Fear Not - March 29, 2020

What are you listening to for your praise and worship time before the sermon this morning?

[03/29/20]   Everything is ready for us to have church together tomorrow while we are apart. Just like last week, you will be able to join us two ways. We will have an audio available on our website or you can watch a video of the sermon on this page.

There will be no regular church services, Sunday School, Tuesday Bible Study nor Wednesday Bible Study at the church this week. We are monitoring the guidelines from the city as to when we can reassemble.

My Brother's Keeper

Join us for our first church service during this time of social separation.

[03/22/20]   Join us for church this morning. If you would like to have communion together, yet apart, please gather your communion cracker/bread and juice.

Getting ready to do church! The church website is overloaded, so far Facebook is going strong!

[03/21/20]   We are getting ready to go a remote church experience tomorrow. We would like everyone to have communion ready to take together - while apart - tomorrow. You are welcome to come by the Fellowship Hall this afternoon before 6:00 p.m. to pick up prepackaged communion or use what you have at home.

"A Memorial for All Time"
Who Is This Man
March 15, 2020
Luke 22:1-6

A memorial can be very impactful. The Vietnam War Memorial in Washington D.C. is one of those. Jesus created the most significant and important memorial. One that is greater than any man-made statue or wall. Communion. Join us as we take a look at the Jewish Passover meal that became communion.

Memory Verse: After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among you. For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” Luke 22:17-19

"Take the Second Chance"
March 8, 2020
Luke 22:1-6

Our days are filled with a constant stream of decisions - some can be life-changing and we can get decision-fatigue. Join us as we look at the five most common regrets and six people who might wish they could have a chance to change their decisions. The only one in today's message to have a second chance was Peter. Be like Peter - take the second chance!

Memory Verse - "Now the Festival of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus, for they were afraid of the people." Luke 22:1-2

Who Is This Man
"Why Does He Challenge My Comfort"
Luke 21:1-4
March 1, 2020

Have you noticed that Jesus talked a lot about money? One of the last times was to comment on the widow's offering in our passage. This week has been a hard week for many financially. Join us as we learn what Jesus says about our finances.

Memory Verse: "But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicket. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful." Luke 6:35-36

"He Knows the Future"
Who Is This Man?
February 23, 2020
Luke 21:1-4

We need to heed these warnings from 2000 years ago from Luke 21:

1. Don't trust in human institutions - they are destined to fall.
2. Don't be deceived by false prophets
3. Don't be intimidated by intense opposition
4. Don't be complacent as you see the world falling apart
5. Don't be trapped into worldly pleasures

Join us as we learn more about these warnings from Jesus.

Memory Verse: "Praise the Lord , all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord." Psalm 117:1-2

1 Kings 19:1-9

We have friends on different levels: intimate, more casual & mentoring. Mentoring relationships don't last - the student grows and the relationship moves to another level or the student moves on. Learn what God tell us from the story of Elijah and Elisha say about the mentoring /discipleship relationship.

"Friends in the Family"
January 5, 2020

Seek out friendship with those around us especially with those that don't know Jesus. Listen as we learn from Ruth that good friends:

- can be people that are different from you
- rejoice when good things happen to you
- respect the counsel and good advice given to them
- rejoice with those who
