there can be no true democracy without a recognition of every person's dignity and without respect for his or her rights” (Evangelium vitae 101).⁣

Happy Catholic Schools Week! Our parish is blessed to have a vibrant and authentically Catholic k-8 school, and we're so excited to celebrate with Our Lady of Hope Catholic School this week. Even if you don't have a student in the school, there are still a lot of ways you can support this important part of our parish. Today we're asking for the most important thing of all--your prayers! ⁣⁣
Join us in praying:⁣

For our students, that they may be filled with the Holy Spirit as they learn and grow as Jesus did, in wisdom, age, and grace;⁣

For our faculty and staff, that they may strive to share their knowledge with gentle patience and endeavor always to bring the truth to those they teach;⁣

For the parents who sacrifice to ensure a faithful, Catholic education for their children, who are the future of the Church.⁣

May we all grow together in love of Christ!⁣
