[01/21/20]   Hey guys! We have been presented with an amazing opportunity to get involved with a new ministry being started at St. James called Open Table.

Open Table uses a group volunteer format to affect change within communities, something we think there is a great need for in Orlando.

If anyone is interested in learning more information about this ministry, there are two information sessions happening this week:

Wednesday the 22nd, from 6-7 PM in the Parish Council Room (right before Holy Hour Happy Hour!!!), and
Thursday the 23rd, from 10-11 AM in the Parish Council Room.

Please pray about potentially volunteering for this ministry, and if you didn't get the hint above, the first information session is conveniently right before Holy Hour Happy Hour tomorrow. Coincidence? We think NOT. (h/t Holy Spirit)

Dear St. James families,

As we continue to monitor the path of Hurricane Dorian, it seems that it will make landfall sometime on Monday. For that reason, we have made the following adjustments in our schedule:

Friday, August 30, 2019 – the Cathedral Office will close at 12:00PM
Saturday, August 31, 2019 – regular Mass & Confession schedule
Sunday, September 1, 2019 – 5:00PM Mass has been canceled
Monday, September 2, 2019 – all events have been canceled
Tuesday, September 3, 2019 – all events have been canceled

We will pay close attention to weather advisories for updates, to decide Mass & events schedule for Wednesday-Friday.

May our good Lord bless you and your loved ones.

Prayer for an End to Storms

O God, to whose commands
all the elements give obedience,
we humbly entreat you,
that the stilling of fearsome storms
may turn a powerful menace
into an occasion for us to praise you.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

Get ready for a great month ahead of us!!
