Kelview Sunday Service Update
March 20, 2020
Dear church family,
I want all of you to know that you are in my prayers. I also ask that you continue to pray for me, our staff, deacons and missionaries. God has called me to lead His church spiritually and also to protect the flock. As you have heard me say many times while preaching that I will stand before the Lord with the things I teach and preach but also with the decisions I make concerning the church. I always try and seek godly counsel in those decisions.
So I want to share with you that I am very GRIEVED at this time. I realize that God is in control, so I am not in fear of any circumstance. As I stated I believe I am called to protect the flock, so with much prayer and godly counsel I have decided to move our services this weekend to online streaming. In coming to this decision I began to look at some of my past decisions. When we had an ice storm, I postponed church because I wanted to protect the flock from danger of trying to get to church while driving on the ice. I feel that this situation we are in is very similar. I am moving our services to protect our flock.
What will Sunday look like? At 10:30 Sunday morning you can go to our website or to our page and stream the service. It will be approximately one hour long with singing, prayer, scripture and a message.
In preparation for this Sunday I encourage you to do a few things:
1. Sit down and participate in the live stream. If you have a family, have your whole family sit and participate in the stream together. This will include singing, praying etc.
2. Recognize the great privilege we have to meet together on a given Sunday. As you sit in your home, I pray that you will long to be with your church family worshipping together and that when we reconvene we will have a fresh desire to worship and fellowship together.
3. Be prepared – have your bibles ready and something to take notes on.
4. Put away all distractions just as you would if we were meeting together. Satan will try and use any distraction he can to distract you from hearing from the Lord.
5. We will have a time of prayer, so designate someone in your family to lead in prayer when you are directed.
6. Begin today to pray for Sunday. Our God can use this stream to bring honor and glory to Himself.
7. Encourage someone you know to watch the live stream. Many times we have a difficult time inviting people to church, but this is a great opportunity because they are probably sitting in their home with cabin fever. Be an instrument of His grace in someone’s life.
If you are unable to watch the live stream, or if you encounter a problem with the live stream, it should be available for viewing within 24 hours at kelview.com.
Finally, I will miss seeing each of you here but pray you will participate in our service this Sunday. If you normally bring your tithes and offerings with you on Sundays you can mail them to the church or drop them off at the church office this next week.
I will keep you posted with decisions that are being made and many times I will be waiting as long as I can because everything is changing so quickly.
Pastor Jeff Franklin
Midweek Update - March 17, 2020
Dear church family,
As I am sure you are aware things are changing at a rapid pace. With all of these changes I, the staff and the chairman of the Deacon board have decided to postpone all activities through Saturday. As for Sunday, we will make that decision later in the week and you will be notified as soon as that decision is made.
I want to share some thoughts with you about this time. Scripture says “to redeem the time” Eph. 5:16 and I think this can apply today. For families you have been given two weeks of no school. Almost everything around us has shut down. I want you to focus on UNITY, I have been preaching on unity the past few weeks. I want you to focus on building a stronger unity in your home during these next few weeks of down time that the Lord has given us. I would like for you to focus on three areas:
1. Building spiritual unity. I want you to spend time together in God’s word, pray together and focus on building each other up spiritually.
2. Build emotional unity. I want you to spend time together, put phones and electronic devices away for a specified time and play a game together. Do something fun with your family together.
3. Build physical unity. Take time to play together or take a walk together to get some exercise. Plan and cook a meal together. Sit and eat as a family.
If you are single take this time to grow spiritually and maybe look for ways to encourage someone else. I believe if we all do these things we can “Redeem the time”.
I am so thankful for each and every one of you and I am praying for you during this time. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me.
Pastor Jeff Franklin

March 13, 2020
Dear Kelview Family,
We want to let you know what we are doing at Kelview concerning the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. While at this time, there are no reported cases in our city or region, the virus is present in our state, and the situation is evolving. At this time, Kelview will remain open and we will continue to have services throughout the week. We are monitoring the situation, and will let you know if things change. The health of our church family and our community is important and we are taking the following extra precautions.
What we already do on a weekly basis:
•Clean beds, play areas, and toys in nursery and children’s areas after Sunday and midweek services.
•We have a great facility maintenance team that cleans the building thoroughly every week.
Extra steps we are taking:
•We will be regularly sanitizing frequently touched surfaces before, during and after services, including doors, handles, tables, countertops, and check-in stations.
•Our staff and volunteers will wash their hands frequently and thoroughly, and will stay home when they are sick.
•Our greeters will, as always, be there to open doors for everyone entering the building, but for now will greet you with a wave and a smile instead of a handshake and a bulletin. Bulletins will be available in the lobbies for you to pick up.
•Where possible, we will leave interior doors open to reduce points of contact.
•We are working to provide additional hand sanitizer stations throughout the building; as many of you have discovered these products are in short supply. Until we can obtain more, the first priority will be to keep these at children’s check-in stations.
•During our worship service we will not shake hands as normal but will greet one another with a nod and encouraging word.
How you can help:
•If you or a family member are experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, please stay home.
•Wash your hands regularly, with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after sneezing, coughing or blowing your nose and going to the bathroom.
•Parents – make sure young children wash their hands often.
•Cover your sneeze or cough with the inside of your elbow.
•We ask that you substitute hand shaking and hugs with a wave and a smile.
Starting next Sunday we will have a live stream of the service available online for those who are sick or feel compelled to stay home for health reasons. Information will be available at kelview.com.
Many people in our world, in our workplaces, and schools and our community are anxious, frustrated or even callous in the uncertainty of this outbreak. Still, we know that God is on His throne, we are confident of God’s constant presence and careful attention to all that is happening.
We should be prudent, but we should not worry. It takes no more time to pray than it takes to worry. Please pray for those who are affected by this illness, for their caregivers, and those who are working around the clock to minimize the impact of this virus.
In 2 Timothy 1:7, the Bible says that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Let’s use this opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus through our prayers and our care for others.
