Riverside House

Guiding offenders to become productive citizens. http://riversidehouse.org/

Founded in 1972, Riverside House is a non-profit, faith-based organization committed to guiding people convicted of crime into becoming productive citizens. Our dedicated, caring, and compassionate team members provide counseling, life skills training, and vocational and spiritual development services to individuals who have chosen crime and fallen prey to it. We assist individuals in breaking free from the cycles of self-abuse, and return them to their families and society to live positive, productive lives.

Our four programs are as follows: Comprehensive Residential Reentry Program, Non-residential Support, Spiritual Development and Community Partnerships

Mission: Our Mission: Riverside House exists to guide men and women convicted of crime into becoming productive citizens through a nondenominational, faith-based approach. Our Vision: The formerly incarcerated are good citizens and neighbors- productive, educated, with strong family and spiritual values, playing an equal role in contributing to a safe and vibrant community.

COVID-19 can't keep our team apart! πŸ™ For our general team meeting last week, we met on Zoom! It is important to us that our staff knows that we are always there for them and that they are aware of the new processes and safety measures that we are implementing. Thank you to our wonderful team for always being there and spreading joy to not only co-workers but to residents as well. πŸ’™

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." πŸ™ We understand it can be difficult to find your new journey given the current climate but God is always listening and is always there to lead you down the right path. What can you do to better yourself now that you have the time? Share your hopes, dreams, or goals down in the comment below πŸ’™

At Riverside House, we make sure to accept anyone who walks through our doors with open arms. Our clients have often hit rock bottom and are looking for someone to believe in them, give them guidance, and a second chance. In this testimony, find out how our clients love of God helped him separate from bad influences and lifestyle choices. https://bit.ly/2ylz9ct

"This ended up being an important part of being prepared to go out into society. I had no place to go if I were just let out on the street. I was not ready to be released from prison. This was an excellent transition for that." - Patrick

For over 30 years, our programs have guided thousands of ex-offenders like Patrick to become self-sufficient, positive and productive citizens and neighbors.
