A Bible Teaching and Music Ministry delivering God's message through Word and song.

APPOINTED LIFE MINISTRIES strive to glorify Jesus in honesty and integrity. A prayer ministry that seeks healing and comfort for those who are in need and/or council. Going back to the original languages, this ministry teaches basic application and the tools needed for accurate bible study. Studying to show ourselves approved, we are an open ministry allowing questions and comments on the word of God for accurate understanding of the verses and the context they are used in the Word of God. Each book is taught thoroughly from beginning to end and no book of the Bible is ever excluded from teaching. A NO-Denomination based Ministry that currently teaches members of the Body of Christ from different denominations, and allowing Truth to be taught through the power of The Holy Spirit without traditionalism, ceremonialism or division which has caused divisions in the Lord's many membered body. We do not take up an offering but do accept donations for missions, local contributions to the cancer center and other outreach ministry's reaching the community in the Permian Basin. Our goal is to do God's Will in this Ministry. 23 PSALMS is a ministry dedicated to witnessing The Word of God through music and song. Witnessing through music in local churches we are blessed to praise and worship with other believers and do not charge to play special event's. Donations are welcome.

Mission: To teach the Milk and Meat of God's Word and to serve The Body Of Christ through Song and Music

[09/30/18]   This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it!

Ten of the Top Scientific Facts in the Bible

If it's true that the Bible contains scientific facts that were written thousands of years before man discovered them, the implications are staggering. These...

[01/20/17]   I've gotten side tracked again as Pastor Ann & I have been doing research to answer questions that came up last Sunday in Bible study. We met last night to compare our studies and were filled with awe as we came up with an evening of revelation. No matter how much you read & study the Scriptures, there is always new understanding if you just keep your heart and mind open to God's voice - the Bible.
I will try to get back to the study of the heart next week.

[01/16/17]   Pondering this subject, my mind wandered to the idea of 'having a conscience'! Very few people are born with no conscience. I believe they are referred to as psychopaths. Now I have no idea why God would bring such people into the world but I do know - God never makes mistakes. So, these psychopathic people are here for a reason. I just don't know what that reason is. If anyone has thoughts on this, I would appreciate hearing them.

[01/15/17]   If you are reading the N.T. with me - chronologically, here are days 15-21:
Day 15 - Matthew 5
Day 16 - Matthew 6
Day 17 - Matthew 7,8:1-13
Day 18 - Luke 7
Day 19 - Matthew 11,12:22-50
Day 20 - Matthew 13
Day 21 - Luke 8

[01/14/17]   "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy pride, foolishness; ALL these evil things come from within, and defile the man." Mark 7:21-23

[01/13/17]   Doctrine of the Heart:
"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Proverbs 4:23
The word 'heart' is used over 900 times in the Bible. And when in use this word, heart, can have several different meanings. And interestingly enough, there was no Hebrew word for 'mind'! So apparently Hebrew people thought their heart was where all of life's thoughts, actions, movements, etc. came from. There's a saying, "capture the mind and you capture the man". This saying is even in my study Bible commentary although not exactly in the same words.

[01/11/17]   "I the Lord search the heart, I try (test) the reins (mind), even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings." Jeremiah 17:10

[01/10/17]   "And Jesus answered him saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God." Luke 4:4

"And He humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that He might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live." Deuteronomy 8:3,

[01/09/17]   "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." John 17:17
'Sanctify' means to 'set apart for God's use'.
There are no mistakes in the Bible! The words in the Bible are as they were 2,000 years ago. The words mean, in English, what they originally meant in Hebrew, Greek or Aramaic. We have 'faith' of this because these words/messages are from God himself.

"Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgements endureth for ever." Psalm 119:160

[01/08/17]   If you are reading the N.T. with me in order of happening, here is day 8-14. Days 1-7 on 1/1/17: Day 8 - Luke 3, Matthew 4
Day 9 - Luke 4,5
Day 10 - John 1:39-51
Day 11 - John 2,3,4
Day 12 - Mark 2, John 5
Day 13 - Matthew 12:1-21, Mark 3
Day 14 - Luke 6

[01/07/17]   These words (the Bible) are meant for us too!

"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." 2 Peter 1:20,21

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" 2 Timothy 3:16

Jesus said, "...all things are possible to them that believeth." Mark 9:23

[01/06/17]   For unknown reasons, sometimes fb won't let me post here. That's why some of the following messages are not in proper order.

[01/06/17]   As a Christian (a follower of Christ) I just believe, without a doubt, that God's message to us (the Bible) still, after 2,000 + or - a few years, means exactly what He meant for us to know! If for any reason you have doubts, I seriously don't think I can change your mind! Although I do pray that my passion for studying God's Word might rub off on you. With that said, let me take you to some scriptures that tell us they are alive and well, meaningful to us today.

When teaching in the temple, Jesus said, "My doctrine is not mine, but His that sent me. If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." John 7:16,17

[01/06/17]   Read the New Testament with me in chronological order!
Day 1: Luke 1
Day 2: John 1:1-28
Day 3: Matthew 1
Day 4: Luke 2:1-38
Day 5: Matthew 2
Day 6: Luke 2:39-52
Day 7: Matthew 3 & Mark 1

[01/06/17]   Paul explains to Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:11-16: V11 "These things command and teach." V12 "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity (love), in spirit, in faith, in purity." V13 "Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine." V14 "Neglect not the gift that is in thee by prophecy, with laying on of the hands of the presbytery." V15 "Meditate upon these; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all." V16 "Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee."

[01/06/17]   "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope if His calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe,..." Ephesians 1:17,18,19

Believers will be shown His desires for us and how to receive them.

[01/06/17]   7) "But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8) Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9) But it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.
10) But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11) For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12) Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13) Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14) But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." 1 Corinthians 2:7-14

God desires to speak with us thru the Spirit!

Are you a spiritual man (person) or a natural person? Do you need more information on being a spiritual person?

[01/06/17]   Some folks are not willing or able to attend a regular Bible study for various reasons. Have you ever thought about studying the Bible over the phone? While my broken neck was healing, there were times I just was not up to going any place. Pastor Ann & I began studying over the phone! Last night, due to the cold, we spent an hour and a half on the phone studying John 17! Yes - 1 1/2 hrs! Point being, this morning it dawned on me - any one who is unable to get out CAN Bible study with a friend over the phone! Think about it! If you might be interested, let me know in the comments.

[01/01/17]   Welcome the New Year with love in your heart for all humanity; praise on your lips for a loving and forgiving God; and a strong desire to grow closer to the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! He pours out more blessings than we deserve.

[01/01/17]   Recently someone said to me, "The Bible was written in a different language and has been copied and recopied so many times, how do you know if it still says what it originally said?"

My answer: FAITH

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1

"Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." Hebrews 11:3

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." Hebrews 11:6

[01/01/17]   Read the New Testament with me in chronological order!
Day 1: Luke 1
Day 2: John 1:1-28
Day 3: Matthew 1
Day 4: Luke 2:1-38
Day 5: Matthew 2
Day 6: Luke 2:39-52
Day 7: Matthew 3 & Mark 1

[12/13/16]   #10 the Kingdom Parables from Matthew 13:

There are 6 more 'Kingdom Parables. They are:

V24-30 The parable of the wheat and tares.

V31,32 The parable of the mustard seed.

V33 The parable of the leaven.

V44 The parable of the hidden treasure.

V45,46 The parable of the pearl.

V47-50 The parable of the net.

I pray that you will open your Bible and read these verses with an open heart and allow God to put His messages to good use in your life.

[12/11/16]   The Kingdom Parables #9: Commentary:

V3,18 The sower is one who teaches God's Word.

V4,19 The seed is God's Word; the wayside was ground ( hearts and minds) that would not accept the seed; the fowls (the wicked ones) allowed no response to the Word.

V5,6,20,21 This represents those who hear God's Word and become excited over it; they become somewhat dedicated - briefly; and soon they drift away - back to their worldly ways that don't include the Lord.

V7,22 These hear the Word but never fully accept it.

V8,23. True, dedicated, God loving Christians.

WHICH ONE ARE YOU?!

[12/10/16]   The Kingdom Parables #8 Jesus' explanation:
V18 "Hear ye therefore the kingdom of the sower."
V19 "When any one heareth the Word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the wayside."
V20 "But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon (immediately) with joy receiveth it,"
V21 "Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth (only endures) for a while: for when tribulation o persecution ariseth because of the Word, by and by he is offended."
V22 "He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the Word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the Word, and he be cometh unfruitful."
V23 "But he that receiveth seed into the good ground is he that heareth the Word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some a hundred fold, some sixty some thirty."

[12/08/16]   #7 the kingdom parables
Matthew 13:1-9

V1 "The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side."
V2 "And great multitudes were gathered together unto Him, so that He went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore."
V3 "And He spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow."
V4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the wayside, and fowls came and devoured them up:"
V5 "Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth."
V6 "And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away."
V7 "And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:"
V8 "But other fell on good ground, and brought forth good fr

uit, some a hundredfold, some sixtyfold, and some thirty fold."
V9 "Who hath ears to hear, let him hear."

[12/07/16]   KP #6. In chapter 13, in the book of Matthew, there are 7 parables. These 7 parables are called "The Kingdom Parables" because they pretty much describe Jesus' earthly kingdom - the church age.

Jesus explained to the Pharisees who ask Him 'when' the kingdom of God would come: "The kingdom of God comes not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. (among you) Luke 17:20,21

[12/06/16]   The kingdom Parables #5:

It is SO important that Christians (those of us who follow Christ's teachings) understand that we are priveledged to understand the 'mystery' of the Kingdom of God; I want to give you another scripture for comprehending this.

Mark 4:11 "...Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, (possibly referring to unbelievers) all these things are done (taught) in parables."

Keep in mind, the N.T. books were written during the 1st century A.D. Until then, the only scriptures were those of the O.T. The O.T. prophecies repeatedly (I have a list if you want one.) that the 'Messiah' would come and begin His reign in a 'new kingdom'. People were expecting a physical overtaking of the then rulers. Jesus did no such thing at that time. And until He does come, His 2nd coming, His kingdom lives and thrives in the hearts of those who follow His teachings. We, as Christians, ARE His earthly kingdom. And those who do not follow His teachings are not meant to understand how this kingdom on earth works. Again, read Matthew 13:11.

[12/03/16]   I need all the prayer warriors to pray with conviction for my cousin - Jacki. Yes, we pray for God's will to be done and that He will hold her in His loving arms while He heals her!

[12/02/16]   There will always be things that trip us up, people that will come against us, society that will try to override us, government that will not always hear us, family that will ignore us, friends that will walk away from us, technology that is intended to dumb us down and evil that will try to do us in, but The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit work together to protect us. So put on the Full Armor of God and walk forward through adversity, wielding the Sheild of Faith and the Sword of Truth. WE ARE SOLDIERS OF GOD!
