Excited to start this new series with you all tomorrow. Join us in person at 6pm or on Zoom at 7pm. Can’t wait to see you!! (If you’re tuning in online, check with your parents for the link or DM us.)

Guess who’s back?!
RSU. This Saturday.
6 pm. You know the drill.

Happy New Year, all! We can’t wait to see you.

Winter break fun! Today @esmith_adventures and @messthedragon worked on packing vacuum sealed bags of kids clothes to organize the R/City outreach ministry closet. We had good food for the start and end of our day and watched a movie while working. Accomplishments 💛.

Tonight, progressive dinner looked different. Instead of being all together and continuing our tradition of enjoying a meal and meeting within our Elder’s homes, we met through Zoom. Tonight we heard from our Elders & Pastors (@wayne_wynter & Rasheeda, @iamkcampos & @melissasarahcampos, @jdailey & @christy_dailey, @pastoraarond & @danadeezer, and @johndelhousaye & Tiffany). You listened as our leaders spoke about their love for you and your value to the church and our community. Each and everyone of them echoing one another saying that you're seen, you're valuable, and you're needed in the body! This was such a sweet night to end this year.

2020 has presented serious challenges. COVID-19 has impacted us all in many different ways. Schools and churches were forced online. We were forced to separate from one another, loosing community and social interaction. The world around us seemed to be dividing rather than uniting and this was exposed more through the loss of lives due to COVID and racism in our country. Yet, in the midst of all the chaos, God proves Himself to be faithful. He gives us moments of laughter within our pain. He gives us family when we feel alone. God is a God who is gracious and tonight was a testimony of that truth. As humans, it's easy for us to only focus on the things we’ve lost and not reflect on what the Lord has been teaching us within challenging seasons. The hope is that this picture will serve as a monument and reminder of God's faithfulness within the challenges we've faced in 2020. Let us be reminded of God's grace through these tough times and future tough times. We're grateful for you and love you all dearly!

If you’re coming, comment below what your favorite thing about regathering has been?

Can’t wait to see you all!

**Sorry in advance for the blurry video**
This pass Saturday Pastor Rochto introduced a new sermon series we are embarking on for the rest of this year. We are looking into what it means to be apart of the body of Christ and apart of the church. We discussed that being apart of the body also means being a reconciler. Apart of being a reconciler means that we make peace and play a role in the restoration of broken things, such as relationships. In this week's Food For Thought, a recap of Saturday's lesson will be reviewed and we'll take some time to look at Jesus as the prime example of what it looks like to be a reconciler.
Scriptures to meditate on..
1. 2nd Corinthians 5:17-20
2. 1st Corinthians 8:1-3
3. John 8:1-11

RSU this Saturday 6 to 7pm!
Meet us outside with your masks on and ready to worship!

We are too.

Remember, keeping your mask on, using sanitizer, and respecting others’ space while we social distance is an act of love to our neighbors during this pandemic.

Meet us in the courtyard at 6pm!
Can’t wait to see you all.

Next Saturday, we’re meeting up again IN-PERSON at 6 pm for a shortened version of our RSU nights.

-Wear your mask
-maintain social distancing

If you or your family has been sick or potentially exposed, please stay home 🙏🏽

RSU serving opportunities is back on Mondays with a NEW TIME! After school hours (3-6pm). If you’re interested in coming to campus to do laundry, sort clothes and restock the Thrift Store...and while waiting for laundry either play some card games/online games together, play basketball in the gym, or just chill out in the courtyard (when it gets cooler). Contact @messthedragon to get on the scheduled rotation as there will be space for 2-3 students per week.

RSU Parents! Oh how much we miss being with your kiddos! The leadership team has spent time meeting and praying about what it could look like to gather again within the next few weeks. We have some ideas, but would love to hear from you as well. Please spend some time to share your thoughts with us by completing our survey. Link is in the bio OR you may access the link using our church’s app! Thank you very much!!!

RSU serving opportunity highlights! Shout out to the Klassen family (Isabella, Jude and their Mom- Lynette) for the loads of laundry we were able to sort through, organize and restock the Thrift Store Closet! If you’re interesting in serving, you can either message RSU directly or @messthedragon (Jessie Drachenberg) to get in on the Monday morning rotation.

a teaching through john 4:1-30

RSU serving opportunity @redemptionalh has begun. Monday mornings between 8am-12pm we are going to serve the R/City Outreach team by doing laundry, sorting through donations, and organizing the thrift store of clothes. To be a part of this serving opportunity: contact @messthedragon (Jessie Drachenberg) • must bring face mask and a water bottle • adhere to physical/social distancing guidelines that’s posted on campus. We will have a max of 2 students per leader on campus - so sign up ahead of time is a must. ...and you never know if a lunch outing will be included 😉

Good morning family! It’s not to late to join in on our “10 w/Him Challenge”. Today is day #6 and we’re reading John 4:1-26. To participate, download the reading guide (link in bio), and simply read for 5 minutes, sit in silence for 3 minutes, and pray for 2 minutes. The challenge is about growth, not perfection, so don’t beat yourself up if you struggle. Simply practice faithfulness and see what God does!

10 w/ Him Challenge

Reading Through The Book Of John

Steps To Participate

1. Read Assigned Scripture Daily
2. Spend Time in Solitude/Silence
3. Pray

Link To The Reading Plan:

STOP and consider your thoughts and emotions today. As you look at your social media accounts this morning and see all the error happening in our world with images of sickness, racism, and death, take a moment to reflect and think about who or what is influencing your response to these issues. Is it the media? Is it Jesus?

Pastor Wayne and Aaron preached a 🔥🔥 sermon yesterday (link in the bio) on Hebrews 13:1-3, check it out if you haven’t done so. Also, spend some time reading and reflecting on Hebrews 13:1-3 in light of our country’s issues.

End with prayer asking God to bring to mind 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE that He wants you to BLESS and SERVE over the next few weeks. Try to intentionally seek out a person in the CHURCH FAMILY, someone who is DIFFERENT THAN YOU or a STRANGER, and someone who is MISTREATED or IMPRISONED. Once God lays these 3 people on your heart, write down their names and what God wants you to do with/for them. Pray some more, then DO what God has led you to do.

Do you miss RSU? We do too.

On behalf of all our leaders, we just wanted to say thanks for joining us for our IG live nights and our Zoom calls. It’s so good to be able to see your faces, check in, and have fun during this ugly and stressful time in America.

We hope you’re all tuning into our church live-streams too!

We’ve got some more ways to stay connected this summer coming your way soon 👏🏽

Til then, please reach out to your leaders, let’s FaceTime, text, call, ALL THE THINGS. We are always here for you.

We love you!

After doing Lectio Divina, go back and read The Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6: 9-13), and then re-read the verses we mentioned in our Riff of The Lord's Prayer (Ephesians 6:10-13). Writer your answers to the following questions:

1. Where are you getting tired, complacent, embittered, or apathetic in this season of life, towards God or towards others?
2. How can this be an area of life where you're holding back - trying to fix it on your own - and not fully handing it over to or trusting in the Deliverer (Jesus)?
3. Looking now at Eph. 6:14-17, what part of God's armor do you need to strengthen or "sure up" those areas in your life where you're feelings tired, complacent, embittered, apathetic, or even trying to do it on your own?
4. Who can you share this with as a way of both "being with" and "being seen" by another trusted individual in your life as well as support yourself in gaining accountability?

Remember that God's answer to deliverance wasn't answered with a "how" or "what" but with a "who" (Jesus).

It's a relational/complex answer. While God does the macro (big) healing and deliverance, at times He invites us into "being with" one another as a way of being a tangible relational representation (ambassador) of His healing.

Remember, the Lord's Prayer doesn't say "deliver me" it says "deliver us."

After doing Lectio Divina, go back and read The Lord’s Prayer and re-read the verse we mentioned. Write your answers to these questions in your journal:

When you think and pray about the name you wrote down before Lectio Divina, do you feel the Lord teaching you anything?

What comes to your mind when you think of “bitterness” while reading Ephesians 4:31-32?

Does “forgiveness” have a different impact when you read the Lord’s prayer after meditating on these verses?

Is there someone God is telling you to forgive right now?

What else about these verses are you noticing?

Our Daily Bread — Devotional

After doing our Lectio Divina (go back and watch / read the verses in John mentioned in our previous post) get a journal and jot down your answers to these questions:

• Has the way you think about prayer or asking God for things changed? If so, how?

• When Jesus said in John 6:35 that He is the bread of life, whoever comes to me shall not hunger..” what is your reaction?

• What do you think Jesus meant in the Lord’s Prayer when He said “give us our daily bread?”

• During your time at home in quarantine, what “needs” do you find yourself wanting or asking God for?

• What else in John 6:32-40 stands out to you?
