Crossroads Mason

Comments

Hi! I’m participating in a Facebook book study put on by the author Jemar Tisby... was just curious if anyone local to the area was participating as well? Just thought it could be nice to have side conversations since the online group is so big.

Thanks for reading my post!
It was so great to be back in the building this morning for worship!
Thank you Crossroads Mason for a great evening activity with the high schoolers! They had a blast! You warned the parents it would be messy and that was not an understatement. But what fun is it to stay clean?!
Great to be a part od service again hearing the message and singing and seeing friends.
I despise facebook. I have NEVER been able to watch Tim Senff live. Either it loads the entire time or the screen is black. I can watch him after the fact, never live. Thank the good Lord I am not on here very often. It's just useless.
Good morning, my hubby lost his phone last night at 8:30 parking lot worship. GPS locators show it appears to have been picked up and is in building. How can he retrieve it?? Thank you! (DM me)
My prayers are for the perfect love that only comes from Jesus will spread throughout our nation and world...Jesus help your church show you to our world...by our love...they will know we are Christians by our love
Praying for healing and peace in your land .
God we ask you for healing for our nation and our community! We ask that you would stir up healing conversation and dialogue that lead to change! Allow us to boldly address the racial and political division. Cause us to challenge practices, language and structures that are oppressive. Allow us to do so in a manner that shows your love and takes into account the needs of others that may not look, think or believe like us. In your name we pray! Amen
Praying for breakthrough!!! Lord heal the Land!!! Mend the hearts of your people!!! End racism!! Bring us all together as one...... in Jesus Name Amen!!
God please help us though this most difficult time. We are being attacked from all sides .
God,

Please heal our land. Refresh Your law. YOUR PRESENCE.

i thank you for everything father!

AMEN

Whatever your thoughts on church, whatever your beliefs about God, you are welcome here. Crossroads is a place for people who have given up on church but not on God.

Service times - Saturday: 5:00pm and Sunday: 9:15 & 11:15am

"Our daughter Katherine was murdered in the fall of 2019, and the community of people that we met through Crossroads has made all the difference at this tragic time of our life.

We started attending Crossroads Oakley in 2011 and we were part of the West Side launch. Right after West Side opened, we got connected with a small group of couples that we’re still part of today. We’ve gone on trips together, quarantined together during Covid, and just have been active in one another’s lives and the lives of our families. So when this happened, they were right by our sides.

Katherine had been struggling for a while and we had been worrying about her. John was serving with the production team one weekend and during a meeting before service shared what was going on. That team of about 15 surrounded him and prayed for him and for our family. It provided a moment of love and calming and was a beautiful picture of how our community is here for each other. Grace’s Women in the Word group did the same – 12 women all laid hands on her and prayed, surrounding her with a hedge of protection and love."

“I became an ironworker 24 years ago, and early in my career I was working on the Kids’ Club addition at Crossroads Oakley. Everybody came out and was signing the beams. I didn’t know why they were doing it, but I decided to go up and sign my name along with a little blessing for my boss since it was a church. I had no idea what the meaning of it was.
I had grown up Catholic but turned away from my faith early on. One day two years ago I was in my office talking to one of the contractors who hires ironworkers and he told me about how he goes to Crossroads. I told him I had always wanted to go check it out but didn’t want to walk into church alone. He told me he would meet me there that weekend and I’ve been coming back ever since.
My son told me last year that for his 11th birthday he wanted to be baptized, and the final baptism service before the buildings closed for Covid fell exactly on his birthday. That just blew me away.
I’ve been volunteering on the experience team for a few months now, and when we were doing the 25th anniversary celebration and I heard Brian talk about signing the beams, I teared up. God knew 20 years ago that I was signing myself up for something that I didn’t even know about. I can’t say enough about what Crossroads has done for me over the past two years and how helpful it has been to have God back in my life as I deal with the stress of my job. It was pretty cool that I got to put the names of my family and a close friend on that beam this weekend and I hope that one day I get to tell them the story of their names being on the beams too.”

“On the morning of July 31, 2019, I left an abusive marriage in which we had both acted dishonorably. I was in a bad spot and making bad choices. At one point I had even received treatment because I was suicidal. That morning I heard a voice in my head that said, “Erica, you need to come to the light or you’re going to die. He’s going to kill you or you’re going to kill you.”

That was a Wednesday. That Sunday, I was driving with my 3- and 4-year-old kids when we passed Crossroads and I saw all of the cars turning in. I’m an esthetician and have had many clients, colleagues and friends over the years who were part of Crossroads and invited me, but it just never felt like the right time for me to check it out. For me that morning felt like a sign and a personal miracle.

I turned into the parking lot and we walked through the doors. I didn’t know where we were going physically in the building but I also felt like I was running scared and unsure emotionally. It was like the greeters at the door knew because they scooped up my kids and I, took us right to Kids’ Club check-in, and I headed to service. I sat up in the rafters of the top balcony at first. I was born and raised Catholic, so this was all new to me, but I was overcome with emotion during worship and then when the message started I was looking around wondering if someone had been following me. It was so relevant to where I was in my life at that moment.

I kept coming back every weekend and started inching closer to the stage. After a few weeks I was a regular in the front row. That’s when I met Deb and Eileen. They saw me come early every week to sit in the front and encouraged me to start serving. I started thinking, ‘Yeah, why not? Everything I’ve received has been so amazing. I was met exactly where I was, what if I am able to meet someone where they are and pull them out of a spiritual hole?’ Now, I look forward to serving on the First Impressions team every other week.

Since I have started coming to Crossroads so many things have changed. I haven’t had a sip of alcohol since I left that morning in July, a feat considering I had substance abuse issues in the past. I’ve lost about 75 pounds, and while I couldn’t have run a mile before the pandemic started, I’m running at least 4 miles a few times a week and one of my friends from my small group and I will run the Flying Pig Half Marathon together this year. When I started leaning in and becoming more spiritually fit, physical fitness just felt like it followed. I took the 90-Day Tithe Test during the Blessed Life series and it has been amazing. I’m going through FreedUp now. Every resource I’ve received from Crossroads has just been a win.
I’m also starting my own business. I’m taking what I’m passionate about and bringing God into it to make it my ministry. I love helping people feel as beautiful as they are and as beautiful as God thinks they are. I’m a little nervous about going out on my own, but I have peace about it because I know I’m putting God at the center of the next chapter of my life. I know things won’t be perfect or always go the way I expect, but it will be God’s will and I know I’m being forged in those moments.

I think often about that first welcome to Crossroads and if it had failed where I would be right now. I get emotional when I talk about the past 22 months because it has been a long road but a redemptive road and if I didn’t have Crossroads during this divorce process and moving away from my marriage or even during Covid, I don’t know where I’d be. I actually shudder to think about it because I know it wouldn’t be good. I know for a fact that I am physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally more fit than I’ve ever been in my life because I’ve had this community to lean into.”
