GREAT MARTYR GEORGE, THE TROPHY BEARER

SUNDAY OF REGIONAL ALL SAINTS

6 / 21 / 2020

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION IN THIS E-MAIL/BULLETIN-THERE IS ALWAYS NEW INFORMATION-THANKS

*****OUR AIR-CONDITIONER HAS BEEN REPAIRED WITH TWO NEW COMPRESSORS COOLING OUR BEAUTIFUL CHURCH!!!- THANK GOD!!!

APOSTLE'S FAST BEGAN ON MONDAY, JUNE 15th and lasts until June 29th.

FACIAL MASKS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE NARTHEX NEAR THE CANDLE SAND BOX.

Image result for people rudely talking and socializing during church ORTHODOX DIVINE LITURGY is always sung: the Priest & clergy, the choir and hopefully the laity. THERE IS NO WHERE IN THE DIVINE LITURGY FOR PEOPLE TO BE TALKING TO EACH OTHER OR ON THE PHONE. IT IS VERY DISTRACTING TO THE FAITHFUL PRESENT WHEN PEOPLE ARE CHATTING AND SOCIALIZING IN CHURCH-THAT IS WHAT THE SOCIAL HOUR IN THE HALL IS FOR.
ALSO, IF SOMEONE ARRIVES AFTER THE DIVINE LITURGY HAS BEGUN, THEY SHOULD AS QUIETLY AS POSSIBLE QUICKLY GET TO THEIR SEAT, MAKE THE SIGN OF THE CROSS AND JOIN IN THE PRAYING. WE NEVER WANT TO BE A CAUSE OF DISTRACTION TO OTHERS WHO ARE IN CHURCH TO PRAY AND ENCOUNTER THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. THANK YOU.

Image result for people taking precautions not to shake hands or embrace to avoid spreading germs GUIDELINES TO AVOID SPREADING GERMS AT CHURCH: We are trying to be proactive to keep everyone well. In accordance with this effort we are enacting the following recommendations: 1. Please do not shake hands, fist bump or even elbow contact - instead let us just make a short bow in greeting each other; 2. Instead of kissing icons, the Holy Cross, the bottom of the Holy Chalice - just touch the icons, the Holy Cross and the bottom of the Holy Chalice with your forehead; 3. The blessed altar bread pieces for after receiving Holy Communion and at the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy will be placed on a large tray so that each person can pick their own piece off the tray rather than being in a bowl; 4. For the foreseeable future, we will be suspending the common cup of wine/blessed warm water for those who have received Holy Communion. Please keep in mind that germs which can cause death CANNOT be transmitted through the HOLY COMMUNION.

SUNDAY OF REGIONAL ALL SAINTS - June 21st, 2020

HEREIN ARE THE THE HOLY SCRIPTURE READINGS for Sunday, June 21st, 2020.

Holy Myrrh-bearing Saint Mary Magdalene at the empty Tomb (With ...

MATIN GOSPEL: St. MARK 16 : 1 - 8

"When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, so that they might go and anoint Jesus. And very early on the first day of the week they went to the tomb when the sun had risen. And they were saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone for us from the door of the tomb?" And looking up, they saw that the stone was rolled back, for it was very large. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe; and they were amazed. And he said to them, "Do not be amazed; you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen, he is not here; see the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him, as he told you." And they went out and fled from the tomb; for trembling and astonishment had come upon them; and they said nothing to any one, for they were afraid."

EPISTLE: Romans 2 : 10 - 16

Let your mercy, O Lord, be upon us.
Verse: Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous.

"Brethren, glory and honor and peace for every one who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek. For God shows no partiality. All who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. When Gentiles who have not the law do by nature what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that what the law requires is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness and their conflicting thoughts accuse or perhaps excuse them on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus."

Our Cross, and the Cross of Christ / OrthoChristian.Com

St. MATTHEW 4 : 18 : 23

"At that time, as Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Immediately they left their nets and followed him. And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. Immediately they left their boat and their father, and followed him. And he went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every infirmity among the people."
