Yesterday, Bishop Noonan and the other bishops from Region XIV (Florida, Georgia, South Carolina) met with Pope Francis to discuss the state of the Church in their respective dioceses. All diocesan bishops are required to participate in an ad limina visit to Rome every five years. During the visit, they meet with Pope Francis and pray at the tombs of the Apostles.

Most of us have heard the news of the tragic deaths of Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and several friends yesterday in a helicopter crash in California. Many people knew that Kobe was one the greatest players on the court but may be unaware of Kobe off the court. Kobe was a practicing Catholic whose faith was an important aspect of his life. The article below highlights how Kobe and his family clung to their faith in moments of hardship.
May all those who perished in yesterday’s accident be received into the loving embrace of God the Father and may their family members and friends be consoled by Jesus during this difficult time.

Here is the story of the 177 project that came to St. Charles.
“For me, Adoration has been one of, if not my most powerful experience of encounter. Like any testimony or witness, you want to share whatever that is — to be awed in the presence and share that with young people,” said Pastore, who is faith formation director at the Orlando parish. “It’s been amazing to watch the transformative power of Eucharistic Adoration. It breaks down walls, it allows permission for vulnerability. To say maybe I’m broken, and maybe I’m a little bit messed up, and maybe I have stuff going on, but when I’m there, I felt the warmth, the love and the light of Christ.” Diocese of Orlando @adorationartists #177project Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church

"On Christmas morning we hear the Scripture from Isaiah proclaim, “They name Him Wonderful Counsellor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.” His Peace invites us to be compassionate, generous and joyful to all the people. May His Peace be upon our heart this holy season and always. Merry Christmas!" - Bishop John Noonan

– Bishop Noonan
