It’s the work that gets us on the scene, but it’s the people that make the ministry. The impact our teams make on those who are hurting is lasting, and the blessings we receive are immeasurable. I’m so thankful for the faithful and dedicated service of Kentucky Baptist Disaster relief volunteers. These moments illustrated in the photos make it all worth it.

Flood recovery is pulling out drywall, carpet, and cabinets. However, teams must also enter crawl spaces to set up foggers ridding mold from underneath homes as well.

Pray for endurance as current temperatures makes difficult, hard work.

Southern Baptists minister to Music City Center workers during annual meeting | Baptist Press

Disaster relief workers traditionally volunteer as childcare workers during the annual meeting, and this year the volunteers struck up a relationship with two MCC staff who were working security for the room and discovered they were engaged. After developing a relationship with them, the volunteers wanted to minister to them.

Southern Baptists minister to Music City Center workers during annual meeting | Baptist Press NASHVILLE (BP) – As Southern Baptists from across the country gathered for the annual meeting last week, many were intentional about sharing the love of Jesus with the staff at the Music City Center.

Bringing Help, Hope and Healing

"I am so grateful to our Kentucky Disaster Relief volunteers who are so eager and willing to respond to those who are suffering from disaster. This past week I visited some of our Kentucky Flood Recovery teams that responded to the recent flooding in Lake Charles. It was a long way to travel but Kentucky volunteers are so willing to go when the need arises. Distance does not matter. They understand there are people hurting and that we have the resources they need to help them clean up and recover."
