Thank you Pastor Paul Holloway for sharing your story. What a great reminder to focus on our relationships as men!!!
As a highly driven young man, I had a picture of what living the “American dream” looked like—perfect house, perfect truck, perfect wife and two perfect kids (boy and girl). I married my high school sweetheart and was well on my way to conquering that dream. Next came my perfect daughter, Lauren, and because of the training my father had passed on to me as a builder, I built us that house at the ripe old age of 21. Now all I needed to conquer was the truck and a son. The dream was almost a reality!
You see, men are designed to be conquerers by God. Unfortunately, our enemy is good at convincing us to take God’s gifts and pervert them to accomplish his goal—destroyed relationships. While I was working very hard to “provide” for my family, and while I even thought I was quite noble in my endeavors, what I was oblivious to was my misplaced priorities. Shortly after our perfect son Logan was born, I started seeing the fruit of my neglect as a husband and my “dream” was on the verge of becoming a nightmare. And I had no idea.
I still remember vividly the night I was driving home alone from a conference when God started to show me how I had neglected my family. It was in that car ride home that I rededicated myself to following Jesus and His principles for leading a family. I determined that having a Christ-led relationship with my family would be a priority. Ephesians tells men that we are to love our wife as Christ loved the church and gave Himself completely for it.
See, what my wife needed more than a perfect house was a husband to love her. What I needed was an understanding that conquering the next level of perfection wasn’t the American dream—it was a pipe dream.
So today, I am so thankful that I am married to my best friend, have five amazing kids, and a very neglected house! Remember that all of our relationships are extremely important to God, which is why our enemy spends so much of his time trying to divide us. Don’t let it happen!

God is so faithful, even in the hard times!!!
"I remember vividly the day that my husband called me on his way home and said, “Hey, we need to talk.” I could hear the stress in his voice, and it worried me. It was 2016 and two weeks from Christmas. We were about to go to our very first Freedom Conference. When my husband arrived home, he told me that he had been let go from his job of 7 years. The news was devastating. At the time, our son was still a foster baby, and my first thought was, "Are we going to lose our baby because we have no income?” So many things were running through my mind. I was drowning and felt so alone. I remember calling our pastor’s wife in tears and telling her that it was too much and I couldn’t handle it. How were we supposed to provide for our large family? Would Christmas happen? Would they make us give up our son? I told her that we didn’t want to go to the conference. She assured me that this was spiritual warfare and that we needed to go anyway, to be surrounded by our people and to remember God’s goodness. We reluctantly went, and God SHOWED UP. I remember the peace that flowed from that place as we sat and listened and were prayed over. God had a plan all along. While at the conference, we opened up to friends about what had happened. One of them happened to be looking for someone to fill a position at his work, someone he could trust. Turns out, my husband was an answer to HIS prayer! God had a plan. A plan for a wonderful new job for my husband. A plan for our son, who was able to stay in our home and is now officially ours. As I think back to that time, I imagine how differently it could have all gone had we not gone to that conference and been honest with our people. When walking through hard things, our tendency is to pull back, live in fear, and retreat from those that love us. But I can tell you—that is the plan of the enemy! God gave us people to do life with so that when it gets hard, we can be ministered to, prayed over, and held up." #Godisfaithful #shareyourstory

In 2012, I had been out of church for three years and any relationship that I had ever had with God was gone. I had no interest in going to church and was convinced that I didn’t believe in “organized religion.” One day while having lunch with a friend, he stopped me mid-conversation and asked, “Why are you letting past hurts keep you from your destiny? Why did you quit going to church because someone disappointed you?” At the time, I remember being upset because he knew that I was hurt by others in my prior church. Then he looked directly at me and said, “It seems like your faith and hope was in people, not in Jesus.”
That was the truth. He was ABSOLUTELY right. On the outside, I made sure it looked like I had it all together with a great job, house, and cars. Inside, I felt hollow, like there was a void that I just couldn’t fill. So one Sunday, I decided to give church another chance. At the end of the service, I raised my hand and truly accepted Jesus into my heart.
THAT MOMENT CHANGED MY LIFE! I had a lot of battles to walk through after I gave my life back to God including divorce, prescription drug addiction, love of money, and my own hidden sins to name a few. What I learned through my relationship with Jesus is that God has never left me. He never gave up on me even when I gave up on myself. I learned that God was never far from me; He was just patiently waiting for me. God strengthened me to walk through those times. He held me with His hand during those battles and gave me a life I could never have dreamed of.
Now I have FREEDOM. I have a beautiful wife, an amazing job that I was made for, great kids in a blended family, and some of the best friends I have ever had who don’t judge me based on my past. God doesn’t focus on my past mistakes but instead focuses on my desire to grow closer to Him. Lean in and see what God will do in your own life. I can tell you, it has been the best decision that I’ve ever made!

While praying for you the word that I keep receiving is freedom. Freedom from the strongholds, traps, and the enemy that is trying to take your future away.
"To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations."
In this verse, Jesus is speaking out against sexual immorality. Satan doesn't care about your sex life; he wants your future. He wants to steal the authority God has given you, your purpose.
During this time of shelter-in-place we are more isolated, alone, disconnected, stressed, and a mix of other emotions. Take the opportunity to watch this FREE class by Dr. Doug Weiss on how break away from sexual sin. That's right, the class is FREE!!!
Just imagine what it would be like to be free from hidden sin! To know that you don't have to go down that same path again of guilt, shame, or justification. You can do this; it worked for me after struggling for 26 years. I am now clean for over three years and it was the best decision I have ever made!
I want to encourage you during this time to watch the class, get in a Tribe, keep accountability, and see what God can do.
I love y'all.
This is the first session of Dr. Doug Weiss's Clean Class. To get the notes for this class, please visit https://www.drdougweiss.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/...

We have spent a lot of time in prayer and preparation for the upcoming Men’s Summit and have been so excited for you to be here with us.
However, in light of the growing national concerns and precautions many organizations are taking as they pertain to the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and upon the recommendation of local health officials as well as the Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization, the leadership of Gateway Church has decided to postpone Men’s Summit.
All registration costs to this year’s Men’s Summit will automatically be refunded in the next several weeks.
Our desire is to provide you with advance notice so, if needed, you may cancel hotel and/or airline reservations immediately. We know that many airlines and hotel chains are working to accommodate customers’ changes.
For many, the spread of this virus has caused fear and anxiety. Yet we are grateful that the Bible tells us, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that you would sense God’s peace in the midst of these difficult circumstances. This does not mean we should be careless or reactionary but rather walk in wisdom as we serve the Lord and our community in a way that demonstrates our trust in God and our love for people.
We love you and are praying for you and your families’ continued safety and well-being and for all those who have been affected by this virus. We’re also praying for a cure from heaven and for our medical community as they deal with the impact of this crisis.
