Operating as usual
Good Morning Sisters!
I have been gone quite a bit this past summer helping my kids, having company, and my kids coming here. It has been a whirlwind. But I have remembered my visiting teaching and hope you have too! :)
We have about a week before I start reminding you to report your v.t. for this month of October...which is the first of the 3 month holiday at end of the 2016 year. Oh my gosh...can you believe it?
Another year has flown by.
If you have finished your v.t. please let me know.
If you haven't - you still have time!
Visit, phone call, text, email, card...any way to let our sisters know they are not forgotten.
Good Morning dear Sisters of Winter Garden/Ocoee!
It's been awhile since I've posted...my bad :( How was your 4th of July? It was a wonderful day! It's our Independence Day! and I love the movie with Will Smith!! :)
So I waited till after the 4th to remind you that I need your June VT report. In Sylvia Allred's talk Feed My Sheep she reminds us to consider the principle taught in John 21:15-17. The Lord asked Peter, "Lovest thou me...?" Peter answered, "Thou knows that I love thee." And the Lord replied, "Feed my lambs." The Lord asked him the second time, "Lovest thou me?" Peter again answered, "Yea, Lord; thou knows that I love thee." The Lord said to Peter, "Feed my sheep." The Lord asked a third time, "Lovest thou me?" Peter answered, "Lord, thou knows all things: thou knows that I love thee." Jesus said unto him, "Feed my sheep."
As disciples of Christ, we too declare that we love Him. So how do we go about feeding His sheep? One of the ways Relief Society sisters can feed His sheep is through visiting teaching. What are the Purposes of visiting teaching?
To build caring relationship;s with each sister and to offer support, comfort, and friendship.
To accomplish those purposes, visiting teachers should:
1. Visit each assigned sister regularly
2. Learn of the spiritual and temporal needs of the sister and her family.
3. Offer appropriate assistance.
4. Give spiritual instruction through a monthly message.
How do we do this if we can't physically see our sisters?
1. the optimum is to visit in the home
2. phone call
It has never been easier to keep in contact with our sisters.
I will be in contact with you all to get your report. Thank you for all that you do.
love, gayle vt coordinator
Good Morning WG sisters!
We are nearing the end of May. I wanted to share a few words from Sis Neill Marriott second counselor in the YW General Presidency of the April 2016 General Conference.
We build the kingdom when we nurture others. We also build the kingdom when we speak up and testify of truth.
Elder Orson F Whitney wrote:
All that we suffer and all that we endure, especially when we endure it patiently...purifies our hearts...and makes us more tender and charitable...and it is through...toil and tribulation, that we gain the education...which will make us more like our Father and Mother in heaven.
Our high responsibility is to become women who follow the Savior, nurture with inspiration and live the truth fearlessly. As we ask Father in Heaven to make us builders of His kingdom, His power will flow into us and we will know how to nurture, ultimately becoming like our heavenly patents.
Sisters, this reminds me of who I am and who I want to be. We nurture each other as well as our families.
We nurture each other as we visit teach one another.
I hope this finds you all well. It's fairly early in the month so I am hoping you have started your visiting teaching.
I sent out everyone's lists of sisters you visit either by email or text.
I'm still out west. In fact at this moment I am sitting in a parking lot in Meridian Idaho as Jenna feeds Boston the 2 month old. We are looking for an apartment for her, Husband Kory and baby Boston. Definitely an adventure!!
Love to all!
How is your month going along? Have you started your visiting teaching yet? This month is almost gone. This is a reminder if you haven't started and also to let me know when you are finished.
I've already received a couple of vt reports. Have a great rest of April!!
Your sister in Zion,
Hello good Sisters!
It's the 15th of April. We are halfway through April already.
Wasn't conference wonderful? I wanted to share a little of Sis Marriotts talk that I took notes of from Women's conference.
1. What shall we do? Need spirit directed women.
2. Need to build up ourselves before we build others.
3. Bedrock of faith.
4. Need a nurturing heart.
5. Anchor to a spiritually safe place.
6. To mother means to nurture.
7. Trial and tribulation help us be more like Father and
Mother in heaven.
8. Act immediately on personal revelation.
9. Pray to know how to handle opposition.
10.Become women who follow the Savior.
Sisters, we are more like the Savior when we faithfully do our callings, when we faithfully do our visiting teaching. In This day and age visiting teaching has never been so accessible.
We can visit, call, text, email, post a letter, card. To let our sisters know that they are cared for and thought of.
Then please let me know when you have done your vt.
I need to know your results by the 2nd Sunday of the month. The results are given to Bro. Gunnels who sends it on to the Stake.
Please let me know when you have done your vt. Otherwise you will be hearing from me via phone, text, or email.
Love you all!
Good Morning Sisters!
This morning in Idaho is a little rainy. It's definitely springtime. As others run around in flip flops and no coats, I am in full winter gear. Thank you Florida!
It's a new month for visiting teaching.
Start now to visit or text, email, letter, card etc to your sisters you have stewardship over.
I found out I need the vt report in by the 2nd Sunday so please let me know before then. I can't fulfill my calling without you fulfilling yours. A joint effort! 😊
Thank you for all you do!
Good morning Sisters!
A reminder that it's time to report your visiting teaching for March. If you have called, sent letter or card, visited, emailed, or texted please let me know.
Thanks to those who have reported so far,
Hello Dear Sisters!
I'm still in Pocatello ID. My grandson is healthy and handsome. Can't ask for more than that😊. I will be here awhile longer until Bostons baby blessing....we have had snow here and it's been cold.
I really enjoyed women's conference. It went by so quickly! I would like to share a couple things with you.
Love one another as I have loved you
We are the Lords Hands upon the earth
We are in the service of our God
Who can I help today?
This was from Sis Esplin. There is a definite theme isn't there? We can apply this to our visiting teaching as well as other things.
March is about done. In a couple of days it will be time to report your visiting teaching. You can text, email, or call me. Three simple choices.
I hope you are all doing well, enjoy General Conference, and have a Happy Easter!! 💖
Your Sister in Zion,
As I write to you I am in Pocatello ID. I was able to be in birthing area of the hospital with son in law Kory, daughter nurse Jennifer , and soon to be mother Jenna waiting for Boston to be born via Csection. A beautiful experience with lots of pictures!
Even though I'm a couple thousand miles away I can still do my calling. As a reminder March is almost gone. I hope you all have your visiting teaching done. If not you have a few more days.
Please let me know via text, phone, email, or letter. I wish you all a Happy Easter !!
Your Sister in Zion,
Good Morning Sisters!!!
I really enjoyed the talks given yesterday in church. I always love listening to our temple president and matron. I can't forget the Elders in our ward. All 5 of them!
Today is the last day for Feb. visiting teaching and tomorrow begins the new month of March. Wait....holy cow it's my anniversary tomorrow!! It comes faster every year.
Anyway, tomorrow I'll start texting for visiting teaching reports.
Also, keep the April 7 2016 date open...just for the RS sisters.
More info to come.
Have a great day!!
love, your Sister in Zion,
Hi Relief Society Sisters!
There are several of you that have not reported to me your visiting teaching for month of January. Please do so.
Also, I hope things are going well with your February VT. Why? to develop friendships, give service, help out when needed and to strengthen faith/sisterhood.
Remember, We are His Hands as we Feed His Sheep.
Love to you all!
Hello Sisters! and good brrr morning!
FYI - Most of you have received updated Visiting Teaching list. Some will be the same, others will have changes.
About 25 of you will receive the list in the mail. I will mail them today. Any questions, new information, call, text, or email me.
So how about those Super Bowl Commercials?......
love to all!
Hello Sisters in Zion of Winter Garden Ward!
It's almost the end of January - can you believe that? The older I get the faster the time flies by. Shouldn't it be the other way around? The older I get the slower time is?? hmmmmm
January is almost gone - that means we have 9 more days to finish visiting teaching our sisters we are in charge of. If you find they have moved, or going to move outside our ward, please contact me.
Remember that visiting your Sisters' is the optimum but if you can't there is phone calling, sending a message/card, texting, emailing.
Something so they know that they are being thought of.
We are His Hands as we Feed His Sheep.
Your sister in zion,
To all Sisters of the Winter Garden Ward,
Happy Happy New Year!!
I hope you all had a great New Years Eve and the beginning of the year 2016.
So do you make yearly New Years Resolutions? If So what kind of New Years Resolution have you made? Do you have a long or short list?
For me, I've learned that short lists are better for me. I'm better at concentrating on 1 or 2 items for shorter periods of time works for me - instead of a long list that encompasses an entire year.
I am concentrating on doing a better job on my visiting teaching.
If I can't do visits, then I will phone call. Or text. Or send a message or a card with a message to let my sisters know that I am thinking of them.
I will do better this year. (Do you see how I will be positive? :)
How about you?
Thanks for what you do! I couldn't fulfill my calling without you fulfilling yours.
Love to all!
Good Morning Sisters of Winter Garden Ward!
and Happy Birthday to the Prophet Joseph Smith :)
Todays scripture is from D&C 135:3
Joseph Smith, the Prophet and Seer of the Lord, has done more, save Jesus only, for the salvation of men in this world, than any other man that ever lived in it.
In the short space of twenty years, he has brought forth the Book of Mormon, which he translated by the gift and power of God, and has been the means of publishing it on two continents: has send the funs of the everlasting gospel, which it contained, to the four quarters of the earth; has brought forth the revelations and commandments which compose this book of Doctrine and Covenants, and many other wise documents and instructions for the benefit of the children of men; gathered many thousands of the Latter-day Saints, founded a great city, and left a fame and name that cannot be slain. He lived great, and he died great in the eyes of God and his people; and like most of the Lord's anointed in ancient times, has sealed is mission and his works with his own blood; and so has his brother Hyrum. In life they were not divided, and in death they were not separated!
This is a marvelous statement. It reminded me of how much the Prophet Joseph Smith did in his short lifetime here on earth. The statement that he has done more, save Jesus only, for my, our, salvation save our Lord Jesus Christ....humbles me with gratitude and love.
Your Sister in Zion,
Goooood Morning Winter Garden Sisters!
Can you believe that Christmas is next week? It seems like once Halloween is here the pace picks up and bam it's a new year.

your sister in Zion :)
So there was something I wanted to share but kept getting distracted by reading interesting articles on FB. :) So I will try again. Here goes.
Good morning Sisters!!
How was your weekend? With Christmas coming I'm sure it was action packed! Plus there's Christmas parties, shopping, more parties, more shopping, etc etc.
In case you haven't done your visiting teaching yet...ahem did you see how I snuck (is that a real word?) that in there?...
here is the December message.
Divine Attributes of Jesus Christ: At the end of the article it says -
" Who could be blessed by your compassion? "
Prayer and knowing your sisters that you have stewardship over will help you to know.
Enjoy your holiday! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
(your Sister in Zion)
I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. A wonderful holiday of giving thanks for what we have - and eating a scrumptious meal :) Tomorrow, Nov 30 is the last day of November so please remember to text, phone call, email, mail your
vt message for the month - which is whatever general conference talk you are inspired to share.
Then call, text, email me your stats. Then on to December!!
love to you all,
[11/26/15] Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!
Hello Sisters in Zion!
It's November and Thanksgiving is around the corner. I have so much to be thankful for and in my prayers I let the Lord know that.
We are about in the middle of the month so here is the reminder to do your visiting teaching. A visit, phone call, text, card all count.
We didn't do very well last month so let's try again this month! :)
I am thankful for you and your efforts....
love, Your Sister in Zion
Hello my Sisters!
October is done. November is here! Tis the holiday months! For some these months are the hardest. How do we minister?
💝Pray daily for her and her family.
💖Seek inspiration to know her and her family.
💝Visit her regularly to learn how she is doing and to comfort and strengthen her.
💖Stay in frequent contact through visits phone calls, letters, email, texting, and simple acts of kindness.
💝Greet her at Church meetings.
💖Help her when she has an emergency, illness, or other urgent need.
💝Teach her the gospel from the scriptures and visiting teaching messages.
💖Inspire her by being a good example.
Goal for November? Contact all your sisters!!
We Can DO this!!! 😇
Your Sister in Zion,
Please remember to contact me regarding your visiting teaching. I've only heard from about 3 of you all. Tomorrow is the end of the month. Can you believe it's Halloween already? Then Thanksgiving and - gulp - Christmas! It's the holiday months!
Your Sister in Zion,
Yes, I'm back. :) I am the VT Coordinator. I want to do my calling to the best of my ability. To make that happen I need each one of your help. :))
So to start off with a bang I am looking for a sister who can give Sister Marlene Gordon a ride to church on Sunday.
She came a few weeks back but doesn't have rides to church.
Her address is 1353 West Pointe Villas, Winter Garden.
She is from Trinidad and was baptized 17 years ago in Queens NY area. The missionaries visited her and she said she wanted to come back. Yay!! If you can bring her to church please contact me and I will give you her number. Please let me know tonight or Saturday.
Wasn't Conference wonderful? I can't pick just one talk that was my favorite. But I did have the feeling that we need to take care of each other - be His hands - do what we can do for those we have stewardship over. Whether it be visits, phone calls, cards, messages.... We Are His Hands.
Thank you Sisters, in advance.
Love to you as Sisters in Zion -
Hi Sweet Sisters!
What a wonderful Sabbath meeting we had today. The talks were outstanding and the Primary children singing was a highlight.
Then there was the awesome RS/Visiting/snacking that went on the third hour. A very enjoyable Sabbath.
Thanks to you for being so willing to help me with my RS calling. I have enjoyed being with you and getting to know you. I will miss you and your comments during the lessons.
I will miss you in the third hour but will still be with you in spirit.
I'm off on a new adventure in YW!
Love to you,
