Trun this one up!!! Listen to the words!!!! My GOD bless you in every way. See you tomorrow 6 pm
People watch you surviving and wonder why you haven't lost your mind. Make sure you tell them....JESUS.
"Want to see a miracle? Take a seed the size of a freckle. Put it under several inches of dirt. Give it water...light...and get ready. A mountain will be moved. It doesn’t matter that the ground is a zillion times the weight of the seed. The seed will push it back.
"Every spring, dreamers around the world plant tiny hopes in the earth. And every spring, their hopes press against impossible odds and blossom.
"Never underestimate the power of a seed." ~~Max Lucado~~
GOD can do this with a seed. What is your mountain?
What is recovery? Recovery is picking up the phone when your mom calls. Recovery is getting up and going to work every day. Recovery is when you go back to college and pursue a degree. Recovery is when you go from almost being fired to getting promoted at work. Recovery is sticking your hand out for the next sick and suffering addict. Recovery is paying back your debts. Recovery is showing up for holidays. Recovery is a relationship with a power greater than yourself. Recovery is constantly pushing yourself to do better. Recovery is when you learn how to laugh again. Recovery is when you catch yourself driving down the highway singing at the top of your lungs. Recovery is building a relationship with someone in the world you would have otherwise never known. Recovery is picking your friend up at 2 A.M. because it’s the difference maker in their life. Recovery is finding out who you really are. Recovery is taking the time to learn how to love yourself one day at a time. Recovery is finding out what you want to do with your new life. Recovery is giving some addict’s mother hope when she doesn’t have any. Recovery is taking the resentments you have and looking at your role in them. Recovery is taking responsibility for your life. Recovery is what you make it.

Mindfulness 🧠

a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique.

We all struggle with mindfulness, ironically sometimes we forget to be mindful. Today’s challenge is to focus on how you can positively react to a negative behavior. It is very important to not become overwhelmed and forget about something that could negatively impact yourself or someone else. Be MINDFUL! 🧠

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. ~ Isaiah 43:18-19

Accountable: required or expected to justify actions or decisions; responsible.

Accountability: the fact or condition of being accountable; responsibility.

The devastating behaviors of our past in our addiction has made us to have to be accountable for our actions. Telling the truth, facing realities of us hurting someone/loved one, breaking bad habits, the list goes on and on. Admitting our fault and taking responsibility for our actions is being accountable.

Galatians 1:6 says, “Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.”

Accountability challenge: Today reach out to someone and ask them to be your accountability partner. This partner would be someone that would check in to see if you are making progression towards the goals you set for yourself. In return you will do the same for them. Pick scriptures and hold discussions on what they mean to you.

1. You can identify your emotions and what you’re feeling 🙏🏼 pray for God to reveal the feelings you may not know you are feeling🙏🏼
2. You can recognize your primary defensive coping mechanisms 🙏🏼pray for guidance🙏🏼
3. You can define your own beliefs without being influenced by others 🙏🏼pray for strength in your own beliefs🙏🏼
4. You can prioritize what gives you joy 🙏🏼pray for clearer thinking and time management 🙏🏼
5. You can identify your strengths and shortcomings 🙏🏼pray for open mindedness🙏🏼
6. You can know what you need in your relationships 🙏🏼pray for God to remove the unnecessary relationships in your life🙏🏼 God wants to have quality relationships‼️

Self-awareness involves being aware of different aspects of the self including traits, behaviors, and feelings.

Ephesians 4:22-24
To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Know who you are in Christ! I challenge you to look at yourself the way Jesus sees you! It just might change your perspective 🤔

Self-care encourages you to maintain a healthy relationship with yourself so that you can transmit the good feelings to others. You cannot give to others what you don't have yourself. While some may misconstrue self-care as selfish, it's far from that.

Think of it this way, we go to church to get filled up on God’s word so we can be a disciple to those around us because we love them and want to have all of God’s mercy and grace. Self-care is a way of loving ourselves so we can love others.
Matthew 22: 37-39 “And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

This upcoming Saturday, September 25th, Lee Liles Jr. will be sharing his message of hope. Lee grew up in the rural town of Hartville, Missouri. At the young age of 14 he started using drugs. Unlike many of his peers, at the age of 17, Lee found himself awaiting his first prison sentence. The more Lee used, the more reckless he became. With this came multiple incarcerations and rehabilitations were nothing but a revolving door. The cycle of insanity continued as Lee kept repeating the same mistakes. That is until one day when Lee says "Jesus took my addiction away in a jail cell and changed my life forever." Lee now does jail ministry and teaches One Step Recovery at the First Baptist Church in Mansfield, Missouri. Lee is living proof that God is a healer! He is excited to share with everyone all the amazing things God has done for him in his life, and how he continues to bless him. We invite you to join us for dinner and fellowship at 5:30 p.m. and worship and service will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Lee's life verses:
John 8:12 NIV
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life".

Luke 9:23 NIV
Then he said to them all: "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.

Matthew 17:20 NIV
He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

I saw my son today. He is only 22, but looks exhausted. Because he is. He has not showered in months. He has no home. He has already had part of one hand amputated because of an infection caused by IV drug use. He has nearly died and lost his arm because of the same thing. He is a walking bag of bones. I cried and asked him, "Do you know how hard it is for me, as a mother, to see you like this?" He looked up at me in the eye and said, "Do you know how hard it is for me to stand here in front of you like this?" Those words hit me hard today.

You may be struggling with any number of things. You may be hurting, ashamed, feel dirty, and afraid to go before your Father. You may feel like there is no use in asking for help or forgiveness. You may feel like you have lost a part of yourself and are damaged goods. You may have given up on all hope of a beautiful future or the good things He has planned for you. His love is fathomless and holds no comparison to human love. I can assure you, as a human mother with only human love.... go to JESUS. There is no doubt in my mind that HE will embrace you. HE loves you more now than HE ever could. You have not failed HIM too much. You have not gone too far. You may fall and rise, and fall and rise, and fall and rise. But, don't you ever think for one second that HE has lost patience with you or turned HIS face from you. Keep looking up. HE loves you deeply and will never stop loving you. HE only sees you through eyes of love. If there is one thing in this life I know for sure. It is that!

[07/23/21]   Due to the ongoing Covid surge we will have to make some changes until further notice. We will still be meeting on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m, however we will be having our meetings outdoors so that we may properly social distance ourselves. Also, at this time we will also not be providing meals but will have drinks and snacks. Please bring your own chairs if possible. If it is rainy weather we will make adjustments as necessary.
Please, if you do not feel well please do not put others at risk and stay home. You are welcome to wear a mask if you like. We would be happy to do phone meetings if you need to do so.
