For this reason I kneel before the Father,
from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,
that he may grant you in accord with the riches of his glory
to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner self,
and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith;
that you, rooted and grounded in love,
may have strength to comprehend with all the holy ones
what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge,
so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. #orlandocatholic #ordinariateorlando #orlandoordinariate #stjohnfishercatholicchurch #sacredheartofjesus #forgiveusjesus

Jesus said to his disciples:
“You are the salt of the earth.
But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned?
It is no longer good for anything
but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
You are the light of the world.
A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket;
it is set on a lampstand,
where it gives light to all in the house.
Just so, your light must shine before others,
that they may see your good deeds
and glorify your heavenly Father.” - Matthew 5:13-16 #orlandocatholic #orlandoordinariate #ordinariateorlando #todaysgospel #saltoftheearth #lightoftheworld

When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain,
and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him.
He began to teach them, saying:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the land.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you
and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me.
Rejoice and be glad,
for your reward will be great in heaven.
Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” - Matthew 5:1-12 #orlandocatholic #orlandoordinariate #ordinariateorlando #todaysgospel #catholic #beatitudes

St. John Fisher

St. John Fisher is almost half-way to its fundraising goal for our new building. While we would LOVE to build a church like this, our plan is to build a traditional and beautiful Catholic church building in East Orlando. A place worthy of the sacred mysteries to which we have been entrusted.

Please join our efforts by donating to our building fund. All donations are tax-deductible and we are grateful for gifts of any size. Online donations can be made by clicking here: https://secure.anedot.com/st-john-fisher-catholic-church/tithes_offerings

One of the scribes came to Jesus and asked him,
“Which is the first of all the commandments?”
Jesus replied, “The first is this:
Hear, O Israel!
The Lord our God is Lord alone!
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, with all your mind,
and with all your strength.
The second is this:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
There is no other commandment greater than these.” - Mark 12 #orlandocatholic #stjohnfishercatholicchurch #todaysreading #lovethelordyourgod #loveyourneighbor #greatestcommandment #catholic #orlandoordinariate #ordinariateorlando

As Jesus was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a sizable crowd,
Bartimaeus, a blind man, the son of Timaeus,
sat by the roadside begging.
On hearing that it was Jesus of Nazareth,
he began to cry out and say,
“Jesus, son of David, have pity on me.”
And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent.
But he kept calling out all the more, “Son of David, have pity on me.”
Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”
So they called the blind man, saying to him,
“Take courage; get up, Jesus is calling you.”
He threw aside his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
Jesus said to him in reply, “What do you want me to do for you?”
The blind man replied to him, “Master, I want to see.”
Jesus told him, ‘Go your way; your faith has saved you.”
Immediately he received his sight
and followed him on the way. - Mark 10:46-52 #orlandocatholic #stjohnfishercatholicchurch #orlandoordinariate #ordinariateorlando #todaysgospel #masteriwanttosee #yourfaithhassavedyou #jesushavepityonme

Peter began to say to Jesus,
‘We have given up everything and followed you.”
Jesus said, “Amen, I say to you,
there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters
or mother or father or children or lands
for my sake and for the sake of the Gospel
who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present age:
houses and brothers and sisters
and mothers and children and lands,
with persecutions, and eternal life in the age to come.
But many that are first will be last, and the last will be first.” - Mark 10:28-31 #orlandocatholic #orlandoordinariate #ordinariateorlando #stjohnfishercatholicchurch #todaysgospel #thefirstwillbelastandthelastwillbefirst #eternallife #forthesakeofthegospel

On that day, the Holy Trinity is fully revealed. Since that day, the Kingdom announced by Christ has been open to those who believe in him: in the humility of the flesh and in faith, they already share in the communion of the Holy Trinity. By his coming, which never ceases, the Holy Spirit causes the world to enter into the "last days," the time of the Church, the Kingdom already inherited though not yet consummated. - CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH 732 #orlandocatholic #stjohnfishercatholicchurch #orlandoordinariate #ordinariateorlando #pentecost #holyspirit #tonguesoffire

Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying:
“I pray not only for these,
but also for those who will believe in me through their word,
so that they may all be one,
as you, Father, are in me and I in you,
that they also may be in us,
that the world may believe that you sent me.
And I have given them the glory you gave me,
so that they may be one, as we are one,
I in them and you in me,
that they may be brought to perfection as one,
that the world may know that you sent me,
and that you loved them even as you loved me.
Father, they are your gift to me.
I wish that where I am they also may be with me,
that they may see my glory that you gave me,
because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
Righteous Father, the world also does not know you,
but I know you, and they know that you sent me.
I made known to them your name and I will make it known,
that the love with which you loved me
may be in them and I in them.” -John 17:20-26. #orlandocatholic #orlandoordinariate #ordinariateorlando #todaysgospel #catholic #stjohnfishercatholicchurch #jesuspraysforus
