GOOD MORNING HOUSE OF PRAYER FAMILY :) ENJOY THIS BLESSED DAY WITH THE LORD .WISH I COULD :( WAS IN PAIN HALF THE NIGHT MY KIDNEY :( BUT PRAYING FOR GODS HEALING TOUCH SOON :) GOD IS GOOD. LOVE AN MISS EVERYONE :)
Okay, Everyone we have a praise report we got a phone call today from the oncologist and all Donald's scans came back cancer free, all the praise to our heavenly father and all your prayers!!!
Would like to update on everyone on Donald's condition has improved, but he still has a long way to go, thanks for all the prayers!
Good afternoon Bro. Jimmy and the awesome group of God's Children at the House of Prayer Church of God. I would like to take a moment just to tell you what an impact your group has made on this old 75 year old Child of God. Not only were you all soo wonderful and thoughtful enough to hold those 22 pews for our little Church of Providence Baptist Church, But you all helped to make the move soo wonderful and as easy as could be under the circumstances. "heavy lifting that is".It's folks like youall there that makes me glad to be a christian, and to serve a mighty God that loves us unconditionally. The pews look amazing in our sanctuary, and fit soo beautifully. God was in this thing from the very beginning and it seemed that it was His order for us to have them. All those from our church that were there when we got back to unload, were in awe over them, and they made our little sanctuary look like they had been there all the time. Again thank you Bro Jimmy and all you wonderful folks there at House of Prayer, for your kindness. God Bless you all and let's hope that God blesses both churches with an over abundance of souls and will create a ministry that is over flowing for His kingdom. We will certainly be praying for you all and ask that you all ask God's blessings on us here. On a final note. After the guys got the pews unloaded, We fed them bar B que and all the fixings in our fellowship hall, and we were able to have a small service with them and sang to them and Bro Jeff had a small msg for them. They were great and worked soo hard. We also had some special songs for them and they really seemed to enjoy it. Thanks again and God Bless. You will never be forgotten.
If I may I would like to ask for special prayer. God knows what’s going on. Just a situation that only God can move. Thank you HOP family ! ❤️
To the HOP Family: Brother Neal Pinkard's sister passed away this morning. For those that remember Virginia it was her. I don't know the details yet but Brother Del Pinkard sent me the message.
Just sharing in case anyone is interested in going tonight or Tuesday night....
Bro. Neal Pinkard I know you had to keep it short for us to get to service but I really enjoyed your Sunday school lesson !
And sis. Gladys Smith I know you said you were nervous playing today but you could not tell it. you played beautifully and I always enjoy when we get to sing the hymns !
Good time being in the house of the Lord this morning ! 🙌🙌
Missing a few of my kids in kidszone this morning. Can’t wait to see you all back next Sunday ! ❤️
Happy Grandparents Day
We had a little summer fun for our Kidszone crew. They had a blast !
Troy Richardson, an ordained bishop in the Church of God, would love to come and be with your congregation for a time of music and ministry. Please contact us at 859-433-5104 or [email protected] for more information. Have a blessed day.

The Empty Pew

It is hard to imagine a time when churches did not have air conditioning, running water, cushioned chairs or pews. A church where there was a bucket of water in the corner with a dipper that everyone shared. The windows would be opened in the heat and people would crowd together for warmth in the winter. If you had to use the bathroom, you would have to make the long journey to the outhouse. Yet with all of these inconveniences, Sundays use to be a time when people gathered at the church house to hear God’s Word. Many churches didn’t have Sunday School or youth programs and everyone was in the sanctuary to worship, hear God’s Word, and be together. Pews were filled and I heard a lady this past weekend say she remembered when there was no more room in the church, people gathered outside by the windows and doors to hear the preacher preach the Word. God was a priority. Family was a priority.

People will say, “It was a simpler time back then.” Was it? People worked hard from sun up to sun down, most families were fortunate to have one car, and most items were handmade. Yet with everything they had to do on any given day, they made time for God and church.

Unfortunately today, it seems God and church is no longer a priority in too many families. The empty pew is becoming more common in churches throughout our nation. I have heard it said the church needs to change with the times, the church needs to cater to the people, the church needs more programs, the church......

Whatever happened to the thought of the church raising disciples and ministering to the community? Whatever happened to the church being a place where people came to greet one another to share the Word of God and to encourage one another in a life of holiness and righteousness? Whatever happened to people wanting to serve instead of being served?

The empty pew breaks my heart. Are people just too busy for God or do they just not care anymore? Either way, as more and more churches close their doors and people begin to remember when there use to be a place where God’s people would gather, one day when all the church doors are closed, maybe then, just maybe, people will once again rediscover their thirst to know who God is and to be with one another for worship and prayer.

[06/13/21]   No service tonight.

[06/11/21]   How can we pray for you?

[06/08/21]   As church attendance numbers fade across the nation and online services become very convenient (who doesn't love not getting ready in the morning or leaving the home?!), it's important to remember why church attendance for you and your family matters so much.

You can't serve from your sofa. You can't have community of faith on your sofa. You can't experience the power of a room full of believers worshipping together on your sofa.

Christians aren't consumers either. We are contributors. We don't watch. We engage. We give. We sacrifice. We encourage. We do life together.

The church needs you.
And you need the church.

Wherever you are, find a local church where you and your family can be part of community and use your talents to advance the kingdom and reach others. To come alongside one another physically, not just through a screen. While I'm grateful for technology to keep people connected that can't physically come to a facility or need to be away, it's absolutely not like being in the building. Never will be.

Yes, church on the sofa is nice.
But it'll never be the same as church in the sanctuary. Martha Hendricks Raines

STOP LETTING OTHER PEOPLE DETERMINE YOUR WORSHIP!🗣 It does not matter if everyone else isn’t raising their hands, kneeling at the altar or shouting with praise. YOU STILL CAN!🔥

Worshipping God in spirit and in truth is your born again BIRTH RIGHT! You do NOT have to fit your adoration for Jesus into a cute little box. It can be radical. It can be exuberant. It can be loud. It can be quite. It is between YOU AND GOD not you and man!

Do not hold back because of the atmosphere you’re in. You’re called to be a thermostat not a thermometer!🌡
