The Saint Rebekah Coptic Orthodox Church : 12700 Balcombe Rd, Orlando, FL 32837
Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who “ will render to each one according to his deeds” : eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath,
But the following night the Lord stood by him and said, “Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome.”
Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews.
These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. Therefore many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men.
We wish to live your life: we wish to be like you: remember us in your prayer: the strong Abba Moses.
Before the exalted throne: before God the great remember us our beloved father: the strong Abba Moses.
But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were loosed.
And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open,
The Gentile Pentecost
While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.
And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.
For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered, “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? ”And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.
Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word.
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them.
And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed.
And there was great joy in that city.
O God, I proclaim the magnificent things You did,
Even to the highest heaven; O God, who is like You?
How great and evil are the afflictions You showed me, And You returned, and made me live;
And You raised me up again from the depths of the earth.
You multiplied Your greatness,
And You returned and comforted me; You brought me up again from the depths of the earth.
Truly, I will give thanks to You with the instrument of a psalm, O God; I will sing to You with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.
My lips will greatly rejoice when I sing to You;
So will my soul, which You redeemed.
My tongue shall meditate on Your righteousness all the day long, When those who seek evils for me are dishonored and shamed.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
1 Peter 3-5
The dead shall rise up; and those in the tombs shall arise. Those in the earth shall be glad, for your dew is a healing for them, but the land of the ungodly shall come to an end.”
The dead shall rise up: “Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and upon those in the tombs, bestowing life.
“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
“Death prevailed and swallowed them, but again God wiped away every tear from every face; He took away the disgrace of His people from all the earth; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
Humanity's rebellion against God has given death the power to prevail, but Christ will destroy death and then wipe away every tear.
In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,
buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.
And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,
“For he who has died has been freed from sin.
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.
For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:7-11
A physical body, once it is dead, makes no response to its environment. So we who died with Christ in baptism must not respond to the promptings of sin, and the desires of this world for we are freed from sin.

Today marks the departure of St. Athanasius the Apostolic the 20th. Pope of Alexandria.
St. Athanasius is a pillar of our church who despite the five exiles was a true defender of our Coptic faith and the Nicene creed. Due his steadfastness and his firm stand for justice, the world described him by the saying: "Athanasius against the world."
May we learn from his example and not be swayed by all that we face in today's society but to have true understanding and be true witnesses of our Coptic faith.
May the blessings and prayers of St. Athanasius be with us all.
Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them.
When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
“Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.”
Hail to you, O martyr: Hail to you the Evangelist: Hail to the Apostle: Mark the Beholder of God.
Lift up the gates, O you rulers,
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors,
And the King of glory shall enter.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord powerful in battle.
Lift up the gates, O you rulers,
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors,
And the King of glory shall enter.
Who is this King of Glory?
The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory.
“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”
1 Corinthians 15:50-53
Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”†
Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.
And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
Then many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to disgrace and everlasting shame.
Those who understand shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and some who are righteous, like the stars of heaven forever and ever.
So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.
And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.
Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

Christ is risen. Truly He is risen
“We presume to entreat you for all our holy fathers, who have fallen asleep, and for the holy remembrance of your servant Hegumen father Gerges Gerges, who has departed from the body, and comes to you, O God of all and has returned to the earth from which he was taken.
As for his soul, it is a holy and blessed charge. May He has repose, coolness, and rest and May he has a good standing in the tabernacles of the elect.”
St. Rebekah church sends her condolences;
To our fathers, Bishop Youssef, Bishop Basil, and Bishop Gregory.
To our dear father Jerome Maximos.
To All family members of Hegumen fr. Gerges Gerges.

May The Lord give them heavenly comfort.
“Then He was placed in the tomb according to the prophetic voices, on the third day, Christ rose from the dead.”
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia
Jesus Christ the king of Glory, rose from the dead.
Christ is risen Truly He is risen
“Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’ Hosanna in the highest!””
Psali Watos for Lazarus Saturday
“Come all together, to praise and sing to the Lord, Jesus Christ The Word, who raised Lazarus”
A double-tongued man reveals deliberations heard in council, But a man faithful in spirit conceals matters.
Those for whom there is no leadership fall like leaves, But there is salvation in much counsel.
“The mouth of a righteous man distills wisdom,
But the tongue of an unrighteous man utterly destroys.
The lips of righteous men distill grace,
But the mouth of the ungodly is perverse.”
Blessed Annunciation feast
“There are daughters of kings in Your honor;
The queen stood at Your right hand in apparel interwoven with gold,
And adorned and embroidered with various colors.”
Thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, who made the things that are to come: “Ask Me concerning My sons and daughters; and command Me concerning the works of My hands.
I made the earth and mankind upon it. With My hand I established heaven and commanded all the stars.
