All Saints Lutheran Church Orlando

All Saints Lutheran Church is a vibrant Christian community located in south Orlando. We are a family and fellowship oriented community of faith who enjoys worshiping God together. Come join us Sundays for worship at 9:30am. Everyone is welcome.

Mission: We are a non-profit organization, specifically a Christian church. We are a member of the group of churches, one of the largest mainline denominations in America. Our mission is to share the love and grace of Jesus Christ with everyone we come in contact with, through fellowship, service, relationship, and worship.

We are ready for those that would like to come and worship with us this morning. Masks are available and we are taking temperatures and social distancing. #allsaintsorlando #orlandocurch

Grace and peace to you from our Lord and savior Jesus Christ

Our country is no longer singularly Christian, if it ever was, diverse voices are clawing, tearing down and trying to silence Christian’s at the precise moment in our history where Jesus is needed. If we all had hearts like Christ, the troubles in our nation, cities and homes would be conquered by love, forgiveness, grace and mercy.
Jesus welcomed all into his midst. He ate and socialized with outsiders, foreigners, regardless of ethnicity, language and beliefs. Jesus respected, taught and healed all of those in need. Spreading respect, dignity and grace just as Jesus has done is the only path forward.
Many in our society are angry and rightly so. Yet, anger and hate can never lead to positive growth. Anger and hate only breed more anger and hate. Hostilely towards one another only leads to more hostilely and it creates an environment where nothing can move forward.
Destroying business, statues, illegally occupying parts of a city, protesting, accusing people of being racist or censoring speech because they disagree with you is hate disguised as reform and nothing good grows from hate.
Every profession has its bad apples, they need to be removed. We can and should regulate police and anti-discriminatory practices but this does nothing towards changing hearts. Revolutionizing hearts can only happen by allowing Jesus’ principles of forgiveness, grace and mercy to guide us. It is imperative, we adopt Jesus principals, not just intellectually, we must allow them to permeate all the way into our souls and become the building blocks of our personalities, thoughts and actions.
Jesus, Martin Luther and Martin Luther King Jr just to name a few, did not advocate for a violent over throw of the wrongs they encountered. They understood that if you want a permanent and lasting change; you must first change hearts and minds.
We cannot allow ourselves to be overcome by those who use fear and intimidation strategies, disguised as enlightenment, to silence our voices of grace and mercy. Our country, cities and homes should never be places where anything and everything is acceptable. They should be places where God’s values flow freely and abundantly.
Our society may become more pluralistic but our faith does not need to be diluted or silenced.

Yours in Christ

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (See Ecclesiastes 3:1-8) There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.

Everything, we are now experiencing will eventually pass, and a new reality will move in. This is nothing new, individually and as a nation, we have navigated our way through many harrowing changes.
How many times have Ebola, Sars, Zika, Polio, HIV, Smallpox, Measles and the Bubonic Plague have reared their ugly heads? The world is ever evolving and transitioning, often through difficult, deadly and challenging times but through it all, we can always count on a better tomorrow.
How easily, we move forward through today’s trials depends on what captures our attention. As human beings we have a choice. We can either focus on the negative aspects of our current circumstances or we can concentrate on Jesus. Jesus brings new possibilities, which steers us away from uncertainty and anxiety that can be associated with continuingly concentrating on the negative aspects of life.
The disciples and Paul too faced difficult and grueling times themselves. When we read the Bible, it appears that they navigated those uneasy experiences almost effortlessly. How is this possible? Upon close examination, what stands out the most seems to be where they focused their attention. They concentrated on Jesus and not on the situations that they found themselves in. (Remember when Peter walked on water? He did it until he took his eyes off of Jesus. Matthew 14: 29 & 30)
Their faith enabled them to navigate successfully through their immediate circumstances. Focusing on God didn’t necessarily alleviate their problems, but it did allow them to move forward without being hindered by doubt, insecurity or fear.
During these seasons of challenges that we are all currently experiencing, it is important to focus on Jesus and view life from a faith-based perspective. Centering on Jesus allows hope to flourish instead of trepidation and misery.
