We are a vital resource & partner for developing multi-ethnic leadership, ministries & values in the United Methodist Church's Northeastern Jurisdiction.
Since 1978 the MECM has engaged in helping to break down barriers of racism and build up bridges of progressive, cooperative ministry among racial-ethnic groups in the jurisdiction and beyond. We provide information, strategic counsel, ministry training, advocacy, organizing and networking support and other valued services. Our work relies on critical partnerships with United Methodist program age

From our friends and tenants the Billmans, who care for our parish house as the good stewards they are. Blessings!
It’s been so hard this year with COVID not being able to serve people weekly in our home, but we are continuing to work on the parsonage at Servants of Christ UMC here in Germantown. This is our daughter’s room that will soon be completely redone and finally nice and warm!
Visit http://www.mec4ministry.org/ to read the story on GCORR's grant to the Multi-Ethnic Center and its partners to develop the first Urban Institute in 2014--a critical, contextual education experience for seminary students wanting to learn urban ministry. With "boots on the ground," so to speak.
[10/02/13] The Multi-Ethnic Center for Ministry (MECM) of the UMC-NEJ is now on Facebook, eager to participate in this social media arena to share a hopeful message of God's love, creativity and grace manifested through principled multi-ethnic, multicultural ministry among the diverse people and places of the United Methodist Church. Please engage us with your ideas and experiences in this conversation.
