Thank you for your message today!
Good Morning, Thank your Lord for today. Henry and Jan Bates
Thank you for the Revelation message
With the stay at home being lifted, how soon will it be before we start meeting in person again?
For those who like information: This paper will discuss the ways in which the one true God of the Bible has revealed Himself to mankind. This paper will argue that God has revealed Himself by general and specific means to humanity using biblical, theological and historical sources to support this claim. God has evidenced to all men of His existence through His creative works, recorded in the first chapter of Genesis. The Lord has provided, by His creative works, an apparatus for all men to know without question that they are not happenstance. God, through the prophet Moses, gives to mankind the account of this creative process in (Gen 1:1). David’s illustrious writings in the Psalter, specifically (Psalm 19:1), suggests he agrees with Moses in his, David’s, understanding of God’s revelation through the things that have been made. Though some would scoff at this notion, that God has revealed Himself in creation, the Apostle Paul in (Ro 1:18-20) points to the notion that all that is made clearly reveals God’s existence. Though these evidences are explained in Scriptural text it is important to understand that the biblical text is not the only evidence for God’s general revelation of Himself, that is God’s revealing through nature. Rather, it is the very existence of nature itself that suffices as the evidence for this general manner of revelation. However, Scripture does provide, in a more specific manner, God’s revealed character. This special type of revelation is also seen in the person and work of Jesus Christ. In regard to this more specific revelation, the Bible itself, in (2Tim3:16), avows that Scripture is truly the breath of God. The conviction that God has indeed revealed Himself and done so in a general and more specific manner is not just evidenced in the Bible but is also proclaimed by contemporary evangelical Protestant theology. In his book, Christian Theology, Millard Erikson defines general revelation as “God’s communication of himself to all persons at all times and in all places.” Though simple in form, this definition fully explicates the function of general revelation. That is, to function generally as an apparatus by which God evidences His imperceptible attributes so that they might be perceived by mankind and His presence known. In this statement by Erikson, he reveals that he agrees with both Psalm 19 and Romans 1 referenced in the preceding paragraph. Erikson describes special revelation as “God’s manifestation of himself to particular persons at definite times and places, enabling those persons to enter into a redemptive relationship with him.” By this Erikson shows that God’s end in special revelation is ultimately relational and that He seeks to bridge the gap that has been built by man’s sinful nature. God lives before and beyond humanities, temporal faculties with unknowable and unlimited power; knowing the limits contained within man’s brokenness God saw fit to especially present His character and grace to mankind by various particular means i.e. Jesus and Scripture. These ideologies are not just the view established by contemporary Christian theology but have been established historically in the Christian tradition. Though the early church fathers never synthesized nomenclature for the different types of revelation, as Erikson does, they certainly ascribed to these notions as the manner in which God reveals Himself. Largely they addressed the culture they were in and many of the church fathers wrote to contend against the heresies and illogical philosophies of the day. Speaking against the deification of natural elements and for the revelatory abilities of God, one church father under the pseudonym of Mathetes writes, “no man has either seen Him, or made Him known, but He has revealed Himself.” Through these words, Mathetes very succinctly informs his readers that the function of nature is not to deify every specific facet of nature with a false god, but it is an apparatus through which the one true God has made Himself known. Mathetes establishes that God is not a convention of man and does not exist in what was created; rather, He is the Creator. Mathetes then goes on to illustrate an understanding of a more specific revelation where he writes, “But after He revealed and laid open, through His beloved Son, the things which had been prepared from the beginning, He conferred every blessing all at once upon us, so that we should both share in His benefits, and see and be active [in His service].” Here Mathetes evidences comprehension of a more particular mode of revelation and sets precedence early in the church's history that Jesus’ tenure on earth was revelation from God to mankind of Himself and His will. That is, to fulfill His, God’s, promises and build a relational bridge so that He might unite us unto Himself through Christ Jesus. This paper has argued that God reveals Himself through general and specific means and has done so using biblical, theological, and historical sources.
I would like to thank my church family for all the prayers, phone calls , visits and cards I have received during my recent surgery. We had a few scary moments but everything was in Gods hands and he just wasn’t ready for me yet. I love and miss everyone of you and cannot wait to get back in church. I have been transferred to the Remington rehab facility in Richardson. I will be here for a scheduled 25 days but if I really work hard I could be out in two weeks. I hope to get a schedule of what my rehab times will be and will let you know. Visitors are welcome. Hope to see each and everyone of you very soon. Love to all, Linda Hatley

Evangelical Christian Baptist Church in Mesquite Texas. We Believe in and teach The Bible as written from Genesis Through Revelation.

Oates Drive Baptist Church is a group of “Followers of Christ” that come together in worship for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Oates Drive Baptist Church Core Values: The members of Oates Drive Baptist Church endeavor by GOD’s grace to be a body of believers who glorify GOD in both beliefs and conduct. Accordingly, we hold these core values as being essential to the fulfilling of our mission and purpose, both corporately and individually The Scriptures The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation. God There is one and only one living and true God. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. God the Father God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. God the Son Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ, He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His substitutionary death on the cross, He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. God the Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He exalts Christ. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service. Man Man is the special creation of God, in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. The sacredness of human personality is evident in that God created man in His own image, and in that Christ died for man; therefore every person of every race possesses dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love. Salvation Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. God’s Purpose of Grace Election is the gracious purpose of God, according to which He regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, and glorifies sinners. All true believers endure to the end. Those whom God has accepted in Christ, and sanctified by His Spirit will never fall away from the state of grace, but shall persevere to the end. The Church A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel, observing the two ordinances of Christ, governed by His laws, exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. Each congregation operates under the Lordship of Christ through democratic processes. In such a congregation, each member is responsible and accountable to Christ as Lord. Its scriptural officers are pastors and deacons. While both men and women are gifted for service in the church, the office of pastor is limited to men as qualified by Scripture. Baptism & the Lord’s Supper Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water. …It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Saviour, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming. Evangelism & Missions It is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ and every church of the Lord Jesus Christ to endeavor to make disciples of all nations… to seek constantly to win the lost to Christ by verbal witness undergirded by a Christian lifestyle, and by other methods in harmony with the gospel of Christ. The Lord’s Day The first day of the week is the Lord’s Day. It commemorates the resurrection of Christ from the dead and should be employed in exercises of worship and spiritual devotion. Last Things God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly the dead will be raised and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell. The righteous will receive their reward and will dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord. Education The cause of education in the Kingdom of Christ is co-ordinate with the causes of missions and general benevolence there should be a proper balance between academic freedom and academic responsibility. The freedom of a teacher in a Christian school, college, or seminary is limited by the pre-eminence of Jesus Christ, by the authoritative nature of the Scriptures, and by the distinct purpose for which the school exists. Stewardship God is the source of all blessings, temporal and spiritual; all that we have and are we owe to Him. Christians have a spiritual debtorship to the whole world, a holy trusteeship in the gospel, and a binding stewardship in their possessions. They are therefore under obligation to serve Him with their time, talents, and material possessions. Cooperation Christ’s people should organize such associations and conventions as may best secure cooperation for the great objects of the Kingdom of God. Such organizations have no authority over one another or over the churches. Cooperation is desirable between the various Christian denominations. The Christian & the Social Order All Christians are under obligation to seek to make the will of Christ supreme in our own lives and in human society in the spirit of Christ, Christians should oppose racism, every form of greed, selfishness, and vice, and all forms of sexual immorality, including adultery, homosexuality, and pornography. We should work to provide for the orphaned, the needy, the abused, the aged, the helpless, and the sick. We should speak on behalf of the unborn and contend for the sanctity of all human life from conception to natural death. Religious Liberty Church and state should be separate. The state owes to every church protection and full freedom in the pursuit of its spiritual ends. A free church in a free state is the Christian ideal. Family God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. It is composed of persons related to one another by marriage, blood or adoption. Marriage Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. The husband and wife are of equal worth before God; since both are created in God’s image. A husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church. He has the God-given responsibility to provide for, to protect, and to lead his family. A wife is to submit herself graciously to the servant leadership of her husband even as the church willingly submits to the headship of Christ. She, being in the image of God as is her husband and thus equal to him, has the God-given responsibility to respect her husband and to serve as his helper in managing the household and nurturing the next generation. Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Parents are to demonstrate to their children God’s pattern for marriage.

[05/31/20]   WHAT IS HAPPENING AND WHY?

By Pastor Jim Burt

Lawlessness is a defining characteristic of the antichrist and his agenda. God's Word clearly identifies satan and as lawless one (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12). Matthew 24:12 says because lawlessness abounds the hearts of men will grow cold. The breaking of God's laws and civil law is why we are where we are as a Nation.

The silence of many democratic leaders on the hill, the silence of civil rights groups like the ACLU not to condemn the acts of violence in our land speak loudly.

All sides rightly condemned the horrific murder of George Floyd. As Satan plants false teachers and evil in every walk of life and organizations, Satan can plant a bad cop as well. The officers involved in Floyd's death are not representative of the majority of the fine LEO across our Nation.

What happened to Floyd was inexcusable. The weekend before, 10 people killed in Chicago due to violence. But there was no outcry from protesters. That is because these protesters causing violence are Satan's puppets. Groups such as the ACLU, Antifa, and White Supremacists enjoy watching America burn.

But one day all who promote evil and lawlessness will stand before the King of Kings, the Lord Jesus Christ. Your mouths will be silenced and your heart will be filled with fear for the Lord, the Holy Lawmaker, will give each person according to their deeds (Revelation 20:12). Does not matter if you are Democratic or Republican, White, Black, Hispanic, Asian, God will have the final say.

Turn from this foolishness and give your life to Jesus Christ. Stop helping Satan, start serving Christ.
