To make ready a people prepared for the Lord
The Leesburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church is part of a world-wide organization with more than 15 million mem- bers in countries around the world. Our church here in Leesburg, Virginia, is small but growing. We are very diverse with a membership that has roots from countries all over the world, as well as the United States. One of our goals is to foster a family atmosphere of inclusiveness and fellowship. Another emphasis is on developing a close relationship with God and learning about how to use the gifts He has blessed us in reaching out to others. As we grow we believe our ministries will expand to include more work with those in need, improving witnessing and spiritual growth. We would be happy to have you join us in worship or at one of the church

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.”

On Friday, March 27, at 9 a.m., President Weigley will meet with leaders of the union, local conferences, health care networks and university to pray and are asking members to participate in a special day of prayer, Sabbath, March 28.
“As people of faith, we believe that despite all that is happening right now, God is in control. And we believe in the power of prayer. As we read the Bible and claim His promises, we want to ‘pray without ceasing’ (1 Thess. 5:17) for our members, neighbors and communities; for those who are vulnerable and have underlying conditions; and for everyone who has been impacted by this terrible virus,” says Dave Weigley, president. “We also want to pray for government officials, community leaders, first responders, health care workers and scientists who are leading the fight against it.”

In response to the many calls from parents concerned about feeding their kids in the event of school closure…we are assembling breakfast and lunch bags. These will be provided to kids who usually receive free or reduced lunch or are students designated as McKinney-Vento (individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence). We are accepting food or financial donations to purchase the food, and welcome groups or individuals to help us assemble the bags. Thank you, thank you, thank you...we couldn't do this without the support of our community!
[03/14/20] Dear church family, for the next two Sabbaths (March 14 and 21) we will not be holding worship services due to the risks associated with the spread of COVID-19, commonly known as the coronavirus. As we face the upcoming days and weeks, please take necessary precautions, such as washing your hands frequently, avoiding close contact with others, and maintaining a healthy diet. Most importantly, in this time of widespread fear and panic, let us remember that our God is on the throne and let us trust Him each step of the way. We wish all our members and friends a restful, peaceful, and blessed Sabbath!
