Town Hall is now preparing Welcome Kits for new families that are moving into our community.

Our Welcome Kits feature and direct these new families to a small number of local businesses for the goods, services & professionals that they need to find.

Since our Welcome Kits are exclusive, and we can only accommodate one Day Care/Pre-School Center, I would ask you to kindly let me know if you are interested in being the featured Day Care Facility in our local Welcome Kits.

It is worthy to note that, according to Dr. Cathy Goodwin in her book “Making the Big Move”, 33% of new residents and families seek out a new Child Care Center shortly after their relocation. As such, approximately 1 out of 3 recipients of our Welcome Kits are actively seeking a new Child Care Center.

I would like to schedule a time when you are expecting me so that I may drop off a sample of our "Welcome Kit" and explain the program in greater detail.

Please reply to this message with your availability or call me at your earliest convenience.

For a faster response, or if you prefer, feel free to text me on my cell which is listed in my signature.

Thanks.

THIS WEEKEND! Cultivating a Commitment to Prayer --
Anytime throughout Friday, March 26 and the end of the day Sunday, March 28, we'd like to encourage you to be part of an intentional prayer vigil. Set aside up to 30 minutes of devoted prayer time to share your heart with God. Not sure how to spend 30 minutes in prayer? The ACTS model can help - there are four parts
Adoration - share what you adore about who God is
Confession - confess your sins
Thanksgiving - give thanks to God
Supplication - ask God for His help/intervention/wisdom
You can pray alone or with family/friends. It's all about relationship, and how can you know and trust God without talking to Him regularly!?! Let us know how it goes at [email protected].

Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Season of Lent. "Good News from the Ashes"

Hymn: “O Lord, Throughout these Forty Days” LSB 418, Luke 4: 1-3:
Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end he was hungry. 3 The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”

"Today we begin our forty day Lenten journey. It is a journey most of us reading or experiencing these devotions have been on many times before. It is a journey meant to take us deeper.

But the truth is that too often, I’m not as deep as I should be when it comes to facing my sin condition. No, instead of digging deep and getting to the heart of my failure and brokenness, my need, I’m shallow and I just skim over them.

Our sin is so ingrained into our lives that we often just don’t recognize it or we minimize it and skim right over it. This results in us giving little thought to sin’s seriousness, impact and just how deep it really runs in our lives.

So, Ash Wednesday, just doesn’t come naturally. We don’t see ourselves as “that bad” or really that far from how we should live or any different than how others live. Yet, as we read in Romans 3, “ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

With that as background, hear again the words of Psalm 51 attributed to David following his sin with Bathsheba, the murder of her husband Uriah, and finally the subsequent confrontation with the prophet Nathan where his sin was called out: “Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your steadfast love; according to Your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.”
Today, with ashes on our foreheads, our sin is quite literally “before” us, and so we echo the Psalmist’s prayer. “Have mercy on me, O God…for my sin is ever before me.”

But wait my friends…there’s more! Our God does not leave us there in our sin. You and I, we are given these forty days to pray, reflect, go deep in understanding our condition, our need…and the Lord’s provision! The Hymn: “O Lord, throughout these forty days” is a gift. It reminds us that the Lord Himself was truly man and, He was tempted. He prayed and kept a fast. He struggled. But knowing that when attacked and tempted by Satan, Jesus stood strong in the power of God’s Holy Word, that, as the hymn says, “lends us His nerve, skill and trust…in God’s eternal Word!”

Yes, these forty days lead us to go deep in coming face to face with our sin. Lent, our Scripture readings and these hymns we’ll be exploring are not just about human nature – they are also about God’s nature. God’s “steadfast” love and undeserved “abundant” mercy. And the good news is that God is willing to forgive sinners and raise us up from the ashes."

Devotion written by Rev James Rockey, Pastor at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church in The Villages.

-God bless you as you take this Lenten journey toward the Cross.

Our Child Development Center classrooms have been sharing the love of Jesus in our community! Well done kids, parents and teachers!!

We continue to experience the joy of receiving gifts from special friends of ODN. One of our previous teachers, Ms. Lindsay, organized a school and book supply share with her students at Trinity Downtown - The Ministries of Trinity Lutheran Church & School and delivered their collection today. Our children were so excited to receive their classroom's goodies and can't wait to start using them. We are so grateful you thought of us. 🥰
