We know it’s a soggy morning, but we are looking forward to gathering for worship at 9 or 11. We’re continuing to explore the theme of discernment with a message on how sheep know their shepherd’s voice. Hope to see you there! ☔️

It’s a quiet Wednesday around here, but most certainly not a dull one. Happy Birthday to Evie, our operations coordinator! So many behind-the-scenes things happen at the church thanks to her careful attention. (Including keeping our fire extinguishers in good order.)

As we discern God’s will for our everyday lives, we must seek to ground ourselves in our primary calling to love God and love others. Asking ourselves questions like these can help us cut through anxiety and fear: What does love call for in this situation? What would love do? What does love require? Be sure to catch Pastor Steve’s message from worship this past Sunday to more deeply explore the interplay between discernment and love. Link in profile: https://bit.ly/3gLbbv4

This Sunday we celebrated sweet Lila’s baptism into the family of faith. She is the 5th generation to wear this baptismal gown, a visible reminder of the rich legacy of familial faith so many of us have inherited. Truth be told, regardless of the legacy of our earthly families, being adopted into the family of God means each of us have deep roots in a vibrant lineage of faith. Our prayer as a community is that those roots would flourish, leading to new lives transformed and grafted into the eternal family of God.

Prayers with Pastor Pogo the Tree Frog 🐸 We are so thankful to have pastors who are willing to be silly and hop across the stage, sharing the Good News of God’s great love with the littlest members of our church family in a way they can understand.

COMBINED SERVICE TODAY - 10am | Happy Memorial Day! In a special ceremony at Manor Park, the DAR honored FPC Covenant Partner Harry Spannaus. In his 21 year career, Colonel Harry Spannaus logged 14,000 flying hours and 239 combat missions during the Vietnam and Korean wars. Colonel Spannaus is Midland’s most decorated Veteran. He especially loved flying the F106, which flies at almost 1,800 miles per hour, making him Midland’s very own Top Gun. Today we thank Colonel Spannaus and all those who served our country in the military, and we especially want to take time to remember all those who never came home.
